What is this little bugger?

What is this and what kind of damage am I looking at?



It always starts at the top of my desktop so I can barely drag it down, then I can Alt+F4 it. It's not listed as an open window, so I can't maximize it or anything. All I can do is move it around and Alt+F4 it.

Whatever it is, it can't be good.
 
When you run the task manager, go to processes, and see what disappears when you close it.

And I would run spybot search and destroy on your machine, along typical virus scan and such when you have crop popping up you don't ask for.
 
It's a window at the minimum possible size. Use Alt-Space, S to get Size control, then use the right and down cursor keys to open it up. Alternatively, you could Alt-space, X to maximize it.

Most Windows status messages or questions for the user will not show on the taskbar as an open application.
