Umm... yeah. I drift an S2000 on the weekends during August (it's a friend's car), but there's a catch. I do it safely. Meaning, on a closed course, with proper safety equip (ie. Roll cage, 5-point harness, Helmet, suit, etc...)

Oh, and Keisuke Hatakeyama is the owner of that EF Civic Drift Car. :rolleyes: I hope you recognize that there is a MASSIVE difference between what those idiots do on film vrs. what's considered good drifting practice by 99% of the population.

fair enough, I stand corrrrrrrrrrrected. My initial response was because I have seen far too many people ***** and moan about how FF drifting isnt drifting. I do not know you sir, and do not mean to offend unless you truly deserve it.

It's not just the fact that all "Arab drifting" seems to be is pulling the hand brake at high speed and spinning in circles, it's that their doing it on public roads. That's what makes it so stupid.
 
Umm how could you tell if a car has a handbrake or is using one when you cant see inside it, refering to the first link. Ok and im not saying this is trash but it seems to me that you may be from one of these websites and your trying to spread what may seem like to you a good thing, but you will only get bashed for it here. I mean, there is a piont here that it is extremely dangerous driving like that on public roads. I saw in one video a truck was driving off the road becuase of one of those wreckless guys,

Your still missing the point. Most of these guys are doing it on public roads. They do the stunts (who really cares if they use the handbrake or not?) where its not just insanely dangerous to them, but its also dangerous to everyone else on the road. Not to mention I doubt any of the cars used have any sort of roll cage in them, or that anyone is even wearing a seatbelt.

I'm sure that with all the money floating around over there someone could open a "Spin your car around at high speeds while spectators stand inches away from your out of control car" track. That would be fine; and you can call it what ever you want, and you wouldn't be putting anyone with a right mind at risk.

I'll see if I can't drudge up a video somewhere's. It's not often that we filmed. It was merely for entertainment of driving experience. Hate to say it, but I doubt we have any film around.

Sorry, I made some assumptions about wealth after seeing this thread. I know not everyone is rich, but it probably wouldn't be that hard to start an organized event for this kind of stuff, closing off roads, and having an ambulance and firetruck near by for safety.

You know what, since you can't seem to comprehend even the slightest bit of what I am saying, I'll leave you with this:

Keep your unsafe culture away from me. I don't want to see, hear, or even know about it. That kind of driving makes me want to just rage. Stupidity like that is unexcusable where I come from and I have ZERO tolerance and acceptance for it. I'll just be hopeful for darwinism to set in on your country.

I haven't watched any of the clips. (I'm pretty sure I've seen similar ones before).

I think someone should dig up the movies of the two saab stunt drivers or the saab commercial from the seventies. From what I remember those two are pretty similar to what this guy is showing but done in a safe context.
 
afriend1 : That's defentley not drifting. I think it's a bit more of ''powersliding'' in crappy FWD sedans. It's just idiotic what they do and you are an idiot as well for liking it. It's dangerous too. People standing way too close tot eh road and risking their lifes to get hit by a car, that's showing their stupidity. And ''drifting'' in traffic is insane! If it would have been an open free road, fine, but in traffic....? Geez. :rolleyes:
 
I haven't tried to see any of this vids posted here but I have seen some on other sites of this Arab "drifting". I find it difficult to call what I've seen drifting and what's worse is that there is no environment control in the least way. There's more traffic in the Arab vids than a drift vid I saw in the Drifting vids thread where there was one close call to the only non-drifting car on the road(besides that car there was no other traffic). I don't recommend doing the exact things I've seen in either vids but these on this thread is just wreckless and stupid. When it comes to the worst it's just........
