Okay, nominations were a little thin for this group, as I would have expected them to be larger given the slant in Europe towards the wagon. Anyway, it is the list complied by the users, and thus I cannot complain too much.

Buick Estate
Buick Roadmaster
Chevrolet Nomad
Dodge Magnum
Ford Country Squire
Nissan Stagea
Subaru Impreza (inc WRX)
Subaru Legacy 2.5GT
Volkswagen Passat W8 4MOTION
Volvo 240
Volvo 850 TR

Please remember to a) post a picture (you don't have to if it has already been done) and b) explain your reasoning behind the choice. It makes things easier for others, and as proven by the previous thread, can become a good debate.

---

Once again, my vote goes for a Vee-Dub. IMO, the Passat W8 in any variation was easily the best Volkswagen of the past decade, and that does say a lot. The combination of good performance, stealthy looks, and a cult-following make it a winner in my book, and that is only the sedan. As a wagon, it further increases the stealthy looks while also increasing the cargo space, and not much driveability was sacrificed for the extra room. I would have preferred a sedan with the 6-speed manual in most cases, but even with the 5-speed Triptronic, the car still has plenty of gusto to keep me happy.

So, in summation, I once again vote for the Passat (go figure?)

The budget kind of limited the choices. There was no room for the high end Audis, BMW and Mercs. Let alone the shooting Brakes.

However, I don't think the restrictions are a problem, there is still a healthy collection.

I'll admit I'm pretty ignorant on the Stagea, but what is it besides a Skyline with a larger boot?

Skyline 4door + extended roof line and larger trunk space = Stagea. Not much more than that. So, it has plenty of potential in the track department, given the RB-series engine's history. ;)

Even though I nominated the WRX, I haven't voted yet. I'm not quite convinced by it, or the Stagea and I'd never vote for the Passat :p

I need convincing people!

I voted for the Subaru Legacy 2.5GT. The reason people buy wagons is to have lots of well-appointed space without spending mots of money on a crappy SUV that won't fit in the garage anyway. The Subaru WRX is just too small. Sure, it's more sporty than its bigger, much nicer brother, but its pretty small and minimally luxurious.

So while both Scoobies have the same AWD benefit, the Legacy just has more point and has more wagon than its annoying little brother.

Well, the only thing better than the Passat in this case Exige is the Magnum, IMO. Although here in America it is well-known as a car with some serious potential (particularly with the 345 BHP HEMI V8), they generally don't look particularly fast in some cases. A good thing? Yes, certainly. I love the look of the car, the "pillbox" view from the inside is awesome. Hauling and carrying capacity is pretty strong, even with the 3.5L V6 (whatever you do, avoid the 2.7L), but as with any of the LX Platform cars (Magnum, Charger, 300C), you are going to want the HEMI option-box checked.

...And for "just" $38,000:

Yeah, the Magnum SRT-8. Just barely out of price competition, it is probably one of the greatest American sleepers since the old Vista Cruiser 455s and Monaco 440s. Thing is, the SRT-8 can hang with its cousin the E55 Wagon pretty easily, mind you for $40K less. A great car, but too bad it is out of price range here...

I voted for the 240, because it is the car most people think of (through blatant use in Hollywood and by Volvo themselves) when they think "wagon," and for good reason.

I would of voted for the Stagea but the US doesn't get them so I've never been able to drive it which in-turn makes me not vote for it.

Nissan Stagea got my vote.

The Stagea you posted is not RB powered anymore, but I assume this poll is for all Stagea's?
