Has anyone tried to build replicas of real cars in GT4? I think I started getting bored, and began doing this. It can be fun, if you've got the money to be doing it.

I'm an Initial D fan, and pretty much have everything shown(or something close).

I'm also writing a story of my own that is similar to Initial D(no drifting, takes place in the US), and I built the cars from that as well. My friends and I may try and film my story, and it'd be pretty cool to have my friends acting out the parts, then have races take place in GT4.

I also tried to replicate some cars that I had seen in magazines, Best Motoring, Top Gear, etc. For example, I just built my own NISMO R34 GT-R Z-Tune. I got a silver R34 GT-R V-Spec NUR, brought power up to just under 500hp(478hp, hard to get exactly 500hp), and got the black NISMO five spoke wheels(from the Fairlady Z-Tune, I think) from the used wheel section. It isn't anywhere near as fast as my other GT-Rs, but it looks pretty cool.

I also made my own Evo FQ400, 911 GT3 RS, and replicated the black Lotus Exige Jeremy Clarkson drove against the Apache in Top Gear(loved that clip).

Anyone else into this, or am I being a total geek? :dopey:
 
I love doing this, had a go at the Sparco Evo VIII, and also a Civic I saw in Redline. I really hope hybriding is made possible in GT4, I'd love to make an RS Performance Mid Engined (Focus RS Engine) Rear wheel drive Pug 106. This car is possible!
 
Yeah, I've got replicas of a whole buch of cars.
-My friend's brother's white Prelude. Unfortunatly, his is an SH, and they don't have that in the game (they did in GT2 though). I don't know what the actual difference is, but his seems to have the wheels from one type and the spoiler from another. I've also got a fair approxamation of his black CRX.
-A handfull of Initial D cars. I think all I'm missing of the main ones is a yellow FD, but I may have got some of the Lancers wrong. (and the Sil80 I won is yellow)
-A Sunfire. I know two people with Sunfires, both the older version of the concept in the game. There's no way I'd have this car otherwise, I hate them so much...
-I have a pretty good approximation of the R31 Skyline GTS-R I used to have in some mangacar game. Luckly, the only colour they seem to come in is very close to the custom colour I made for it. :D
-A Terracotta Celica XX. Eerily similar to the car of another guy I know. The black mesh wheels I found are almost exactly the same as the ones on his car.
I could probably make a lot replicas of MkII Supras I know, but the Celica XX does not come in: Super Deep Red with a carbon fiber hood, 5 different shades of red and rust, white with rust, white with lots of rust, faded dark blue with insane amounts of rust, Ferrari red, Viper red, code 2P3 (see my avatar), or black.
-Toyota Supra 3.0 Turbo: Exactly like another car I know if I just leave it stock.
-Toyota Supra RZ (blue): Pretty close, but he's got a bodykit and an insane stereo.
 
damn...like none of my that my family has owned are in this game.

The only replica i've done is of my own car. Did the same mods, or close enough too, aswell as with the rims. Kinda cool considering the quarter mile time was only off by 1/3 of a second, so I musta been doin something right. 👍
 
I can't do a replica of my car as it has only been in GT2 so far - even then in coupe form - so i sort of did one of my younger brothers' RX-7. Albeit with better wheels.
 
In Forza Motorsport you can make better replicas, they offer all types of bodykits for cars from AB Flug to Wings West, VIS, Bomex, JUN, C-West, and so many more. 👍
 
cant do a replica of my BMW MINI Cooper S as in GT4 all MINIs must have a non body colour coded roof. mines a solid black car, nearest i can get is a white roof with a black body :(
 
Hmm...doing a replica of my car involves buying the Mazda RX-8 Type S in Sunlight Silver Metallic and...well...leaving it stock :)

Of course it doesn't help that most of the cool sports cars in the game were never available over here, only the more recent Japanese and German ones
 
I was hoping to replicate my hugely missed red 1981 Alfetta GTV, with TSW's BBS lookalike cross spoke alloys but eventually had to accept that after the billions of versions of dull Japanese compacts and family cars :yuck: had been squeezed in, there was no room for the dull European compacts and family cars that I would lust after. :grumpy:

I tried to make a Lotus Elan Sprint (had the Big Valve 126BHP engine found in the Europa in the game) but overshot and got 135BHP, and the Gold Leaf colour scheme is not available. I also tried to replicate the Millenium Falcon using a Minolta Toyota but that underperformed, and I could not find any hyperspace drive or gun turret options.

I want to try make one of those lovely supercharged, 250BHP Alfa Guilia GTAs I have read about, but have not attempted it yet.

i do this as well, bit off topic but does anybody know why the Exige isnt called an Elise?
 
hmmm...that almost sounds like a reason to consider buying an xbox and forza... but i don't have the money and i doubt the game is as good as GT4 and no one i know has an xbox to tell me honestly which is better. but my bet is on GT4
 
Not so much as a replica, but a tribute. I wanted to copy the Suburu Impreza Super Touring Car but try and make it even more powerful.

