RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (between 40-45 mins) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

AIR RESTRICTOR

The winning driver will have a -1% hp air restrictor penalty in place for the next round. This penalty will be in effect for the next 3 races and then dropped after that determined period of time. Exp : A driver winning R3 will get -1% hp for rounds 4-5-6 and on R7 he'll see his power come back to normal. A driver winning again in that 3 races penalty period will gain another -1% hp but the 3 races period won't be resetted like in the past to 3. The longest a penalty (-1%) will hit will be 3 races.

I'll give this a shot now, will be back with some times in an hour or so.

Edit: Ended up racing it twice, with a different tire strategy on each run. First run was a 1 stopper on RH's and the second run was a 2 stopper on RM's. The 2 pit strategy on RM's was much quicker for me, about 20 seconds overall faster than my first run. There is one more tire/pit set-up I want to test, but if that doesn't seem work I will most likely stick to the 2 pits on RM's set-up.

Fast laps weren't very impressive because I was driving conservatively to save my tires, so I won't bother posting them up.

CONCUR!👍

It's awfully tempting to try to make this race into a one-stopper. But the harder compound tires just don't offer enough grip to make the effort worth while. You'd think that the hard tires and the intermediates would be somewhat close--that once they get up to temperature, you'd get a little more grip out of them--but it just ain't the case. For all the performance the harder compund tires don't provide, they might as well stay cold.

But this is one of my favorite races to run. I'm looking forward to getting this baby going!

Enough talk! Good luck to all my brother Z drivers, let's take it to Toyota!

Thundercat

After 3 seasons of JGTC I think I found only one race where RH's were an advantage. I've all but abandoned the idea of running RH's.

Watch closely for the hp & weight values, using the wrong ones will get you an automatic DQ for the session.

Ohhh! That's a threat! :sly:

6th in qualifying, with -1% power,without +5% weight

Last, with -1 power & +5% weight in the race!

I'm scared..............:scared:
no!.........
really,
I am..............!

Honestly! Guys! Speaking from the heart here!

Anyone I am faster than, this week......................?

Is a pathetic, paltry, useless, waste of oxygen!
And deserves to be slowly disolved, mm by mm, in a 50 gallon drum of suphuric acid over the period of 24hrs, whilst being fed the strongest stimulents known to mankind.

Neil:trouble:

You know

I've come to love that mans' humor

claiming such things

then goes out and proceeds to kick my fuzzy butt :grumpy:

and he wonders why we look upon him with sceptisim ?

LOL

Uhm, that may be pushing it a bit Neil. For more than one reason. One being that not everyone can put as much time into it as others, and another being that not everyone is of the same skill level. :p

I'm in deep trouble, my DFP broke, trying to get a new one tomorrow...aaarrrrgggg! I have 3 races due this week...I may be SOL!!!!

I am in trouble too...I haven't got a DFP at all.:dopey:
Hey Andy, would you be so kind and buy for me another one?:)
I've found a brand new DF Pro in a shop,it costs 32.300 HUF,it is about 160 bucks.
How much does it cost in your country?I think it's a little bit expensive...

So is anyone going to bring enough to take down GTXDriver this week? I finally hit a couple 1'19's but I'm still suffering with some horrible inconsistency. Hows everyone else doing?

Brian

We'll see!! Like you I'm suffering from inconsistency, especailly during the apex of turn 3! Sometimes the diffirence can vary between 5-12 mph! Everywhere else on the circuit, I'm golden . . .

1'19's you say? My best so far is in the 1'23 range...:O At least I have a few more days for this race to work on getting faster lap time and make the effort to be more consistent.;)

This whole course is about exit speed. If you can get good momentum coming out of the corners, you're GOLDEN. The Chicane coming out of 300R and the Hairpins are the keys to this track. I tend to consider the hard left (turn 3?) before the carosel and the entry corner to the 300R chicane as throw-away corners, used to set up the best exits to the following corners.

Right now I'm pretty consistent for all laps, within like .75 seconds of each other, even the off-laps, so I'm pretty confident in my time, but we'll see. This is my first venture into Rotary Racing, but so far i'm pretty happy with the RX7. Now i just have to get on Andy and Neil's tailpipes and see how they're doing it.

Well, I spent about an hour and a half on it tonight... Some time doing hotlaps trying to get some idea of the track, and then a bit of time figuring out how I'm going to do the race. Then I tried to get a banker in... Then I gave up.

Lol, I suck at this track, I don't have any experience on it really. And I'm really tired. So nothing from me yet, but I hope to have at least a somewhat decent banker lap to submit by the time it's required. 👍

:( No DFP for me this round :(

I'll have to try and wring the most out of my DS2 this weekend just to keep up the points race. DFP arriving next week sometime.

And yes, I know all you DS2 users are wondering what the big deal is, but once you've played with the DFP for a couple of years, going back almost impossible. It's a totally different approach to driving...

Absolutely and totally agree with you there buddy!

Once you have experienced the bliss that is using a DFP.
Got used to the flexability, the feel, the precise control and the amount of 'feedback' you get, over a year or so of racing.

There is no way to go back to the DS2!

It's like starting out drinking cheap red wine when you are younger, and then getting adventurous and buying the odd bottle of more expensive wine. Once you get used to the more complex flavours and the fact you get less of a headache, you never want to go back to the cheap stuff again.

And hang the expense!;)

Neil

Well said, Neil 👍

Fortunately it's this week that I'm without my wheel, as I'm not terribly fond of the 90's configuration at Fuji. I find it a little simplistic. On the flip side, Fuji 2005 GT has been one of my strongest tracks, so it's unfortunate I won't get the chance to see if I can do it here.

Oh well *sigh* ;)

Just completed a full race, with no errors what-so-ever, no spins, no penalties, very minor contact in the first corner on the first lap, no contact for the rest of the race.
Finished one lap up on the rest of the field.
Very consistant throughout the whole race, obviously getting quicker as the fuel burned off. Started off with low 1'23's ending up with mid-ish 1'22's.

One stop race, on RH/RM's!:D

Beat that if you can!:sly:

The king.

Tried your strategy Neil, and it worked ... sort of. Could only get 13 laps out of the rears before i switched, so i put RH/RH on instead. Best lap was a GOOD one with judicious use of drafting (thank you lap traffic), but going 17 laps on the front cost me roughly 20 seconds overall...might have to give this one a try again before deadline...

Well, I've got a 2 stopper on RM's in the bank. Ran about what I figured considering everything from the qual run. Fast lap so far is in the low 1:21's, and am pretty consistant. I think there is a little more left to get in the two stopper.

I am interested to see what running the one stopper does though, may run that later today. In either case, I don't expect to be close to my partner :scared: ... the man is just bloody quick !

I'm with you JR, I have a 2 stopper that I'm fairly pleased with, running in the 1'22's give or take , mostly give a second, have a 1'20.9xx. May have another go at it tonight before I pass out!!!

Time Submitted.

Ran another race, a 1 stopper, and there is NO WAY i'm going to beat it. Didn't quite reach my threshold, but i don't think I can do it. I'm very happy with it, my lap times roughly w/in 1 second of each other, so very consistent.

Overall, the first stint with the RX7 makes me very happy. Good luck everyone

:grumpy:

I don't know if I'll have anything to submit.

I completely suck at this right now. Possibly due to lack of heart in it, but I at least have some sleep and am making an effort.

I can't get around the AI without having at least some contact, and I don't really like that... But I'll go with it anyway as I have no choice.

But then, I can't stay on the track completely for crap. At least not for more than two/three laps. Maybe a couple wheels off here causing me to go all the way off, or start sliding, or blah blah. Or that part right before what I think is T3, I'll get a little funky coming around the right that's before the sharp slow left hairpin thingy, and get SCREWED for the hairpin part. And blah blah.

Then I'd do something else where it's completely stupid for me to waste any more time on the race. Maybe I'll get something completed tomorrow that I can submit, but as of now, I have jack and don't have any more time tonight. Tomorrow's a full day too, but I may just have to be late for some other stuff so I can submit a damn time. I don't like this not submitting thing! :ouch: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :yuck:

Hey KLR,don't give up.
To be honest to you,I ran a few laps with your car...and I can't do the same what I did in my Supra.
The good news are that your car is very powerfull :scared: and fast  and looks like a predator  with this painting scheme.
But there are some bad facts about it...It is very heavy :guilty: and mainly (this is the most strange to me from an MR-car) it does not eat the tyres very balanced :grumpy: .I ran out to the track in race conditions,I ate the field in two corners,in the top of the next hairpin I hit a crazy speed of 220 km/h...I was on the edge and fought very hard...and the lap times wasn't that strong, the best lap on RM's was 1'20.9xx. When I hit the brakes the car lost its speed very much.
The only way to make this car competitive is losing some weight from it as I see,but this is only an idea...the boss makes the decision. 👍

The other thing is about me...time sent to eats.I am very happy with it.No contact,no fails,no penalties, looks good, hotlap is in the 1'18.6's  (on RS's).
But we will see.The race is not over yet.
Good luck everyone!

Managed to do a two stopper that beat my one stopper by 6 seconds, so I'm gonna call it a day on this race, and submit my times to Eats.

I have to say that the 2 stopper, while slightly faster, was definately a less comfortable race.
During the one stopper I could settle down, relax and find that all important rhythm so nescessary for a good race. In the 2 stopper, having to drive that much faster to compensate for the extra stop, while still looking after the tyres, right on the edge of grip performance, made it a much more intense and somehow slightly less gratifying.

Even though I beat the previous time, I didn't enjoy the race as much.
Strange!

Ah well, off to Trial mountain for some LM action, while we wait for the results.

Neil

Couldn't find the time to get an extra session in, will send in my shotty banker run though...even though i'm not happy with it.

Edit: Sent in my results, not at the last minute this week

Thanks for the words of encouragement GTX!

But, it sucked. Hardcore. I'm extremely dissappointed. I absolutely despise this track. We have nothing in common. :p There's just nothing about it that I enjoy. It pains me to race around it, and it shows. I can't keep even an ounce of concentration. I had a 2-5 seconds loss of time every 3-4 laps from offs. I never had any big contacts or penalties, UNTIL I came into the damn pits. Well, I guess I shouldn't have let off the brakes for that millesecond, because I HIT the damn corner of the pit entrance, and went through as a PENALTY!

You know something's wrong if you go BACKWARDS up the track so you can get into the pits.

That race sucked. Fuji and I don't get along.

That was nothing like a consistent JGTC race. Maybe the car has some to do with it, but I'll blame it on the track and I not getting along. BLAH! Submitted.

And now I'm an hour late for my previous engagement with my Volvo club today. :grumpy:
