We never actually went in dept with this kind of stuff but it would be interesting to know what everyone is up to. You can pretty much talk about anything, from where you live, work, go to school in, your real life car, your interests, sports, music, movies...you get the idea. So I'll go first on this one. :)

So my real name is Guillaume Dubois. I was born on May 11th 1984 so I'll be 22 in less than a month now. I live in Canada, Quebec so yeah my first language is french. I learned english just going to school and talking with my friends. I also learned a bit of latin and spanish during those years. After high school I took one year off and went to work. After that I really knew what I wanted to do so I took a computer technician class. I also did a bunch of certifications to have more complete knowledges and be more qualified. After a bunch of jobs on contrats I finally started my real job in the computer domain last year.

My daily driver is a Pontiac Sunfire '05 I bought last year, before that my first car ever was an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL 1992 with the 3.4 :) I have a big passion for cars and the lineup we have at home really shows it! Other than a van and another Sunfire '05 we have 3 cars of collection. Two turbo Buicks and one Red Express. Those 3 are very rare specimens with ultra low mileages and in mint condition. Just an exemple the Buicks are 1987 cars and the white one has 48 000km and the black one 29 000km with both original paint. It's pretty obvious those are not stock anymore and they are our weekend warriors. :sly: We bought the truck at the end of last season so it's a new addition to the family. Here are some links.

My second passion is MMA (mixed martial arts). I trained Tae Kwon Do from 6 until 13 and got up to black belt first dan. I restarted 2 years ago with some muay thai/kick boxing. I have a huge MMA dvd collection of UFC, Pride, KOTC and bunch of smaller organizations. Those are the only DVD I actually buy. I also have some stuff downloaded and close to 1TB (4*250gb) on my computer is about MMA. Put on top about 600-700 burned CD-DVD and you have a pretty damm good collection there. :D Anyway if you also like MMA just contact me and I can send you couple DVD's.

I play about any sports. Most of all ice hockey in winter and roller hockey in summer. From time to time anything from basketball, baseball, soccer, football. I'm really a big sport guy. Oh and btw Montreal Canadiens are in the playoffs. :p

Music, I listen to about everything around metal/rock. But out of that big pack my favourites are #1 Rammstein and #2 System of a Down. I bought every albums, singles, dvd's for Rammstein and all the albums for SOAD. Live band nothing and I repeat nothing even comes close to Rammstein. They tour alot around Europe so they only came twice here in Montreal, twice I went.

Movies, must admit I don't watch alot since all the stuff I watch are MMA events but I must still have a good 250-300 movies on DVD (downloaded of course...what a cheap bastard ).

Also I'm into computers like you know so I like alot to build systems for my friends and help them save money. :) Last december I bought a new system from A to Z and I really went full out. It did cost me alot but now I have a top of the line system that will last for the next years.

When I got my PS1 it was for GT1, then I got GT2 after. Not sure if you can believe this but I only bought my PS2 in March 2005 with GT3. For GT4 I got it the week it came out. Then came the creation of the JGTC series and now April 2006 this is the main reason I'm typing this huge ass post.

So in a fast resume this is me, your race admin. :) Hope to know more on some of you as well. 👍

Ehh...Where to start.

My real name is Brad(ley) Horton, I live about 40km South East from Melbourne, Australia, which is almost in the middle of no where. It's pretty much in the bush. I kinda have a picture of it.

That is where I work, Wellington Park Kennels, it's ~70 seconds from my house. Which is great because I usually start at 7am in the morning. I work here on weekends and holidays. I love it. Sure, I have to work in **** all day, but it's the best job ever. Much more rewarding and fun then all my friends who work at McDonalds. I will try to never have a job I don't want to go to.

During the week, I'm in my final year of high school. I'm not going too bad, except at Chemistry, which sucks and I don't care. I've also almost completed my I.T Networking Certificate, by in the next 6 months should get my CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

Although, I'm not old enough in my state to get a licence yet. I recently brought my first car. A 1995 SEAT Cordoba.

I think it's really cool. SEAT was only in Australia for 4 years I think, before it went bust. But it's a really good car, and since no one down here has heard of a SEAT before, they go for really cheap. It has run perfectly with no problems, except the sunroof doesn't open. (It was like that when I brought it).

At the moment, I'm 17 years old, and to get your licence in my state you have to be 18. So in 2 months, I can drive that 70 seconds to work all by myself :sly:

I think I was the youngest JGTC racer last year, I finished 3rd, 8 points VT racing, and 1 point behind Fasj6418. However, I didn't manage to win a race the whole season, but I came ever so close on a few occasions. The worst was the second last race at Apricot Hill, I needed to get a win to have a hope in hell at catching VTracing for the championship. Last lap, I spun it out of the hairpin in the middle of the track. Lost about 5 seconds, ended up losing the race by 1.8 seconds to EV4L. I think that brought my second place tally to 4 or 5....

