Real maps of GT4 circuits (Google Maps/Earth)

Google Maps (http://maps.google.com) rolled out satellite images for countries outside of United States a couple of days ago (as i was told). So I think I might have a little fun with it to see how many GT4 tracks I can find from there.

Some of them are easy to find like New York, Seattle (which has been mapped out before) and Hong Kong (where I grew up). Some of them are harder to find, especially those in Japan. Anyway this is a very fun exercise for me and hope you will enjoy it.

Click on the Track Name to get to the original Google satellite images. (draggable, zoomable). Click on the Image to view the GT4 track placement.

Try the Google Earth (download at http://earth.google.com) software too! It's very cool. Just copy the whole string of coordinates and paste it in the top left search box in the program.

Very 🤬 Nice...i've seen the others but not the tokyo R246.... :)

one a side question do you know why is called R246?? :dunce:

That's too cool man. I recall an old thread during GT3 that someone was talking about the Tokyo track, and someone commented that it was a fictional track. Seattle would be a fun on to try and find, it too is thought to be fictional.

This is the EXTREMELY small version of a Seattle map I did with the Nasa satellitte photo site a good long time ago - including GT3 In Game screenshots :

[edit:] I used images from different eras as I wanted to include both the Kingdome AND Safeco Field...

Yep Seattle has been mapped out before. I am just repeating other people's work :) Edited OP with Seattle.

In Seattle - You're 2 blocks too far with the 180 degrees in the top of the track... You're only passing 3 blocks after the 90 degrees when coming downhill...

Apart from that - 👍 Keep 'em coming...

Meh!... It's for my email address and I just needed something ;)

Btw.. You should see the "full" version of my map - You can count the number of cars in Seattle the day the satellite passed over it !..

:D Cheers! Thank fark for broadband... that is one HUGE picture... I think that might even be my uncle in the Camaro near the start/finish line!

Don't mention it ;) But try, if you like, to imagine the farking TIME I spend at Nasas satellitte photo site, zooming to max detail, then saving, the finally sticking everything together.. I don't think I'm about to do that again anytime soon :irked:
