First go:

7'47.490/Spoon Civic Type-R '00/HondaRacer/2.651 PWR/309BHP

(I don't know what PWR & HP could mean, aren't they the same? I assumed you wanted Power and Weight, so that's what you got.)

More to come. :) I love challenges like this.

Actually, that's for Power to weight ratio.
In the garage you can find that stat and gt mode happens to be the only mode it is used (arc ignores pwr since both power and weight are already listed).

If you get the chance go ahead and edit the pwr in (I may just calculate it on my own but I'm not in the mood at the moment). :indiff:

Glad to see you're contributing though. 👍

About HP and where to get it from... I'm thinking whatever the standard is (I guess the garage figure when you are looking at the car rotating).

OH! Haha, sorry about that. I'll put it in right away. 💡

On a side note, HP figures vary slightly in different places, so I'll assume you want the one from the garage menu, which is 309. The detailed spec sheet that you see when you're selling the car gives me 305...

I look forward to seeing what you can do with the Suzuki.
Also, I've added HondaRacer's time to the board.
Finally, I'm debating a rule and before the competition gets going too far...

Do you all think GT Auto Wings should be allowed?
I'm feeling like "No" is the right answer to that but I would like input from you all.

Btw, right now I'm looking to complete laps in a 450hp Supra and a 480hp DB9. :mischievous:

Well some cars do need them, and some cars don't. But to make it even
because some cars can't have a wing put on them I say leave them off.

The right answer is yes, for two reasons.

1. The original rules said nothing about their use.

2. I had one on the Civic that I used. :sly:

I thought that might have been the case and decided to bring it up as I did rather than outright change the rules around.
Instead of second guessing myself, I'm leaving it open. Polyphony got to make the decisions about leaving wings off of some cars and now we are going to exploit their mistake. :P It's a shame, the Mine's should be able to rule the 600hp area but thanks to zero downforce... :indiff:
All the same, I will run some of those cars any way. 👍

So yeah, wings are in.

Too bad I can't add a wing on the Ruf 3400S I'm usin right now. Brb with a time

*EDIT*
7'16.331 / RUF 3400s '00 / alrivers / 2.24hp/kg / 493HP

:) Just clocked a 7'43.888

For easy copy/pasting: 7'43.888 Spoon Civic Type-R '00 HondaRacer 2.651PWR 309HP

Please edit this time into your original post! I think you missed it!

sounds interesting..... i'm in......

about the power figures, wouldn't it be better to get them from the garage where all the cars are listed, as not all cars have their power stated in the menu where the car is rotating.....? also that's where we're getting the power/weight ratio from isn't it?

Thread updated with Dave's time.
Also, I thought I would let you all in on my plans.

Right now there is a thread in the gt4 forum called something like "which is faster, the supra or the skyline?"

My plan is to use this spot race as a base of operations. 👍
I'm going to be using both cars with all possible mods but at different times I will use the stage 1,2, 4, and 5 turbos (for the stage 5s I'm going to use "original" suspensions as to get a tuner theme going).

At any rate, I hope to have two times in by the end of the day today so keep an eye out and get any lap times in before then (if possible) that way you can get the update when I come back. 👍

Until then,
-Kent

Sweet, ill have a go at this later on in a few hours:tup:

Dont know what car to use...

EDIT:
7'59.938

Nissan 350Z GT4 edition 300hp, 1286kg

I will try to get a time with the Suzuki GSX-R/4 tomorrow, I have a time right
now but I know I can go about7.5sec faster. Right now I have a time under 7min's.

Edit:
Ok here is my time from my Suzuki.

6:49:784/Suzuki GSX-R/4 '01/AngelCreator/2.118PWR/272HP

I thought their would be more people here, I guess they are all at Flat-out's time trial.

7'02.304 Supra RZ '97
7'02.497 Skyline GT-R '99

When I come back to update the board I will provide the specs and official setup for these laps. Neither are very good but I plan to refine the lines over time. Maybe this will give someone a place to start, maybe I'll have to work on the Suzuki or something similar. :D

till next time,

Sorry to double post but it's been a week and I've made some updates/ changes (nothing big).

After spending some time with Tsukuba and Flat-Out's race, I've been influenced to refine submissions. PWR is not required in submissions anymore. HP is enough by itself since we all know the cars. However, I'm keeping HP in there because the field is so open that many of us may want to run various hp levels in the same car. 👍

Also, I've updated the board to reflect all times posted except my own (the supra/ skyline without specs).

Finally, I just want to mention that I'm going to be running Tsukuba and the Ring with the same cars... At Tsukuba I just finished running some fun Evo8 MR laps, guess what's next for the Ring. :mischievous:

Hope to get back with a time later today. Till then,
-

Nice pics Kent.. But why are you allowing any type of tuning? Shouldn't we run with street cars the way they come?

Just clicked the link in your sig Kent after doing a 16'34 in a 2CV for the other (stock) Nurb thread.

I'll see what I can come up with in a Skyline/Supra. I'm fairly sure I won't be challenging your times Kent but I'll give it a shot anyway. :D

Darren.

This sounds challenging, yet, extremely exciting.

I'll run 3 LMP-killers and see what I can come up with.

I've ran a few laps but the best I can seem to get are as follows:

  • 6'47.719 w/ 99' Nissan Skyline GTR - Fully modified
  • 6'53.472 w/ WRX STi Spec-C - Fully modified
I'll try and achieve a pre 6'45.000 with the GTR and below 6'50.000 with the WRX soon. 👍

Just thought I'd better check that the Caterham is allowed?

Spent a little while messing around with it last night, no decent clean laps yet but I'm hoping to get a sub 7'30.

The only thing is I couldn't get a comfortable set-up on race suspension. The thing is so light (-350Kg's) it bounces around everywhere and don't even think about riding the rumble strips. :nervous:

Switched back to stock suspension and cut over twenty seconds off my best dirty lap. :D

I'm also making the transition from auto to manual gears at the moment so that may be slowing me down a bit too. :dopey:

Darren.

I've improved my previous lap with the WRX STi Spec-C and my new time is 6'54.788.

I'll post a pic of it as soon as my digital camera is recharged.
But beating my GTR time is proving difficult, as the wheels suffer to the immense power of the machine.

Hazaa! I have the perfect car. Unfortunately today I'm trying to do a few other things on top of GT4 (Having a life outside GT4 seems to get in the way a lot. I'm sure y'all can agree with that.) Keep these challenges going Kent!

I got a 7:03 in a corvette ZR-1 with wings & 440 hp.Full weight reduction. Totally modded except for full power upgrade.

Great contest , I love the Ring. Have a Z06 that will do around 6:30 , but have to check to see what tires i had on it. If they werent Sports Soft, I'll have another go at it. But 6:30 should be right. WIll get back to you guys.

Ok I tried my Suzuki again today and here is the time I got:mischievous:.

6:43:449/Suzuki GSX-R/4 '01/AngelCreator/2.118PWR/271HP

Sorry about the horsepower, it was 271HP not 272HP.