I have submitted for WRS almost everyweek since I joined, which was week 9. The only one I missed was one at Opera in a 206 I think, which was only because I went to bed and forgot to submit, I woke up and logged in 2 minutes after the deadline. I was kicking myself. I actually started in D3 in the WRS, and worked my way up to a point where I can almost consistently get D1 podiums.

Yeah. I think that's probably it. Not very interesting was it....

well here goes it

My name is Andrew Walsh, am 21 at the moment, and live in Perth, Western Australia (the most isolated city in the world).

I work as a labourer for Grays Concrete Transportable Floors, making pre-cast concrete floors used for transportable homes and other kinds of buildings. The work is labour intensive but is pretty easy once you get used to it. And the pay is bloody good considering i have no qualifications whatsoever.

Have been racing on GTPlanet since the middle of 2005 and enjoy the competition. Became the first person who qualified in Division 3 to make it into Division 1 in the Weekly Race Series.

Have taken a year off of sport because of some major fatigue from constant sport. Played State level hockey (field) last year which is very hard work, and i need a rest.

I love photography and get out and do it as much as possible. Cuurently using a Canon EOS 350D and am looking to pick up a big dollar lense soon, but am still pondering what to actually get.

My car
1995 Ford Falcon Futura

Whacked $2500 of stereo in it. Have lowered it, twice! Replaced the diff for an LSD and different ratios (cost me a small fortune). Alloys were another $1800 - 17 inchers. Have not done any other performance mods to it yet, but they will happen when i can afford it.

Other than that i don't do much else. So now you all know.

well, where to start...

my full name is Francisco Assul de Souza Junior, which explains the user name FASJ.

the 6418 represents the best season of my favorite team, the seattle supersonics, of the NBA.

needless to say, i´m a basketball fanatic. tried to play myself, but i didn´t won the genetic lotery, so i suck at it. so my dream is to one day work with basketball. make my living of this.

i live in a beautiful college-beach city in brazil, but i would love to someday live in the USA for a couple of years.

i´m a journalist and i work in my university radio, doing some editing. its a 40 hour week job, but as you can see, i have little to do in the morning, so i spend lots of time in the internet. starting in my master next month:yuck: so lots of studying to do. and i will have my book about sporting journalism published this year.

i´m also a porn fan, something that might be explained by my late start with women, (but things are good right now, getting some dates regularly) and i also love race cars, which is no surprise, since we are in a GT forum.

started in videogames just after my sister died, when i was 6. my parents got me an atari just to keep me busy. that was in 1989. as you see, my videogame carrear began always late on the systems. but normal in brazil, because those things are quite expensive. became a fan of frostbite, hero and enduro. trashed several controllers, speacially playing decatlhon.

when i was turning 12, i got a mega drive. (genesis for some) with fifa soccer. choose the console mainly because of super monaco GP II featuring ayrton senna. fell in love for games like sonic, side pocket, fifa soccer and NBA live. also very impressed with virtua racing.

in 1997, made a trip to paraguay to buy my sega saturn. yes, i was stupid enough to do that. reason was that i wanted badly to play sega rally and daytona USA.

in the middle of 1998 i see an edition of EGM in a newstand. the main story is about gran turismo. my life changed right there. really. i had to get myself a playstation to play that. in july of that year i once again traveled to paraguay, and bought a playstation, already with a Dual shock and gran turismo.

played this game endlessly, but i had time for some other games like NBA live, tomb raider, toca racing car, need for speed, colin mcrae and mortal kombat.
in december of 1999 i got my copy of GT2 and i played this game thru 2004.

saw a contest in a mag, and for the first time saw that i was really good at something. started making times for racing-line.org and i got to be the world´s #1 gran turismo player by june of 2003. i know, kind of bragging stuff, but to me its the biggest acomplishment of my life so far. in 2004 i participated on a national playstation tournament. had the best time in the qualify, because the game in question was gran turismo. then, in the end, having to play other games in the next levels of that championship, i finished 3rd overall, mostly because i sucked at tony hawk and tekken.

in 2004 worked relentlessly in politics, and got myself a good payment in a one month job. used ALL that money to buy a playstation 2, something i dreamed since 2000. waited painfully to the realese of GT4, and ended up finding GTP thru gamerankings.com

got the game in march of 2005, and i have to confess that i almost cried when i first saw the intro. i´m really addicted to GT, but i still had time for a lot of Madden, def jam, NBA live and other games like need for speed and colin mcrae in the PS2.

right now, i´m reading everything i can about the PS3 and since i work now, i hope to get one as soon as i can. i´m really excited about the JGTC series, and while i´m dissapointed that i couldn´t get back to the performance level that i was back with GT2, i´m more comfortable that i finally got the monkey off my back and won a WRS, just a month ago.

that´s it i think, o wrote a lot. probably because i´m a journalist... or the fact that i have nothing to do right now, but still, it was fun remembering things like frostbite:dopey:

Well, my name is Justin Filizola (see, my user name isn’t so original) and am 17 years of age. Right now I’m in the Denver Metro area, but before Colorado, I lived in Florida for two years, but before Florida, I was born and raised about 20 min. out of New Orleans. Most of my family back home was displaced by Katrina, though. Most everyone in my family I’ve talked to wants to move back, but there is no infrastructure to speak of. But, I know God will see all of the Gulf Coast through this.

Other than GT4, some of my pastimes are skateboarding, biking, or watching my little brother. But what I am really passionate about is the arts. I am a poet/writer/filmmaker. I have two poems published in a book printed by one of the poetry sites I post on. Here is the site, if you’re interested:
http://www.poemhunter.com/andrew-phillips/poet-61703/
I also just had two of my pieces printed through my school’s Literary Magazine. My two friends and I have just finished a film for an Fine Arts comp., so I’m really excited for that right now.

Plus, I’m music freak. I’ve always been more into the ‘90’s and today’s alternative stuff: Switchfoot, dcTalk, Newsboys, Third Day, Skillet, Superchic[k], MercyMe, U2, Flyleaf (a new band, just released a moth ago, you should check them out), Delirious? and so on. Unfortunately, I have this curse to remember good one-liners from songs, and they just get stuck in my head, so that is what you see in my signature: random quotes. I can’t go a day without listening to at least one album. I go insane. I do.

But on a serious note, what really defines me is my involvement with my church. My two friends and I met at our church. We are making videos for our church. On Sunday mornings, I help out in Children’s Service. I feel the Lord is calling me to be a youth pastor, and I am going to college to get degree in that field.

hello everyone, my name is Abdeslam Charkaoui. Im 19 years old and i was born on 14 04 1987

I live in Amsterdam, the capital city of Holland and i lived there my whole live.

I like gaming, soccer and im getting crazy when it comes to cars and racing. I just love knowing eveything about them and im watching a alot of car shows. I like knowing people from the other side of the planet, like how they live and stuff.

I don't have a car, but i do want to buy one:(. But im currently using my bike to ge were i need to go.

Thats what i know from now:dopey: 👍

Well, guess I'll go next.

My name is Scott, I live in Rocklin, California. About 100 miles northeast of San Francisco. I'm married and have 2 boys, 3 and 5, and all that keeps me very busy.

I'm an engineer at a microchip plant by day (yes, I wear a bunnysuit in a cleanroom regularly) and I build performance parts for cars like mine when I get time between family junk and GT4.

I also am an instructor for a few groups that host track days here in California so about once a month or so you can find me at the racetrack making sure newbies don't kill themselves or bend their expensive toys. It's always fun to see the looks on new drivers' faces in Corvettes, Porsches, Ferraris, etc as a guy in an unassuming looking '92 Nissan Sentra passes them. Used to autocross a lot but haven't since the local pads got shut down.

I've driven on Laguna Seca and Infineon (sports car configuration) and I've been to Yosemite (does that mean I've driven El Capitain? :^) ). Now I need to ship my little car to Europe to hit the 'Ring, Monaco, etc...

I've only missed one week of WRS since the GT4 version started. Qualified in D2, and promoted up to D1 after some time and getting my DFP. I'm pretty useless on the DS2 now except for rally weeks.

Anyway, I look forward to running out this series and can't wait to see how things pan out. I've really taken a hit these last few weeks as far as WRS time is concerned, but I'll keep submitting there. Just not going to finish as well I fear...

That's it for me.

Later!

-SHig

p.s. Hey appie17, what's with the "ma" avatar?

Hi my name is Luke

I live in Sydney, NSW, Australia. To be more specific the south west part in fairfield council area.
I am 17 years of age and am currnetly in my last year of school. My subjects are Physics, Chemistry, 2unit Maths, standard english, and businmess studies. I also do an extra TAFE course which is sought of like the industrial uni (for u non aussies). The course is Automtouve mechanical.

I have a part time job working on computers and software. Used to have another job in an office doin paper work for a mortgage broker but i was working for a shifty greek. Are greeks shifty in other countries when it comes to business?

I drive my dads car. Can't take picture of it as he currently has it in queensland.
Any way it is a Mazda 3 SP23. They are also known as an axela in other countries.

Ahh can't think of anything else at the moment. I'm on holidays and its 1:30 am so if there is errors bad luck.

Ok, I'll have at it now.

My name is Eric James Rudderham. Like fasj, I use my initials for my user name, in pretty much everything(hotmail, BF2, other fourms, and anything else I sign up for). The _1 is just what I added to the end of it on MSN when I first used it because ejr had all ready been taken :grumpy:. I live in Canada, on they very east cost, in Sydney. It's cold here ATM. I'm 18 and am just finishing highschool. Two months left!!! I am currently un-employed, but I am looking into a job in the Canadian Forces. A little outta shape ATM, but I have started running and working out. :)

Acedemicly, I am very unmotivated. Not to say I'm stupid, but I don't do any work(perhaps that's stupid?) I have never failed a course I have taken, but came very close. I got a 50 in Physics 12 :(. I am currenly taking Math, Biology, Geography and Computer Programming (Java).

