Today started fine, I woke up and went with my family to church. When we were coming back there was a sheriff in front of my neighbors house and three of my neighbors were talkin to him. I assumed their cars had been egged again and that my sisters probably was too. I was way wrong. They had keyed most of the peoples cars on the street and keyed the hell out of my car, a '98 Trans Am that seems to be the favortie target in recent history. Since I got my car ( Apr. 24, 2006 ) it has been hit 3 times. The first within days of getting it and then 2 times in the last week. But this last one is by far the worst. The scratch goes down the entire left side of my car and got damn near to gettin down to bare metal, but its still deep enough that scratch remover won't work on most of it. This is an increasing problem in my neighborhood and is gettin real annoying when these jealous bastiges are tearin peoples stuff up.

Have you had your car keyed right in front of your house? If so did you catch them and if you did how did you do it, because I want to sue these people and get my car fixed from the crap they keep doin to it.

Nope, I've had someone do a hit and run on my car, just the other week. But I've enver had a car keyed, that really sucks.

Damn that is harsh. Is your car parked on street or on a driveway?

If I was you I'd stay up all night with a paintball gun and nail the gits, whether it's legal I'm not sure but neither is keying your car.

Set up a camcorder to capture any action? You could hook it up to your PC if you have TV in and record hours/days worth of video at a time, then watch it back at double or quadruple speed for anyone doing anything to the car. At best you're looking at a physical description though, you almost certainly wouldn't get facial features from that.

Although I never had a problem like yours before, I may be able to help you a bit. I remember this happening long ago in my previous neighborhood where the neighbors cars kept on getting their car broken into and taking nearly anything of value. What the neighbors did was each house got out their video camera and have it pointed through a window looking at their own car. Eventually all of the camera caught this one person easily unlocking cars with some kind of clothes hanger and taking stuff away. I find it quite amusing how it ended up being a teenager that lives in the neighborhood.

You should get your neighbors to help with setting up video cameras pointed at their own car. The bastard might come back without even noticing he is getting recorded.

Why not get one of those small button cameras and place it discretely in the car 💡

I've had my 3000GT VR4 keyed, egged, and hit repeatedly infront of my house. I finally found out who was doing it (neighbor 1 street up) and let's just say they not only had to replace a few windows in their house but make a slightly large insurance claim on their at the time brand new Mustang Cobra. Guy rule number 1, don't **** with a man's car...PERIOD. The gloves are off when you mess with my car. I hope you find out who did this to your car, and good luck with what you decide to do about it.

It's on the street cuz we only have a 2 car driveway and a garge full of crap. So me and my sister have to park on the street. Oddly enough they didn't key her car. UP till now it's been mainly her car gettin egged not mine. But whenever something happens to mine it seems to allows result in expensive damage not just egg to clean off.

@ Amp88 and Little Bahamut

My parents are thinkin about doin just that with gettin a camera and setting it up in the window to watch our cars. I want to get a small camera or two to put in my car so I can get a more detailed picture of anyone who gets near my car.

  I'd say he might've learned his lesson from that punishment. Also how did you find out?

If I figure out who it is I'll probably sue them or something and make them pay for the damages not to mention all the all people's cars they damged and then maybe a year from now or so they'll have an unpleasant surprise waiting for them when they go to their car.:trouble:

Consider yourself lucky! Some ass smashed my passenger window earlier this year, stole my rear view mirror and a radar scanner.

Police didn't do squat....

I have countless scratches and dents on the driver's side of my car. Another huge dent on my trunk lid. These idiot kids who do this, I hope they get theirs. It's as good as them stealing few hundred bucks from me, with only difference being that I can choose when I lose that money. That would be when I sell and trade my car in.

He so happend to be a friend of a friend. And I heard through the grapevine that he was boasting about "jacking up some clowns VR4" so obviously since the VR4 is VERY rare in the USA much less my area it was a simple deduction to figure out. That and his girlfriend admitted it to me after she broke up with him, so that sealed the case for me. I don't condone illegal activites...but still I will not hesitate to do it again if someone jacks up my car. :grumpy:

Once, back in the NYC, in a snowstorm my mom shoveled out a space for her car and someone stole it. She got really mad, and after she chased them out of her spot (that I shoveled out so I helped a lot), the next week every day all four tires were slashed. The police didnt give a ****. Just like the time we got our house robbed and the cops never called back.

There is one solution to all of this:

'Mantrap'

'Sure, it's not legal but your car is worth more than their lives' (Ford Telstar exempt.) - Classic line there.

Getting your car damaged by someone else is not cool, and I know how you feel. If I were you I'd do all I could to find them out. Hidden cameras or...

You + 6pk. RedBull + Paintball gun + Many nights up = Death by your own terms. Good luck!

I know how ya feel, so I know your pain. A couple of years ago I walked out of my buddies house at 4am to find 3 scratches running from my front headlights to my brake lights. That same night they also tried to light 3 buses on fire that were parked around the corner and keyed some other guys car down the street.

Cops won't do anything, and the sad part is, if you do anything to them the only person they will charge is you. The best thing to do is set up a camera or wait up to see if you can see them. If you know them, find out where they live and get your revenge. The law is lazy both ways, so most likely you'll feel better knowing you got them back while getting away with it like they did. :D

If anyone knows what it's like to have a car vandalised it's my mom. A few years back she had a top pf the line Ford Escort (Good car may I say) which she had worked a lot for. One night she looks out of the window and it isn't there! It's been nicked! So she alerts the police and one week later it is found with another 10k miles on the clock. So that's gone... after a year of using my dad's car (A Ford Granada) she gets an MG ZR 105+ and no less than 3 days later we wake up one morning and the wheels are gone. What makes it worse is the fact that the jack holding it up had collapsed and the car had sunk into the wet mud (It was heavy rain the night before) and when the car was being pulled out a chunk of the skirt got stuck and got ripped off so that went in for repairs, the courtesy car? a 1.3 Nissan Micra, we had that for longer than we had the ZR! My mom has always had bad luck with cars, a lorry took the wing mirror off of her Citroen Xantia, her Citroen AX got hit by a lorry running some red lights, then last year when she was driving my dad's previous Mondeo a Land Rover Discovery went into the front of us. Now someone has scraped the paint off of the back bumper of her current C-Class while she was shopping. I really feel for her, she works really hard to pay for her cars too.

Oh, this is one of the few instances that I don't mind breakin the law. That's how I'm figurin I'm gunna find out if I ever do. I'm pretty sure it's someone from the neighborhood behind ours cuz they have a habit of comin over here and destroying stuff and then running back there to hide. So I'm just kinda snoopin around and tryin to find info without people knowin that I'm tryin to find someone.

Yep, I think I'm gunna try that. I'm fairly confident they live within a mile of my house. Probably in the neighborhood I mentioned above. It's full of mexicans, blacks, rednecks and stuff and they all give me a dirty look when I go by if I'm in my car or just skatin.

Dang! That's some crappy luck there. I feel bad for her. Hopefully her luck will change eventually.

I'll post some pics later if I can get access to my parent scamera.

Well to tell you the truth xXSilencerXx, her luck with cars hasn't been as bad recently, she's gone for 30 minutes so far without her car been blown up!

Anyway, GT Pro is right, Mantrap, it's the only way to go. Hide in the bushes with two large branches off of a tree, when they appear take note of what car they arrive in, I'll tell you why later, anyway when they are near your car, throw 1 branch on the ground next to them* this will distract them for long enough, then throw the other one behind them so they turn around. Now this is the fun bit, get a toy chainsaw** and a hockey mask. Then jump out at them and start screaming and shouting. If this goes to plan they should wet themselves, run away and never come back. Mission accomplished

*At them is fine, if you want to get locked up and miss the fun part

**A real chainsaw works even better

EDIT: My mom's car has just blown up, and she was just about to be her personal best too! Dangit!

Never had my car keyed when living in london. It seems to be more of a problem up noth and in the midlands though.

Just get one of those fake security camera's or if you have the money a real one to deter the bastards.

Here's what you do, get yourself a .22 (or a blank gun, it doesn't matter) and the loudest ammunition possible (Winchester Xpert .22 Hollowpoints work well). Practice target shooting at night. Alot.

May not be viable where you live, but it's perfectly legal where I live (about thirty feet outside of city limits), and I don't have any problems with theft. And if someone is dumb enough to come back again, well, you're armed.

It's supposedly worst up North, but even though Manchester is apparently the third worst for car crimes in the UK, I've not seen many, but that might be more down to where in Manchester I live.

Nottingham is supposedly the worst out of 55 tested cities, with London appearing 29th. But the study thoes figures are based on has come under fire for not presenting accurate information.

UPDATE: I 've just jad a nose modification by way of trailer hitch.