So I lowered the latest Impreza (the Sedan WRX STi (GD Type-II) '02) in silver, stuck a medium sized black spoiler on the back, some multispoke alloys, tuned it to the max (including original turbine I think) and lowered it so its scraping off the floor (and the tyres off the arches!!) on some original type suspension.

It looks sweeeeet :drool:

Because its a different car - obviously heavly based on the Elise, but with a fixed roof, no rear window and a different engine cover as well as other slight body differences. The main diffence is that the Exige is more hard-core in its set-up, biased towards trackday use.

thanks, i just always wondered after i seen it on top gear, it is a bit daft tho, as i dont know any other manufacturer doing this, why would this model not be in gt4? they have the very similar motorsport elise but not the exige?
 
Yeah, it is kinda weird that the Motorsports Elise isn't called the Exige. Forza has the newer S2 Exige. I wish it were in GT4.
 
I made the Nations Cup/Bathurst 24 Hour Monaro in GT4, except wth out the body kits and stuff, it handles great!
 
Cool. I took a Monaro-based GTO and tried to replicate Rhys Millen's drift car.
 
I got forza friday, you can do exterior mods thus making it easier to create a replica I guess, although I have never done it.
 
Ha ha, I thought no one would actually do this other than me. Ok....

I have a 2002 Accord Euro R in Silver with weight loss, engine mods and suspension to the spec close of the Spoon Euro R endurance race car raced i the U.S. a while back.

A DC5 lighted and lowered to factory Group N specs in Japan.

I did the same thing with the R34 in Z-tune spec. Except that the actually car is a tad over 500bhp, so don't be afraid to push it up. I used, displacement up, port and polish and engine blueprinting to up the stakes while limiting it to a sports exhaust only to maintain the sound.

Next I am still building all the Initial D cars in the closest colours. So far I have:

SS Trueno with 240bhp
Black Evo III
White FC3S
Still waiting for a yellow FD3S though.
Black Sileighty - won that one
Red Cappucino
Black R32 GT-R
Red EG6 SiR

Most of my favorite JDM cars are already in the game courtesy of the tuners cars.
 
I go to the Speed World Challange and Grand Am Cup sites and try to build cars to their spec. sheets - they even go as far as to show all of the tranny ratios.

That's almost exactly what I did with my R34 'Z-Tune.' I think I used a semi-race exhaust, though. I knew I had to do displacement up, since the Z-Tune was a 2.8L as well. Have you gotten the black NISMO wheels from the used section?

Next I am still building all the Initial D cars in the closest colours. So far I have:

I did Initial D too. Way too much time on my hands.
Takumi's original AE86(~150hp, and got Watanabe lookalikes), and Shigeno version AE86(haven't tuned it to 240hp yet).
Wataru's AE86 Levin. Two cars, one with a turbo and one with a supercharger(makes a lot less power, though). The turbo has some polished BBS wheels, so it looks like his car in 2nd stage, and the supercharged car has some Enkeis, which look like the wheels in 4th stage.
Kyouchi's Evo III. Tuned to 350hp
Seiji's Evo IV Tuned to 300hp
Ryosuke's FC3S Settled for an RX-7 GTX. Why is the Enfini model not available in white??
Keisuke's FD3S, tuned to 350hp. I installed the Jag XJ220 wheels. They look a lot like the Mazdaspeed wheels he had once.
Fumihiro's white Supra RZ. Don't know what power or wheels he's got. The car only made a brief appearance in 1st stage.
Kenta's S14 Q's. No orange, so I got red.
Kyoko's FD3S. It's stock. I don't know how much power she's got, and can't remember what wheels.
Daiki's EK9. I tuned it to ~220hp(how much power does he have???), and added some bronze wheels from Rays.
Tomo's EK9. Just bought a Spoon car and left it stock. No idea what kind of power he's got.
'Smiley' Sakai's DC2. Kind of at a quandary here. His car looks more like the Spoon car, but I think it is supposed to be turbocharged(how much power??), so that would mean using a regular DC2. I bought both, and don't know which to go with.
Tooru's MX-5. I have a red MX-5, but I need to tune it for NA duty(had original turbo for Miata races) and get some wheels.
Takeshi's R32 GT-R. Got it to 400hp. Easy one to do.
Shingo's EG6. Haven't tuned it, but I got the wheels from the Mugen S2000 in the used section. They aren't the exact Mugen wheel, but they're really close.
Impact Blue Sileighty. Guess I'll have to settle for 'Impact Midnight Purple.' :grumpy: No idea what kind of power it's supposed to have.
Iketani's S13 K's. Left it stock.
Kenji's 180SX. Left it stock.
Nobuhiko's Altezza. Had to get the Lexus. Don't know what kind of power he's making.
Tsukamoto's Cappucino. One of the first cars I got. I think power's about right(100hp, right??), just need some gold wheels.
Hoshino(Foot of God)'s R34 GT-R. Hard to find R34's in yellow, but they're out there. No idea what kind of power he has. Mine has 800-something. Probably have to detune later. Got silver SA3 wheels from Yokohama/Advan.
Jojima(Arm of God)'s S2000. I just got the Amuse S2000 street car. I don't know power or wheels.
Bunta's STi GC8 coupe. Could've taken the easy way out and gotten a 22B. Instead, I found an STi coupe in a dark blue.