Recenlty I obtained my lisence, but I don't have a car, and my parents won't insure my on their Kia. I am a big car fan, but around here, there isn't much for car shows. Thank god for the internet! I am really into sports car racing such as Speed GT and TC, ALMS, GARRA, and a bunch of others that don't useally air on SpeedTV :(. My favorite car would have to be....................... umm, well, I don't really know. It changes so much, and I love so many, I can't really decide. It would most likly be a C6 Vette Z06.

As for GT, I have owned GT2, 3 and 4. The first time I played 2, I borrowed it from my cousin to play multiplayer with my brother. All I really knew how to do was rally. Eventually my friend bought it and won some races, and when I saw the cars you could get, I wanted it for myself. So I bought it :). I have 100% completed GT2 and GT3, but I can't seem to be bothered to finish GT4. I am currenly at 75% ish. As for OLR, this series pretty much covers it. I had joined a few others around here like the ESES, V8 SC's and the DTM, but 2 of them disappeared, and I didn't really enjoy the DTM series.

As for other games I play, there isn't that many. Currently, I only play GT4 for my PS2, though I do plan on buying TT. Most of my other games are for PC, and include BF2, F.E.A.R., FarCry and the up-and-coming GR:AW. I want to get a racing sim such as GTR or LFS, but I don't have a wheel. If anyone play BF2, here is my stats on BF2S.

Other things I like include sports, though I don't get out much to play any(I live in the middle of the woods, about 10 min away from town, with noone to hang around with for a few miles.). Hockey is currenly my sport of choice... GO DEVILS!!!... I also bike, but not recenly since it's still a weee bit too cold for my liking, and play Paintball. I currenly own a Tippy C98 with a BT barrel, iron sight and stock, which make it look like a very long M4. I hate it now, so I am trying to sell it. I plan on purchasing an MKX8 if I get the money:drool: .

A bit about my stature, as I'm sure you all care: I'm 6'0, 185 lbs. I'm pretty much an average Canadian 18 year old male(at least around here). I also have the sexiest goatee in all of eastern Canada .

Well, I guess that is all. Great idea for a thread Eats. I'm not ever going to refer to you as your name, as it is too hard to remember.

PS: There is a reason I didn't type this up in CP, it took me 20 min  . And click on the links, they are fun ;).

EDIT!!!! : Music. How could I forget . I listen to mostly rock/metal. Some of the bands I listen to are Linkin Park, Disturbed, SOAD, Slipknot, Trivium, Emery Breaking Benjamin, and whatever else I happen to hear and like. I have a few music nuts as friends and just hangin around with them throws in a few new bands each week. I also enjoy pop music if I don't have a CD in the car or am with my dad or if my mom and brother are there, and it's the only thing on the radio. I do, on the other hand, hate most of the stuff that came out of the 80's :guilty:, don't hurt me.

Autobiography:

Left home to see world. Came back later. Started college. Ran out of money. Worked as mechanic, saved money. Went back and finished college. Got job with big corporation. Developed hatred for big corporation. Saved money, nailed together house, adopted animals. Finally got enough money to live as hermit and escaped Wonderful World of Commerce. Now reflecting on meaning of life.

Well I suppose I could go next!

Hi guys, my real name is Neil, my R/L nick is Stumpy.
On here I much prefer to be called Bttw or Neil.

I have been a member of the WRS from Wk 2, and rarely miss a race. Sometimes I race, but don't submit a time tho, it depends on whether I feel that I have given it my best-shot or not!

I'm 38 years old, divorced from the ex-witch but now engaged to a lovely lady called Anne. I have no children of my own, but work as a self employed professional foster carer for teenegers.

I am a biker at heart, and have been riding since the age of 18 (I don't even have my car licence yet) My last ride was a beautiful 115Bhp Kawasaki ZZR-600 (I unfortunately crashed it last year, cos a bleedin van driver pulled out infront of me and I hit a patch of diesel avoiding him), but I have owned customs, naked-road, and sports bikes in my riding career. Now saving up for a replacement ZZR, but the 900 version this time.

I have owned and played all of the GT titles, and GT4 is the only game I play on the PS2. On the PC I have an extensive library of games (probably in the region of 150 games) and at the minute I am playing Medieval Total War, AOE III, Farcry, F.E.A.R., NFS Porche 2000, and GTR.

Outside of the house I play League pool for a 1st division team, and the occasional match of snooker. Unfortunately I have very bad knee's (osteo arthiritis and ligament/tendon damage) caused by too many assualt courses and long runs whilst in the Army, and too many injuries whilst playing county level squash, badminton and rugby in my younger years. :(
So now that's the only sport I can play until I persuade the doctor's that I should have my knee's replaced.

I have very ecclectic music tastes, anything from Led Zep and Pink Floyd to Offspring and System of a down. Alan Parsons to Alanis Morriset, Bach to Vangellis and Tangerine Dream. Therefor I have a 180Gb HDD full of music to choose from on the PC.
My DVD collection is almost as bad, over 350 titles (excluding the series' I collect) from the classics to the latest releases. Big Stargate SG1 fan, and have a complete collection from the film and pilot episode right up to series 8 on dvd (series 9 I have downloaded), also Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica feature heavily in my Sci-fi series collection as well

Anyway, I think that will do, as most of you already know me from the WRS.

Laters Dudes!

It was a cold dark night.....nevermind!!
My name is Richard Andrew Saylor,I was born in Ohio,May 10th. nineteenblahblahblah moved to Montreal at age 13, then at 16 moved to New York till after highschool. My first job after high school was driving taxi in New York City. Wanted to get away from New York so moved to Florida where I still live. Did a few years of college, met my "to be" wife and quit college. Worked in a print shop to make some money, they eventually trained me to run the presses, after years of being a printer I bought the company and own and operate it to this day. My wife and I have 2 daughters that are currently in college.
Did some Formula Volkswagon racing when I first got to Florida but couldn't afford to keep it up, plus I wasn't very good!!
Most my friends in Florida are professional musicians, back in the '80's I traveled all over the US and Europe with them on tour, mainly Blues,Rockin Blues and Rock music. Wanted to be a famous guitar player, but I'm about as good on guitar as I am GT4....so, no go!! Do have a nice collection of guitars, but have been selling them off recently to help finance my car hobby.
Currently just finished a total frame-off restoration of my 1970 Chevelle Malibu. It has a 350ci Crate engine, balanced and blueprinted with a Holley 4 barrel blueprinted to the engine. 330 hp at the brake, 12 bolt posi rear with 373 gears, Hurst 4 on the floor and a lumpy cam. Good for the street, but setup more for quarter mile. I'm about to go to Indiana to pick-up a 1951 Chevy panel truck. Going to paint it the same as the Chevelle and have a custom trailer made with ralley wheels that match the Chevelle. Then use the truck to trail the Chevelle to far away shows. A classic towing a classic...can't wait.Do lots of local shows and have won many trophies, took overall best of show in my last outing. It looks like it just came off the showroom floor and runs like a scared rabbit.
Have one room in my house devoted totally to racing (one daughter moved out) and spend my evenings in there trying to keep up with you younger guys. As you guys are still improving and reaching your peak, I'm trying to just maintain. The reflexes aren't what they used to be. The first video game I ever played was GT3, a customer mentioned this great racing game, so I went out and got a PS2 and GT3 and have been a huge fan since. My daughters think it's great that the old man plays video games.
Oh yeah, how could I forget, one of my greatest joys is my dog "Maximo", 110 pounds of love. Max goes everywhere with me, he loves going to work everyday and even goes to customers offices with me. Unlike kids, he never talks back. Like the old saying "A dog is the only animal that will love you more then they love themselves" My children swear I treat him better then I ever treated them.....they may be right!
OK, I'm done, just want to say I really enjoy and treasure the friends I've made here and look forward to many years of GT and GTP. I just bought the lifetime membership, it's good till 2036...I'll be...umm very very old before I have to renew. Hey guys, stay young at heart, no matter what your age, it keeps you young.

Nice to meet you Drew22. Now if you'd only explain what "Puzzle Factory" means! :^)

Nice to meet you Drew22. Now if you'd only explain what "Puzzle Factory" means! :^)

-SHig
You too Scott, to answer your question, my esteemed partner shockwaveracing came up with that...and I never asked him where it came from. Guess I'll have to do that.

Lifetime membership coming up for me too, probably Friday (Payday)

And don't let Drew suck you all in........

Like me, he's only as young as the woman he feels. Older than what's left of his hair, but younger than his teeth!
:p

one of the problems with getting this old, intro's can get long winded :grumpy: so let's just say I was born on June 12, when dirt was new :ouch: and that I'm so old that fart dust

Grew up on the streets of Boston, Mass., USA. Learned martial arts, akin to our friend EV4L, I mixed boxing, judo, and 3 styles of karate with akido. Attained 3 ? black and the rest brown. Did the tournament thing, what they now call "ultimate fighting". Fought around the world, loads of trophies. Now I practice "Ahimsa" ... Ghandi....non-agressive behavior... unless you piss me off enough :trouble: then I just use a few "finger taps" as it were to let them know, "not here".

First car that I raced. 1976 Celica, bored, balanced, six carbs (Webbers) 3/4 race cam, lowered to 4" of ground, flared with 19".... had to have a truck clutch system installed :(, koni's around ..... this was a new car ! If you live long enough, things come around.

