Since I asked you to demote me back to div.3,I'd like you to DQ me for this round.
Reason for this is because I don't want anyone to think that I asked you to demote me just so I could win again.

WooHOO!!! 6th slowest overall and NOT last in either D1! Can't complain...

Great results stacking this week Cyril! The system worked pretty well. Fun change-up from the usual.

Some cracking times up there. Can't wait to see those 2:55 replays. Considering I've been moaning about this all week, I guess I'll shut up with 2nd in D3. I'm quite chuffed really.
 
Wow! All 3 division's winning times within 1 sec of each other after a 2 lap race. Just proves how balanced the handicap system was. Well worked out flat-out 👍

Just to clarify:
It's been really long time since I used the MaxDrive,so forgive me if I uploaded the wrong one,because I have a dozen replay on my memory card.
The picture that's uploaded with the replay is just to prove that I have right replay file,in case that the one I just uploaded is the wrong one.

Anyway,Im NTSC.

BTW my AI strategy was AI+8 on R1's and my feild had to have a Wedsport in 1st, a 205 in 2nd and a 190EVO mercedes in 5th 👍

I voted in the poll and rated this race as an "average"... Had it been a hotlap I would have voted "5" but that's no big deal.

The race was fun and the car selection was excellent.

Don't just judge by the ranking... Take into account the little things like what I'm mentioning here. :sly:

I would love to see many more races like this in the future (only hotlaps without handicaps ;) ). :lol:

Whatever the case, thanks for doing a great job as usual cyril.

Also, congrats to the podiums for all divisions as well as to all of the dedicated racers that made time for the awesome week of racing.

This was by far the best AI race ive ever done, As you can tell by my replay it was so easy to pass the AI it was almost like a 2 lap race in free run.
 
Hey, i really enjoyed this race flat-out even though the AI was frustrating at times, congrats to the podium finishers for each division!

It seems that anything fast is a good combo:sly:

Excellent work everybody! based on the leaderboard, I thought I had top 5 wrapped up.

Voted a 5 on that, Yes it had AI. but it rewarded consistency over a number of laps, and the handicapping with different cars was an excellent decision and added a different dimension to the race. I wouldnt make a habit of it though, since div 2 and 3 people might want to compare meaningful times with div.1

That was indeed very close and I am glad I persisted. My other only clean race before last night's last session was a 2'59.2xx.

Anyway, congratulations to all that put the effort and the extra time needed to fight off the AI :cheers:

My vote for this race is a "good, I liked it" - not giving it perfect, just for the AI portion of it.

Just watched your replay. And your right it is a very close call. However, after watching it many times from many views i'm inclined to say it's not clean. This is only my opinion and i'll tell you why i think this is. Obviously a couple more people need to watch it to see if they agree or disagree.

Basically i noticed a 'spike' on the G-force meter reading on the WeddSport. I don't think this comes from you making the initial contact (of which i think there is ... just), i think it comes from when your car runs clear of the WeddSport and it then slips off the back left corner of your car. It would do this if the AI was trying to steer ever so slighty to the right (which given the direction of the corner is highly probable) but couldn't beacuse your car was touching it. Then once your car was clear the WeddSport it would suddenly break free or slip off your car causing this G-force 'spike'. I honestly can't see where else the 'spike' comes from as there is no rumble strip contact at this point. I also setup the race again with the same AI and tyre settings as you used and i never once saw the spike in G-force in the WeddSport on any of the passes of that corner and i ran it like 5 or 6 times.
 
It's a multi-lapper so we can't use the data logger to look for speed drops, and we know since week 36 that the photomode is not accurate enough to clearly show contacts.
So the only option left is indeed to look for a sudden change in the cars directions, speeds, or on the G-force indicator as done ^.
Do both cars (Dion's and AI) show a G-force spike at the same moment ?
That would indicate contact.

I'm away from home for a couple of days and I can only check this next saturday. We'll see then.

Strangely it's just the WeddSport that shows signs of contact. Although it's hard to tell. You have to see it really to understand.
 
Congrats to all podiums and finishers. I thought it was a great race! 👍 Strangely enough, the race I submitted was one that I did as a safety race with AI3 R1. The AI was simple to negotiate, but I couldn't get the run at the righthander after T1 with this setup. I was trying for the hot fast one using AI5 on R2's or the one Dion described at AI8, but could never pull off a clean race. Mostly because of the Wedsport! But anyway, however your race works out Dion, it goes without saying that I would race anytime with you because I know you are a straight arrow who would never try and hide even the smallest mistake. Respect. 👍

Congrats to the gold winners (holl01, MinorShunt, Rob 256R, Silencer, Electric), excellent work. Looks like I should've been putting in some laps instead of watching the girls play football on Sunday night.

@Electric Relative to D3. Maybe you really should be in D2? If you've earned inclusion with that caliber of drivers you should be proud of that accomplishment...I would be. I don't compete here that often...trying to limit myself to one competion at a time and currently I'm enjoying Dave_Geroge's Nurb series...but I'm right where I belong based on my abilities...although probably 2 months ago I re-ran the WRS qualifier and my time then would put me at the tail end of D2 👍 and hopefully I've improved a bit since then.

I voted "fabulous". I enjoy competition (AI) within the competition (you folks). It keeps it entertaining as opposed to running lap after lap trying to trim down your time. I would however prefer tire wear and multilappers with pit stops and use the GT4 "penalty" system to let the game define "incidental" contact...it actually seems quite fair. I also think we should get one shot at the race (with a couple of "practice sessions" to get the feel for the competition and also develop a pit strategy). But I realize I'm in the minority on this so I don't expect to see anything like this soon or ever. I'll probably check back in when there's some AI back on the track.

Also seems that the "handicapping" worked well. Good Job Flat-Out:tup: .
 
Wow I can't belive I had that good of a time. I can't post a replay of myself as I have no way of getting it to a computer, but I assure you that my lap was clean. I think I spent 2 hrs trying to get the perfect string of passes put together to get that time. That after I did it with the Impreza and got 2'56:670.

Just a shame my time was so shockingly bad, only spent about half an hour max on it... :(

That 'spike' comes from the fact that the Celica avoids Dion's car, not because contact is made. In the replay you can't see the cars suddenly change from direction and there is no speed drop, so this would imply no contact is made. Also when you watch the steering input from Dion (option needs to be turned on; options -> press x -> 4th option) you can see no sudden movement in the steering wheel. When he would have hit the Celica, you would notice a slight movement in the steering wheel. So I'm 100% sure the run is clean 👍

I mean I drove just twice, and I really thought that I suck.


And I seriously don't know what should be done.... best would be to wait and see what Cyril has to say about it.....and to check my replay too.... I still hope it's dirty.

not to worry mate 👍, You raise valid points that need to be answered. However if contact was made, it would have to reflect on my car also, and i just cant see any signs that it did. So as Hugo Boss said, i think the AI moved out of my way :crazy:. I didnt feel a thing with the wheel and no sudden changes of direction or speed loss was found. And my car seemed to be totally uneffected. Very close call indeed :sly:
