Why does everybody use an LMP car for the 24 hr of Nurburgring(takes the fun out of it). It's not like there competition that fierce. Right now I'm doin it with a BMW M3 GTR and have a 2:00 lead after 11:07:xx. Mostly cuz B-spec Bob cant drive. Every time I drive the lead goes up so like I said earlier this race is not that hard.

Tried the BMW M3 GTR for the 24h Nurburgring. 30s ahead after 1 lap..... overkill!
For 1 A-spec point! No way. Maybe I'll try with som car I didn't drive before. I'll go for som australian car, Holden / FPV or my old fav Amuse S2000 R1?

well TBH we b-spec it because 24hours at the TV is overkill, and we want the prize, not the bragging rite of 200 aspec points. if i want fun, i race my minolta at lé sarth I in the GTSA (i think it is) and fight my way to the front

I doing my first semi- endurance races (the 1000 miles in the euro hall) with the Jag E type. And whilst it is overkill (I chose a lineup with no AC Cobra in it) it makes it go a little faster as it is over a set distance rather than a set time.

So, for the 24Hr Nur race I'd agree with xx that beating the opposition by 30 laps is no fun. I'd probably use something more even with the competition but since I am A-Specing it I wouldn't want to make it more than a 50 point race. Don't feel like racing all that time only to loose... :-)

I agree that using an LMP for the 'Ring 24hrs does take the fun out of it. In my first attempt, I won it in a Panoz: It wasnt much fun killing the competion and it didn't feel very rewarding. I had way more fun in my most recent attempt, in which I used an au CERUMO Supra(stock w/ oil change). A-Spec/B-Spec (switching off), I won by three laps. I had one of the best races ever and knowing that it wasn't an overkill win made it feel VERY rewarding.

i b-specced with a stock M3 GTR and was less than a minute ahead at 24 hrs. i was getting nervous at the end.

for b-spec, i would rather take the extra 'insurance' by having a car that is a bit overkill.

This is my first time doin it and I thought the GTR was a somewhat close match to it so I used that cuz like I said earlier it takes the fun away if I win by thirty laps but thats just me maby some people like racin that way.

I agree with you about people using LMP cars 👎 , it kind of takes the fun out of it, its better if u use a lower hp car like BMW M3 GTR so that it makes the reace more of a challenge 👍 , but doing the race in B-spec mode also takes the fun out of it like bakabaka said before 👎 .

True True but I just don't have enough time to run the race myself so I'm gettin time in whenever I can. I'm at 14:24:xx lap 117, A-spec laps=38, B-spec laps=79

Yeah Overkill wins suck, even if its b-spec like right now i did the 4 hour nurg with an elise 11R stock won by 12 seconds now thats close. 👍

While I agree that taking a car that's ridiculously fast compared to the AI cars takes the challenge away from the race, I don't necessarily agree that b-specing enduros is a game spoiler.

No enduro driver does the full race - especially 24hrs! - so why should you?
Your b-spec driver is kind of like a teammate who takes over while you rest. I don't see a problem with that if you want to make the race 'realistic'. It really comes down to how much you let your teammate drive. If you only run the first and last session in a race then that is kinda taking the fun out of it but if you do the majority of the race then why not.

I havent done the 24 hrs yet and not particularly looking forward to them (esp as I really don't like the Le Searte circuits!) but I do intend to make them a reasonable race and not just blast away into the distance with an overpowered car. I'd also like to do it in tandem with my b-spec driver (once he's stopped mashing the corscrew at laguna like he did the one time I let him loose :dunce:) and run it as if I was doing a true enduro. The only 'spoiler' I might use is to fast forward some b-spec sessions to speed things upa bit.

Well, that's my bit said... whatever way you do it, as long as you enjoy it - that's the main thing :) 👍

I want to win all the races. I will chose my best car and use it. I will do most of the endurance races in B-spec then later on will try and do them in A-spec. Shame you can not save your races in A-spec. I have a 2 year old that is why I want to do them in B-spec and he would just start the race going while I am at work.

If I'm going to B-spec a whole race, I give him a car that will kill the competition. No point having the ps2 running overnight only to come second.

When I did the 1000 miles! challenge in the European hall, I first did it as single races, using a different car for each race and entering until I had decent competition. I raced Le Sarthe in an Alfa Spider, Nurb in a Lotus Elan, Guilia GTA I think for Cote, and Nissan Fairlady 2000 droptop ('68) or something at Paris.

The idea was to drive half, and b-spec half, to get a nice long race with a driver sharing thing going, since I have no friends and it feels sort of comforting.....

What I found was that I was generally too fast to make it any fun and B-Spec (mine's called Ari) (on about 7200 points) was too slow. So I'd get a lead, hand over to Ari, who would start to lose the lead. I also noticed, oddly, that he wore his tyres out faster than me. He usually drives on pace 3. So the competition was too fast for him and too slow for me. End result.... I enjoy the long races but I'm really racing against the clock. If I was in something even slower, I may have had a competitive time but B-spec would have put me so far behind that i STILL wouldn't have been involved in a good, positions swapping event. I had fun chasing an E-type for second place in the last 10 laps of Opera, where I took over after Ari's pitstop and he was roughly 15 seconds behind, but I had my chase cut short when the event ended unexpectedly on lap 92 out of 99 - because I had been lapped a few times by the Cobra!

To top it all off, at the end of one particular event where I shared the driving with B-spec, in a tough race, I was awarded 0 a-spec points! So I am no longer sure you actually get a-spec points if b-spec does any portion of a race for you.... and , for that matter, if you race a portion of a b-spec's race, I'm not sure his experience and points will reflect that either.

thats exactly wot i think and wot i would have said.exactly.and also my bspec banana got stuck at the corkscrew aswell.lol.

I just finished this morning and won a green and yellow F1 car. Won by 2:00 over the second place man. The race was 195 laps, A-spec laps=50,B-spec laps=145. The b-spec beat me in laps cuz I had to go to bed but I raced whenever I was up and didn't have something else to do.

Final standings:

1st:( Me ) M3 GTR
2nd:Abt Audi TT Race Car
3rd:Opel Calibra Race Car
4th:Mercedes Evolution III Race Car
5th:Asl Garayia Race Car
6th:Spoon S2000

I did it a-spec with a bud using the Mercedes 190 E Evo II Touring Car...I find it silly when people yell about winning it in an Minolta or something by like 70 laps. I mean, when I b-spec something I pick a car I'm confident will win, but nothing extreme like a Speed 8 for the British Lightweight...

i used the stock mazda 6 touring car, did it all my self, took me about a week with school and all, it was a close race, won over the Falken gt r by like 7 seconds
