Here are my top 5.

(1) Elizabeth Hurley - The obvious choice.

(2) Audrey Hepburn - I think it was My Fair Lady that really showed off how beautiful Audrey could be. I remember quite vividly being stunned by her in that movie.

(3) Keira Knightly - The reason this thread started. She is so recent that I hadn't really considered her in the grand scheme of things - but I realized that she was instantly one of my favorite people to look at.

(3) Natascha McElhone - From the Truman Show and Solaris. She's difficult to find pictures for but on the screen she's captivating.

(3) Uma Thurman - It's actually quite difficult to find pictures that do her justice.

Mmm ... not as easy as you might think whittling just five out of nearly a century of cinema ... let's try tho' with a who-do-I-remember-first grab-bag:

1) Lauren Bacall
2) Elizabeth Hurley
3) Elizabeth Taylor
4) Nicolette Sheridan
5) Lesley Anne Down

But then you have the likes of Caroline Munroe, Valerie Leon and Ingrid Pitt who never made it 'big' in terms of film stardom (altho' Caroline and Valerie were in a Bond movie (the same one if I remember rightly) and Ingrid was very famous for her Hammer House of Horror vampire movies).

Then there are 'classic' beauties like Marilyn Monroe, Jane Fonda, Raquel Welch, Barbara Bach, Ursula Andress ...

And modern classic beauties like Julia Ormond, Renee Russo, Nicole Kidman ...

And Contemporary beauties like ... well, I think you get the idea of the scale of the problem :lol:

I quite agree that it's a shock that we forgot about Phoebe ... it's especially bad for me as way back in my sixth form days I used to 'hang' with a lass who was the spitting image of her (doctors daughter too, with her own car

).

I concur that Ms Beckinsale deserved a mention too - I'd logged off when I thought of her.

Angelina is rather splendid also but the tattoos put me off (as does the smoking (puts hand up to admit to being a crusading ex-smoker

)).

Concur also with Linda Carter (how did I forget her!) and Marg H(who has been a fave of mine since her role in Tommyknockers many years ago).

Another that has occurred to me is Erin Gray, who played Wilma Deering in Buck Rogers. NOt a 'bathing beauty' but slender and elegant.