I need to find out who those other Evo guys are, and what they drive(a V and VI, I think). Haven't gotten around to Kai or the guys from Tokyo. I don't think there's a Celica GT4, so no exact replica for Miki, either. Atsuro Kawai's R34 25GT Turbo isn't in the game, so I might use that MNP III R34 that's collecting dust in my garage.
 
I've been working on some new replicas. I'm a Best Motoring/Hot Version fan, so I've been recreating some of the featured cars. So far, I have Tsuchiya's Monster Hachiroku and the Techno Pro Spirits MR-S. The R31 from R31 House was easily replicated by adding Watanabes from the used car section. I also did the Mine's 'Super Response Special' R34 GT-R and the 'Touge Monster' from Amuse, but they should've been a no-brainer to do. ;) I'm waiting on a blue S15 to replicate the Kei Office car, a red Supra RZ to make the Supra from Orido's shop Ridox, and a red R34 GT-R to dupe MCR's car of Togue Showdown Max fame.

I also read Sport Compact Car, and decided to replicate editor Dave Coleman's 240SX, which had been converted with an SR swap and Silvia front end. Just bought an S13 Silvia K's 2000cc for that. I'm waiting on a white 300ZX 2-Seater to show up so that I can make contributor Mike Kojima's Project Z32.
 
I have made a replica of the new Zonda 2005F. Take the Zonda c12 and add a racing suspension and engine upgrades until you hit 600 hp. I have also made the new Saleen S7 twin turbo. Got the 750 hp by adding a supercharger to the S7.
 
Cool! I also forgot to mention that I replicated the only roadgoing TVR Speed 12. It's red, with black wheels(got the Bentley Speed 8's) and a black wing. I got an oil change, and the power is pretty close to the 880hp the real car has. I used a setup from GT3 for it, and with R5 tires and TCS, it drives very well.

I made a TVR Sagaris and Typhon as well. I just got a T350C in a titanium silver type color, then added black Yokohama Mode 7 wheels and a black wing. Menacing, right? Amazingly, I was able to get power right at the 406hp claimed for the actual car.
My 'Typhon' is just a black Tuscan on some silver six-spoke Rays with ~590hp.

Lotus is making a special supercharged version of the Exige called the 240R. To replicate it, I tried taking my basic Exige formula(Elise 111R), but it made too much power on a Stage 1 turbo(closest to a supercharger). I just ended up doing an NA tune on it.

Holy Crap!

You are an even more hardcore Initial D fan than me! I didn't go all the way with all the cars in the manga though. I just did what was important to me. Anyway, I have a nagging question.

How do you get used wheels? Please explain to me step by step. I have the Asian version of GT4 (Chinese, crap!) and I don't see anywhere where I can purchase wheels other than in GT Auto. So I cannot get Watanabes, Nismo wheels and so forth.

I liked the GT3 thingy when you bought a wheel and it could be applied to any car in your garage.

I think your American version has this option.......

OK, if you notice my nick in this forum (everywhere else for than matter) name is TachiTJRS right? My name is Tachi (same as Tomo's last name) and TJRS stands for Todo Juku Racing School, which is the team name for the 2 EK9 and turbo DC2 in Initial D. Yes, they are my favorite characters in the manga, not Takumi...he is too comercialised.

The right specs for Daiki Ninomiya's Civic is:

Stock weight (I have a real Yellow original EK9 BTW, and its actually 1090) of 1050
this is the version without ABS, Airbags, electric everything and bucket seats.

1.6 litre B16B tuned to 210bhp. revs to almost 10000rpm. Recreate this by doing ECU and stage 2 NA tune.

The wheels he uses are actually black SSR Type C but GT4 does not have it...oh well..

Tomoyuki Tachi's car specs:

Yes, it is a true Spoon car exactly like the GT4 version except with the stock wing. (I hated the carbon wing)

The weight and power are correct (220bhp) However you must change the gear ratios to Spoon spec. I will give you the ratios at a later time.
 
Hi Tachi, thanks for the clarification on some Initial D car specs. I have a better list in the drift forum, so I'll be sure to update it.

You buy used wheels by going to GT Auto and selecting wheels. At the very bottom of the wheel menu, there will be a section called "Today's Special." That's where the used wheels show up.

Ok, now for more Initial D information....I have an original Initial D manga supplement I got in Japan with the cars specs in the manga. Sorry, in Japanese only. But I will translate the information you are missing.

Cappuchino: 130bhp, so just do everything you can and the max power will be 126 something.

Altezza: 250bhp, stocl wheels

Sileighty: 230bhp

Integra type R: Turbo, 280 bhp

Kyoko RX-7: 300bhp

Kai MR2: NA 240bhp

The 2 Evos later in the manga are white Evo V and White Evo VI
