ps2 scary: i hate it

i hate the screen that says: please insert a play station or playstation 2 format disc it freaks me out.

first the noise then the screen


here's everything that it affects me because of it:

i have to turn the T.V. off while booting a game to avoid it

it's put me off buying a new gt4 or borrowing my friends gt4

i've had two bad dreams about it so far [edit: make that three]


why is it even on there? to scare people?

Sounds like somebody is suffereing from disk read errors.
 
When I was 8 I used to be afraid of my Windows PC when it would BSOD or have to be run in safe mode. I run Mac now. :lol:
 
I thought I was the only one that is scared of the DRE screen, I still can't look at directly without closing my eyes. And yes, I'm dead serious about this statement. :scared:

I suppose, if it's dark, and you're already a little excited, that could be spooky. Only scary my ps2 does is start smelling like hot plastic and making creaky/clicky noises on occasion (the little system that moves the laser probably needs cleaning/greasing)
 
You know what scared me many years ago? If the PS2 freezes during a game while a loud sound is happening, it would repeat itself over and over and over really quickly. I sure as hell has nightmares about that for quite some time. :lol:
