RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (just under 1h each round) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

God what a bloody idiot I am!

Got so caught up in the discussions in the other thread, that I forgot to submit my quali time till 2 mins to go.:ouch:
Then it took nearly twenty mins for me to get the flaming maxdrive software to load.:ouch: :banghead: :irked: :banghead: :irked: :banghead: :banghead:
Sent my time to Eats, but it was late, way late, like 20 mins late!

Ah well! 10 seconds added to last place is still last place init?:indiff:

And I am pretty sure I'll be in last place, as my quali time was a 1'23.3xx!
God the power restrictor and +7% weight are really hurting.

On the brightside tho, getting 10 laps out of medium fronts so far, lack of speed = lack of wear!:)

Neil

I may have a chance of not coming in last this week....thanks Neil...what a great friend to do that for me.

I am determined to get a reasonable result this race, despite the penalty.

I have done a 2 stopper, and a 3 stopper already tonite!

15-16 laps on RH/RM's
10-11 laps on RM/RS's

Getting quite close to the race fastest lap time on RM/RS's, we'll see how the 4 stopper works out tommorrow...
See if I can work RS/RS into the rotation and get a good fastest lap into the race.

I seem to be getting the hang of the track now, after 120-odd laps. Mind you this is the first time I have done the pit-stop thing @ Laguna in GT4. The first time I tried it, I expected the game to take over before the really tight entrance to the pit-lane proper(as in GT3), plowed straight into the wall, and got a drive through instead of a pit!:ouch:

@ Eats!
Mate, did you actually try this race for laps v time? Or did ya just guestimate it?

Seems to be a lap too long to me!:D

Neil

is it just me or this race is a little longer than usual???

Not at all, why do you ask?:lol:

What I DID notice was that the AI are REALLY clumsy, especially on old tires. I had to take evasive action a few times to keep from spearing them and taking me out! Haven't seen this sort of mayhem since Midfield...

Here's a pic:

Also, watching the replays, I realized how far the PD team went to render the track faithfully! They put in the little blue Porta-Pottys that line the track... Too funny. I must've used at least half of 'em at some point in time...

Still working on the damn race though. Turn 5 is a high risk/low reward corner that's addictive to try to push! Gotta learn to give a little to stay out of the gritty-kitty -> tires -> PENALTY!!!

Grr...

Not just you Francisco!

I think it's one lap too long, as neither I or Drew can get much below 1:01'

hmmm. intimidation ahm? you say 54 and then i can go crazy. we know its a bit longer, ipm glad neil also confirms that. just look at last season´s times. the AI made me restart a lot. its amazing how bad it is. if you try to overtake them in the outside, it looks like they have a 20,000 pound heavy car that will push you to the grass. unbeliaveble. they have no sense of what´s going on the track.

did my race with 4 and with 6 pits. 2 seconds apart. duh!, after all its almost the same result. i´m also yet to nail a race, so don´t get down on yourself. i´m still looking for an extra 10-15 seconds before i submit. saturday will be the next and last attempt.

Did a few attempt's and screwed it up at the end of the race, uhh !!! Got one banker so far. Very tough to stay out the kitty litter for 41 laps. No problems with the AI on softer tires, though.

....still working on a better time.

Literally right-in-the-middle of my 4 stopper attempt now!
Taking a break for a Turkey/Mayo/Dijon mustard sandwhich on Hovis Granery bread (freshly baked this afternoon I might add), accompanied by a double JD & diet cola!

Sub 30 mins @21 laps & 2nd pitstop!

Neil

Well..... I've had to make a very tough choice :(

I had planned to travel and see a friend of mine that I haven't seen in about 5 or 7 years.... but now I've got to put that money into a new wheel to finish this season... sigh

Between this and series and the DTM run at Hong Kong, I can't get the shift right to make the races happen. I've found out how to "fix" the paddles, but I've also discovered that a roommate has somehow "lost" one of the springs to the gas pedal :(

So in the morning, off to Best Buy and lay out another chunk of cash that I can't really afford at this point, as my partner in DTM deserves my best crack at it, and I've got this last race to post here.

Sooner or later the rub has gotta swintg the other direction, neh ?

