Here we go guys, we're starting the second part of this season with the last 4 rounds. Standings are still pretty close so anything can take place and switch the order around.

Good luck to all. :) 👍

Thanks eats, looks like a fun one. Thanks for the minimul added weight...really!

I'm looking forward to getting back to some JGTC action.
Good luck to everyone for the last 4 rounds.👍

Hey! How'd I manage the most weight?!

Twin Ring is a pretty difficult and complex track to get right. My tip for this weeks GT500 pole is....Fasj or Hot.B, if he enters.

Finally! But Twin Ring. I think if I can figure out the line in the Celica, which is slower than most of the cars I've ever driven around here, I'll be set.

Good luck everyone.

I can just feel my little Altezza groaning under all that weight. Oh well, it could have been worse (if I just hadn't been so nice to.....).

Tires could be a big factor, depending on race length, since Motegi seems pretty abrasive. I sure wish the braking markers were painted florescent orange so I could see them a little better. And what about the weird pit entry?

But, nothing like a little adversity to get the fire blazing, huh?

Good luck to all.

Four simple words: I hate this track. :indiff:

But I shall try my best of course. Funnily enough, it's been nearly 3 weeks since I played GT4....that must be some sort of record for me. :)

Heh, same here. I disconnected my wheel to take it to my uncle's house for the xmas eve party and haven't reconnected it since.

That's not a problem for John McClane...

for some reason, i don´t like motegi. and with the little weight, i have to win this race.

not likely:grumpy:

so my championship chances are slimmer.

:ouch: i thought round 7 was SS route 5 :ouch: :dunce:

if i can somehow get closer in the standings already will be a good thing

What's not to like about Motegi? That is---besides the incredible tire wear?

I just don't think it has any real flow to it. It's all stop, start, stop, start. All those tight hairpins and 90 degree corners makes the track seem like a chore. I much prefer the half versions.

Also, the track is kinda dark and drab, I wish you could have a full day version of it, would be much more inspiring.

I think you're correct about the flow aspect of Motegi. And the darkness makes me prone to missing the braking markers unless I really pay attention.

The sequence of corners leading onto the front straight are fairly technical, and I don't think I've satisfied myself that I can negotiate that section with good consistency quite yet. The one bend that, for me, requires the most discipline, is the 180 corner before the end of sector three. I am either patting myself or kicking myself on the exit of that one.

But it's true that the critical points of the track are pretty well-defined, and not much creativity can be called upon, so if you don't have the steam around that place, you are going to have to figure out some other way to do a quick time in the race.

I agree that not many would pick Motegi as one of their favorites.

I retract the above declaration.

Re the tire wear factor:

The little bit of tire testing makes me think tire wear is at least slightly greater at Motegi than I would have expected. I've tried being gentler on turn-in, and I'm pulling a higher gear than I probably should, just to try to make up for it. I don't know if GT4 really pays attention to how easy or hard the driver is on the tires, but I pretend that it does.

But it doesn't really seem to be working.

At least I can hope for a weight reduction for the next round.

Oh, it absolutely does. Drifting eats up tires fast. :)

It definitely does. We've seen examples of two drivers with the same car getting different tire wear. Try being heavy on the tires and you'll notice the difference. Often one or two bad spin-outs (with lots of tire scrubbing) can mess up your pit strategy.

Motegi definitely has a rougher surface, plus as someone said it's a momentum track with lots of medium to high speed corners, which generally put the most wear on tires.

Personally I love this track. There's a flow to it, albeit in little sections. Small mistakes can cost a lot in laptime here, and almost every corner is an adventure in squeezing the most out of your car and yourself.

submitted. moving again... there´s a 50% chance that i get a DQ in the race because i don´t know how much time i´ll be without a TV...

but i´ll try my best to race... don´t want my season to end because of something like that.

yes, i thought it was a problem of my PC not showing the pic with the results, but they are not up yet...

also curious... i hope to get at least a point in this one...