Last friday I was driving down 610 towards 95 at about 7 p.m., so there was some traffic. I was cruisin in the middle lane with about a car length between me and the guy in front of me when this guy in a Trail Blazer squeezes in right in front of me from the left lane. As soon as he got centered in the lane the guy in front of him stopped suddenly and he stopped too. But my car being much lower and the fact I hadn't had time to fall back I couldn't see that people were stopping till it was too late. I slammed into the back of his truck, but never actually touched the truck. I only hit the hitch on his truck. I estimate I was doin about 20 mph when I hit him because I had just been doin 35 and had about 2 sec to brake. My car also had the ABS come on cuz it was raining s that didn't help.

Anyway we pulled over and his truck was fine so he didn't want any insurance info so I didn't give him any and I didn't ask for any because I can't prove it was his fault even though it still may be mine anyway.

I now have a 12 by 6 inch hole in the front of my car. The trailer hitch missed all internal running parts but broke the bumper support bar in half and rammed my hood latch within and inch of my radiaor. It aslo bent the radiator support which looked like a piece of the frame cuz I couldn't see where it connected to the real frame.

All in all I need a new hood, bumper support, entire bumper, washer fluid bottle, radiator support, and AC condesor ( not really sure what that is ). It will cost $3500 for them to get everything and put on except the hood. I'm buying a WS-6 ram air hood and kit to replace the old non WS-6 hood, so the total cost is around $4500. The main problem with this situation is I have no insurance other than the minimum liability, so I'm paying for all of this out of my pocket.

I haven't gotten pics yet but when I do I'll post them and then later show the after pics once it's fixed.

EDIT: Also I'm gunna finally get that scratch fixed too while I'm at it.

Ouch. Just a streak of bad luck thats all, once you catch the guys who did this to your car, It'll all turn around. :D

A paintball gun? Go get yourself a 1000fps pellet rifle. But make sure you hit them in the legs.

That would have been a perfect opportunity here in Illinois. We have a new law that you cannot have a trailer hitch that sticks out in your vehicle at all times. Only when you are actually towing.

the editor of a certain custom car magazine used to live down my road, so i found this out reading it in his lil editorial bit in the mag :p had a rough primerd chevy sled parked out front so no biggy bout paint, but one night some kid thought he'd walk over it :odd: he got earshot of a name in the pub and him and a few big mates went round to this kids house for a little "chat" needless to say he never did it again :p my car had a spiral of scratches on the roof since i bought it, thats bout it i think. a while ago some kids were putting bricks and rocks on peoples car down the road :odd: my neighbour used to get a lot of unwanted attention just for having an impreza :odd: that got written off eventually tho, some guy turned into him while he was overtaking him :odd:

Ok, so we have this old 84' Ford Laser Sport Gold something, its worth about $1000 cause its in a very good condition. Its not parked in our garage cause we have another better car in there; so instead its parked on the road. And its really usful; we carried about 1 bed, 1 fridge, a few t.v's, And my BMX every-day.

My dad woke up one morning and found that the drivers side key-hole has been tampered with; so from then on he opened the car up from the front passeneger side and always kept a steering lock on. So about a week later he thinks about fixing the lock on the car. But no, the next day some woman with a Volvo rams his car from behind and the WHOLE bumper got mashed. So after the insurance company fixed it, they didnt fix them strings which hold up the boot (its a hatchback). But he didnt care cause he got the lockes fixed. So maybe about a month later the SAME thing happened (the lock thing). But this time he never fixed it; so the same idiot who tried to break in couldnt . But instead he broke a side mirror.

A perfect example of people who are retards:crazy: And i hope you find out who keyed your car. A car might not be worth much to others, but its always got a senti-mental value to you.

And oh yeah, my neighbours car got stolen about 4 years ago, and i saw it parked on a side steet so i told my neighbour to go down a check it out, but too late. :nervous: but he did find it in the city somewhere.:)

EDIT: Our Laser is one of the most-likely cars to get stolen in Australia. Just read it in a RACV mag :dunce:

Our family car is a circa '95 model EL Falcon sedan. It's a rather nice car too. A while ago, we noticed that the drivers side lock had been tampered with. Luckily the idiot clown fool lowlife who tried to flog it was unable to, we would have been stuffed otherwise, due to poor income (stupid government idiots :grumpy: 👎 ).
I'm pretty sure it occurred in Ipswich, because our neighbourhood is rather good (not much of a neighbourhood, 3 spaced out blocks on the same side of the street).

Well I finnaly got some pics of it. I'm like 3 month slate but better late than never. It was windy and crap and it was my gf's camera since I don't have one so she wanted me to be in all the pics. So don't mind me I look like a retard but this is what the car looks like now.

It started as this

And thats the nose damage. Crappy pic from my cell phone but its all I got.

I have that chunk that got punched through hanging on my wall above my bed.