Turkey/Mayo on bread.....and a "DIET" coke :dunce:
doesn't make a difference if you have a regular coke, lol

anyways, almost eat my controller !
was on my 4 stopper today and got into trafic at the end. Rearended the damn FTO and got a penalty on lap "39" :banghead:

J.R. mate!

IMPORTANT!

There is only ONE spring on the gas peddle!

Two on the brake, but only one on the gas!

You may not need to buy a new wheel!!!!!!

Also, re-ran the race twice tonite and am a quick as I'm gonna get.

So submitting to Eats in the morning!

Neil

well, done, just waiting for results now. i think i had a very good race overall, don´t know how others with a lighter car will perform... i know me and shig put a lot of effort on this one, and i really hope i picked the right tire strategy in this critical round, lots of testing before i decide which one to use...

see you guys at the results 👍

Well, it's just past 11:00 PM and I've just finished my final race. Dropped a pretty good amount of time from my previous best, but I'm afraid that I may be a couple seconds short... Just a gut feeling...

Francisco, it's been a great competition. Despite the distractions and detractions, it's been a blast. Win or not, I'm glad I stuck through to the end if nothing else than to make you have to work for the championship (and I thank you for doing the same for me). Wouldn't have meant as much to either of us I feel if the other had dropped weeks back.

For sure I spent a LOT of time in qual and testing for tire stints, speed and pitstop strategy, and practice. Tried a last minute different strategy tonight, but it didn't pan out.

Don't think I have it in me to run again tonight, and really I think I could only eke out another 5 seconds or so if I put together another clean race. If I place behind fasj by 4.9 seconds, so be it.

Bring on the results!

Don't be late eats!!

-SHig

Time submitted:(

Not happy with it at all, but it's the best I could do with the penalties I got!

Yes I agree it has been one hell of a season! Well done to all who stuck it out to the end!👍 👍

Here's to a good season 3!

Neil

OMG!!! 8 seconds...

i´m glad i decided to go with 4 pits... i would have being burned with 6 pits... at least 10 seconds slower. i did the best i could, 7 races. after all the time of my last 3 would have been OK, but still... i knew i had to push to absolutely the max in order to get the win... in a little hurry right now, more detailed post tomorrow, thanks everybody for the series, congrats to all who made it to the last round. its been lots of fun racing with you guys:tup:

Congrats Francisco on a well deserved come-from-behind win for the season! Ain't NO WAY I would have been able to drop into the mid 55'40's. Made it in only 5 stops (all RS, 6/7/7/7/7/7) and I was banking on that making up for your wear, but I guess you're the man with the skillz!

Don't know what the result would've been stock to stock but it was a fun ride.

-SHig

EDIT: I was at 56'06 until last night and THOUGHT/HOPED that my improvement would get ya. 4 stops? RM/RM/RM/RM/RS? Bravo!

EDIT 2: Sure wish that my teammate would've showed up. With M3T flaking we just might've had a snowball's chance...

ARGH!

2nd in the driver's championship to 5th in one race/quali!:ouch:

Well done all!

Shows just how close it was at the end, don't it?

Almost as bad as what happened in the British Superbike championship earlier today!
Leader (G Lavilla)gets 2 DNF's (1 for falling of, second for tech problem), 2nd guy (R.Kyonara) wins first race by default, gets a 26 point lead (double points cos of a missed round earlier in the season), and then the guy who was only 8 points behind (Leon Haslem) wins second race whilst Kyo finishes 2nd (with two other Honda racers behind him, under orders not to pass him from Honda, protecting his back!)

Neil

are you kidding me ? !!!!
I missed the deadline ? While I was trying to get a DTM race in ?

sorry everyone :(

J.R.

 Congrats to the Champions 👍
and a big thank you to those that have stuck this series out for the season.

can't believe I missed the deadline :(
LOL

J.R.

Francisco,

So 5 wins to my 2 and ONLY 2 points between us in the end? I guess there is something to be said for consistency! You're definitely the better/more committed driver to not only win those 5 races but also overcome the penalties to do so.

If only I had better qualifying results mid season (when more people raced) it may have been a different story!

Ifs and buts...

Glad we're done so winter testing can start. I could use the break!
