Mmm, Volvo-ey.

Congratulations, man. The freedom that comes with having your own car is amazing! 👍

What?! Last I heard, you were getting a Mk8.

It's a long story. I went to a GM test drive day and test drove a Saab 9-5 Sportwagon. I had more fun in that car than I did in the '05 Corvette convertible (I know... I'm crazy). The combination turbo/wagon is where the "fascination" (obsession?) started... However, a test Saab 9-5 Aero "broke down", so I decided to go for another Swedish, turbocharged, station wagon. I started looking at Volvo 850s but deal after deal went bust. Finally, I settled on an older Volvo 740 Turbo wagon.

Nice, anyways. 👍

Thank you! :)

And now that all is well (the alternator belt snapped after 1 week of ownership -- no big deal) time to look about getting a boost controller. 7 psi is just not cutting it! I ran 2x to nearly 3x that amount in the T-Bird. :dopey:

Thank you! :) I've been without a car since March... it was terrible. I know exactly what you're talking about, though.

No more C3, lucky you Mrkt Mkr.

Yup! :D

Nice car,

Thank you! :)

are you getting 4 12"s or 4 15" for the truck though?

Neither. I need all the room I can get in the trunk... if you know what I mean... :sly:

I would like to get a boost controller, though. :dopey:

you have to give it gas when starting and let it idle for 2 minutes giving it a bit of gas or it'll stall when you put it into gear

Experiencing similar problems. Seems to have something to do with the idle air controller. It goes away after 30 seconds and runs fine. It's 1988, though, so...

Nice! 👍 umm... might as well make the front symetrical and pull that panel off the right side since it's off on the left (near the fogs). :dopey: :D

I've thought about that! But I've been lazy, lately... and when I do have time, I'm too tired from work. :dopey:

Asymmetrical is in now!

MrktMkr1986
Wow, I never noticed that before! Asymmetrical designs have character. :dopey:

And functionality because my air intake (if you wanna call it that  ) is on that side so if I prop my light half up like them gay drifters I'll get even more air flow. :dopey:👍

 Exactly!

More air equals more fuel, and more fuel equals more power! It'll turn the 1.6 into a 1.8!

HEY!! nice car man, Thought you were gonna get a 850?? but hey the 740 has Rwd. 👍 I still own my 740 wagon..... anyway, more pics!

Nice car, despite it being an ESTATE. You and Taurine should start an ESTATE club! :p You've been evicted from the C³ so you're on your own.

Whoops, I assumed this is your first car. :dunce:

MrktMkr: I heard everything's rectangle on this car, except for the steering wheel, which is square. Is it true? :p

Yes. Even the steering wheel is sqaure. The turbo is a rectangle, the seats are rectangular, the cylinders are rectangluar...

HEY!! nice car man, Thought you were gonna get a 850??

I was, but it didn't work out. Either way turbocharged, rear-wheel drive cars (Thunderbird Turbo Coupe :indiff: ) are way more fun to drive!

but hey the 740 has Rwd. I still own my 740 wagon..... anyway, more pics!

Really?! What model 740? Turbo, GL, GLE?

Nice car, despite it being an ESTATE.

Yeah, I know... wagon... Thank you! :D

You and Taurine should start an ESTATE club!

LOL!

You've been evicted from the C³ so you're on your own.

Not necessarily... what if I told you that my alternator belt snapped after 1 week of ownership, the passenger side brake light bulb is burnt (replacing tonight), and the fuel tank door hinge is broken... so if you try to open it to fill up, it'll fall off. :dopey:

niky
Damn NICE car.

Thank you! :) More pictures to follow -- I forgot to buy batteries! :dopey:

Very nice 👍

Beige too :)

Thank you! :) I would have preferred a darker color for the Brick but at least there's no rust.

I was expecting something kinky :(

Nice car though.

Thank you! :)

Hey Man, love the new whip !

Thank you very much! Turbo...

Whoops, I assumed this is your first car.

Nope, the '88 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe was my first car. And it gave me hell when it worked, and nearly killed me when it didn't. The head gasket and oil pump was the last straw. I do miss the 14-17 pounds of boost, though.

Noone noticed the WALLSTREET license plate?!

That's OK. I wanted to get a custom license plate, but I didn't feel like paying the extra.

Shame on you guys. Pimpin' ride, btw.

 Thank you! :)

I noticed the Photoshoped number plate.

Close, it was Microsoft Paint. :sly:

Knowing MrktMkr, that's probably his bumper sticker!(and also his favorite movie) :D

It is my favorite movie! That, and Superfly are my favorites... (from the 70s/80s).