Old war dog. Special forces, traveled world. Saw things no one should. Did things, well.... you'd like me as a friend, just not dating your sister :D Actualy got sent to the "first Gulf war", don't get me started:guilty: in handcuffs.... 18 hrs. later jumping over Iraq ... shouting "do you know how old I am ?":irked: still dealing with the guilt of not being there this time. First war I've missed since '78... yea, I'm that old :( and yeah :( America has been in many wars since then.

Bought the DFP long before the game came out :grumpy: and have been chasing your young butts ever since :sly: I haven't been doing the GT thing long. I've got a GameSeat cockpit, which I've had to pad up a bit for my bony butt :ouch: The first video game I ever played, Pong in Japan 78 ? somewhere around there.

You'd be surprised with my music. Grew up on early rap ... Bootsie, Parliment and Funkadelic, who was Parliment before they changed. Love the new stuff out.... yes, rock/ metal .... old Flyod and windowpane  :dopey: ahh... youth.... toss in some Jazz and you get the ecletic mix that is me :dopey:

enough, where are results of R1 ?
I'm ready to lose some wieght :sly:

Well, I think there’s time to introduce myself, just after my first - and hope, not the last -podium finish…:dopey:
My real name is Nemeth Laszlo, I was born May 10 1976, on the very same day as Drew 22 and only one day before as ev4l did, just in different years. I live in one of the most beautiful town in Europe: Budapest, the capitol of Hungary. I’m close to the age of 30, just a step ahead of marriage and family life, so I’m a little bit stressed, because in my mind, I’m still a child.
I bought the PS2 about two years ago, but the fever of playing infected me nowadays, thanks to the makers of the „real driving simulator”. As the NBA slogan says: I love this game! I ran in a hungarian GT4 forum, we made time trials against each other, but I wanted something else, so here I am on GTP.
How did I become GTXDriver?
In the real life, I have a Mazda 323 4WD Turbo, a.k.a. GTX and I’m the driver. So simple…I love this car very much. She’s (because I AM SURE, she’s a female monster with a lot of sensitivity and jealousy) a scary little b***h. She has 194 HP with higher turbo pressure, K&N air filter, 2 inch muffler and a central differential lock in the all-wheel drive system for much more fun, especially in the snow.:mad:
She’s my second GTX, the first was totally wrecked down in a serious accident. I’ve crashed with a bus, because the other driver was careless and didn’t stop at the sign. I almost died 16 August 2002 because of somebody else…But I live, I’m healthy and it’s over, seems like a bad dream.
In my casual time I like reading, modelling (now building a Tamiya 1/24 Nissan R89C), watching movies (The grudge…huhhh!!!) and, of course, playing simulators like GT4 and Richard Burns Rally (yeah,it’s cool and perfect!!!).
Now I’m working as a security officer in a bank, that’s my job now. I was forced into this situation, because I need a lot of free time (I’m a schoolboy now) AND money. I usually work on every third day, so I have enough time and money for these things. After finishing the school I want to do something very different. It’s not a big deal to being a slave.:odd:

See you on the raceway: Laci

I was born in 1981 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I lived there for 8 years, until my family moved to Massachussets, east of Worcester. By that age, I was already into my two big passions, riding bicycles and playing video games.

I'm not much into sports but any chance I get I like to ride my bike. I usually ride 30-40 miles, at a time, so I get to explore new places. Nothing competitive. Just a fun thing to do outside.

Gaming progressed from NES and Sega to PC games (when I downloaded the first Quake demo... 12mb took an eternity over 28.8kps). I was kind of on the forefront of the Lanparty explosion. I organized some pretty big (30+) lanparties at the height of popularity. Then, everyone started getting highspeed Internet and the lanparty sort of lost it's function (no lag!). For a few years, the only game I played was Counter-Strike online. It was always on this one server, Purdue Doug's Death Shack, hosted at Purdue University. They set up a forum and it became quite a cool community. Then the admin graduated and the server shut down. A few people paid to host a replacement, but I was ready to be done with CS, at that point. After high school, CS, and lanparties, I went to college for a Comp. Sci. degree. I liked programming but decided I didn't want it for a career so I changed to MIS. I graduated last year and have been taking it easy (my uncle laughs and calls me a slacker... my parents tell him I earned it). My apartment (aka. Game Central) is 20 minutes from my parents so I still sort of live at home. I'm looking for a job in the IT support field. Eventually, I'd like to be a project manager for big IT projects (installing new technologies, etc.). I credit video games and lanparties with steering me toward a career in IT.

Cars I've had are:
1985 Chrysler New Yorker
1990 Chrysler Lebaron
1992 Toyota Celica GT hatchback

What I'd like next is either a Miata or Toyota MR2.

A couple years ago, a friend and I wanted to fix up a car for club racing. We got an '85 BMW 325e for $200. Pretty bad shape but I figured it didn't have to be great to have fun. We decided we weren't mechanics and had it towed away. GT4 is where I race now.

Hey Soyfu, funny you bought that BMW, in 1985 I bought a new 325ES, the very first brand new car I ever purchased. Paid more for that car then the house I was living in at the time, about $28,000 in 1985!!! I kept it for 5 years and loved it, at the time it was about the only car on the road with ABS. Wish I still had it, I had custom ground effects and a custom grille with square lights all bought in Germany and shipped over, you could always recognise my Beemer from all the others. Thanks for making me remember that ride!!!

Just go over the snow!!!

How's the truck doing...done any shows?

My name is Cameron, but everybody just calls me Cam...much easier. I was born in February 1989 (which makes me 17) and I have lived in Melbourne Australia my whole live. I recently finished school about 4 weeks ago and I'm loving every minute of it, except for the lack of sleep part. I'm all set to go to University next year to continue on with my I.T certificate (i was lucky enough to start it 2 years ago), but i wont be sure until the 11th if I'm actually in yet...but I'm quietly confident.

Being 17 I am not old enough to have a licence yet, so I don't see the point of owning a car now. But I am saving my money, not quite sure what I'm looking for yet. I love driving, in Australia it is advised that you get at least 120 hours of practise on your learner licence, i reckon i got that within the first 6 months . I just need to wait a few more months and i will have my licence, so I'm looking forward to that.

I love sport, I have been playing Aussie rules footy (which only other Aussies would have heard of lol) since i was 7. I started a year early in the under 10's all those years ago, and now I'm playing in the under 18's. I have made many life friends from playing footy at my club, you gain an unbreakable bond with everyone you play with over the years...and that's what I love about playing sport. This year we made the Grand Final, but unfortunately lost by 9 points, which is a close game for those who aren't familiar with the sport. I was very disappointed, but I'll be there next year training hard.

I can watch almost every sport on TV, even golf and occasionally Lawn Bowls  I just love sport in general, and admire anyone who can make it to the to the top level regardless of what sport it is. But having said that, I'm not a big fan of soccer/football. I just don't like the whole fall over after just being tapped part of the game, but I can still watch highlights of some soccer matches...because you don't see that side of the sport.

My first gaming console experience was a Sega Mega Drive (or was it the Master Drive?...) It had a 'built in game' called Alex the Kid, that was the only game i played...I loved it.

A few years later I got a PS1 for my birthday, the first game I got for it was Gran Turismo 1. I played that game a lot, but because of my poor skills (i choose to blame my age for that) I couldn't get very far in the game.

The next console was the PS2, along with GT3 as my first game. That's when I really started enjoying the GT series, a year later or so I bought GT4. Since that game went into my PS2 its hardly left it.

That's about all I can think of to write. I'm sure there is more to add, but oh well I can always edit :)

Well, I've been here since the JGTC test season and I guess I missed this thread last season, so here goes... :)

My real name is Steve and I was born in 1976 in rural England. My father is Canadian and my mother is South African, and they were both opera singers (yes, really) so from the word go I was fortunate to see a lot of the world.

When I was 6 my family moved to Vancouver, Canada where I first discovered video games with the old NES and Super Mario Bros. (the first one). At one point I also owned a Sega but not for terribly long as I remember being fairly unimpressed with it. Many years of playing platform games with my best friend there and I still have some odd-looking veins in my thumbs that probably shouldn't be there

When I was 13 my family moved to Cape Town, South Africa where I still live today...well, sort of (more on that in a minute). The NES stayed behind and I got my first PC (an old NEC V30 XT for those who remember). I discovered the world of adventure games with all the old Sierra Quest titles, and learned to type playing those things. I still don't touch-type believe it or not, but I'm the fastest hunt-n-peck typist I know :)

From XT to 386 to 486 to P1 to P2 to P3 to P4 the only Intel architecture I never owned was a 286. I was a DOS afficionado back in the day though I've lost a lot of those skills now. My gaming focus remained on the PC for many years, and I'm still a big FPS fan and play a lot of WoW at the moment (when I have time). My first racing game experience was the original Need For Speed on the PC.

I used to fight the good fight in the PC-console debate (and I still maintain PC games are better :trouble: ) but when I saw GT1 on the PS I was hooked. Though I never bought a PS, I played GT1 and completed GT2 on a borrowed console. As many others did, I bought my PS2 for the sole purpose of playing GT3, and I was in the store on launch day picking up my copy of GT4.

I spent the first several years of my career as a software engineer, but this past year has seen me moving further afield into what can only be described by that generic term "IT Consultant" :sly: I've hopped between Australia, Switzerland, and India these last 12 months working on a transit ticketing project in Australia. While in Switzerland, I met an awesome girl, I've recently taken a contract with a Swiss transport revenue company I was working with previously, and I've relocated here semi-permanently (though I still have a house in South Africa).

My car history:
1989 VW Citi Golf 1.6 (my student car)
1995 Hyundai Elantra 1.6 GLS (first car I bought myself, I referred to the A/C button as the "turbo button", since I had to turn the A/C off if I wanted enough power to overtake  )
1996 VW Golf Mk. III VR6 (great engine, but torque steer like you wouldn't believe)
1995 Ford TX5 2.5 V6 (only owned this car for about 5 months, not terribly impressed largely because of the FWD and spongy suspension)
2001 BWM 325i (my first new car, good engine, usual BMW "suspension for the common driver", read "understeer")
2004 Mazda RX-8 ( I'd buy this car again just for the gearbox)

My RX-8 is now sitting at an exotic car dealership in Cape Town, waiting for another loving enthusiast to care for her ;)

What else (bored yet?)...used to play guitar extensively, I was in 3 bands though neither actually went anywhere. My focus has always been rock/metal, I'm a qualified sound engineer, and I managed a few local bands for a while back in the day.

I think that sums it up. If you're still reading, congratulations, you've won a personalized felt tip pen. Just send $20 for shipping to... :sly:

Hey Steve, can I get a loan for that $20? :sly:

So yeah... I missed this thread last season as well, and have been putting off getting back to it for a while. I act like my life is really busy, and it is, but I could definitely make some more time for many things... I'm always doing SOMETHING. :)

And, being that I'm that lazy, here's my intro that I posted over in the WRS forums back when I started. I'll continue/add stuff after it. :sly:

(sorry in advance for the lengthy intro...)

Hello hello, this is a good idea. I'm Kyle, still 20, looking forward to turning 21 in a few months... ;) ;). Been playing the GT series ever since it came out. Didn't originally play GT1 much because I didn't have a PS1, but I loved it when I could play it, and I actually like a few of the features that it had better than any of the other GT series. Got into GT2 playing at friend's houses a bit, and then ended up getting my friend's old PS1 after it broke(and I fixed it). Then I got myself GT1, played it, then traded it in for GT2. Which I've played and beaten probably 4/5 times, but never could get it to 100%, I didn't know I was supposed to get all golds! Got a corrupt memory card on that pretty often if I wasn't careful, so much for having multi-millions and 100 cars. My favorite combo was the Subaru Legacy GTB wagon with racing modifications on Grand Valley, one of the Grand Touring races I think? Blue and yellow, awesome stuff!

Blah blah, played GT3 on my friend's PS2 over the years since it's been out, then finally got it earlier this year from my friend when he didn't want it anymore, got to somewhere around 68% and then GT4 came out. I've been borrowing it from a friend for the past month, and yesterday I had to return it to him, so no more WRS for me most likely for a while. And if I do submit something, it'll be only after a couple of laps, so nothing to write home about. :-\

And anywho, how I got here was by Pat, Tuff240, who will by my future roommate. I know him from the volvo forums that I frequent, and our Volvo 240GLT(in GT4) competitions on Turbobricks.com. One day he was without internet and asked me to log in here and see what the week's combo was... TT at the Ring. I was in.

So here I am. 20 yo male in Oregon.
My car is a 1968 Volvo 142

SO! I am no longer 20, I'm 22, and living in SW Portland, OR. I'm born and raised in Oregon, and love this place dearly. I think the only other place I'd ever live would be Germany... :sly: I love that place too. Went there for a month on an exchange program in highschool back in 2001? or so, and then went back again for a MEASLY 4 days!!! On a spring break the next year. That was somewhat dumb. 4 days was crap, should've been for life, but yeah. Those were the cheaper plane tickets. The main reason for my going back was to visit my exchange partner who had been diagnosed with cancer and had her leg amputated from the knee down. She's still up and around, but still fighting it as well, it's spread up to her lungs even... :(

I currently work as an automotive technician(aka mechanic) in a small(I'm the only employee) shop in NW Portland, and I like it for the most part. Definitely not what I want to do with the rest of my life, but it's what I'm doing now and I don't know what I'll be doing later on. I'm ok with that right now. Except for the fact that I'm not getting enough hours, so I'm looking half-heartedly for another job to fill in some spaces and provide more NEEDED funding.

And lastly, I have another car now, one of the nicest mostly original condition Volvo 240s you'll find in the US, currently sleeping in the garage for the winter. And I have a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250 motorcycle... I could've had something that's just the same for half the price if I had the patience to buy a used bike, and at this point, I really wish I had as I'm strapped for cash like no other. Credit card? Don't look at my bank statement. If I wasn't SOMEwhat smart with my money, I'd be dead right now. But, if I hadn't bought the bike new, I wouldn't have had the best Ninja paint job sold in the past 20 years, and I WOULD have to pay for maintenence for the first three years. Granted, I could do my own maintenence if I had the balls to sit down and learn it, but I don't have to right now, so I don't.

Cars are definitely my life, and forums for cars and gran tourismo consume me. Along with facebook and myspace... :guilty: :sly: :)

Now, where's that points standings thread that was going to get posted earlier this week??? :p
