Goodbye Madden 05!

After a year of Madden 05, i move on to Madden 06. Let me recap my year of Madden 05
-My Madden Football tourney, (Pats win, 6 months long tourney)
-My Madden online, (3 months of playing)
-My Madden Franchise, (My Rams go undefeated and i didnt play super bowl yet, 3 months)

whew, that was long!

Madden 06, here i come!

Hmm, another Madden freak eh? I'll be getting Madden 06 the day it comes out, I'm pretty pumped. Superstar mode looks like it'll be a lot of fun. I'd like to play you online in 06, it'd be fun to match up against a fellow GTP'er. If there are any others out there, maybe GTP could have its own Madden tourney. :dopey: But I'm sure the Superstar mode will keep me occupied for a long time after I get it. :D

Well, I got it today, and I must say I'm quite happy. I've read many reviews on the net about it, and pretty much all of them have been negative, and I really don't know why. Is it similar to 2005? Yes. But that doesn't mean that '06 isn't a great game in itself. Almost every review I've read has completely trashed the new "QB Vision" mode. This new addition has a very steep learning curve - you're going to take more than your fair share of sacks while trying to get it down right. I'm guessing this is why a lot of people don't like it. But I love it. It adds an element of realism unseen in any football game to this point. The ability to look off defenders is great, especially when playing against a friend who likes to play zone. It will take a while to master, but I think it's great. 👍 They flipped the controls so that now (PS2) X = O. That will also take some getting used to. While trying to run down a reciever or running back, I found myself constantly changing guys while trying to speed burst. :dunce: The graphics are very similar to '05 with minor touches that give the game a better look overall. The soundtrack in this game is amazing. The NFL Films songs that have been mixed are absolutely great. I was also very happy to see Ricky Williams in the roster update. :D Speaking of Ricky, the new "Truck Stick" is very effective, and leads to some great times when you run to the outside. I was able to absolutely steamroll a couple of cornerbacks, and it felt good. :D Don't try it against linebackers or lineman too often though. :scared: I haven't gotten into the Superstar mode yet, but I was kind of disappointed that you can't create your player's face, or even choose it. You just have to keep randomly selecting parents until you get a decent looking face. :indiff: Overall, a great game in my opinion, and much of my free time will be taken up from now on. :dopey:

By the way, are JFM92_GTRacer and I the only 2 Madden players at GTP? :odd:
