Discussion about FASTEST LAPS are tolerated, but that's the only value allowed to be discussed.

Did the qualifying a few times,I have some flawless run in my baggage, fastest lap is 1'42.5xx in my overall best, but I saw a 1'42.3xx in one of my previous race.I rest a few hours and will try again.
That is not possible that the A.I. cars are so goddamn freaks...plus I am not at the pace I want.

Man, now BOTH of DrewpyBalls has an HP penalty. I better be fast this round, we were just here in LMS a couple weeks back. Oh wait, wasn't very good here either!

Welcome CRXNut! another fellow RX7 Driver ready to topple the Toyota and Nissans of the world...bwaaahahahahaaa.

ahem...sorry. Time to get some qualifying in.

Edit:
Well, after 3 times through the race, I think I've pretty much gotten what I can. I know, defeatist, but every since the GT3 changes to the track, I've been at odds w/ Grand Valley. I did hit 1:43.2xx, but how you got 1:42.xxx GTXDriver, I'll never know...my hat's off to you. to borrow a line from J.R., it looks like another mid-pack performance this week. :)

GT3 changes? I don't recall much difference between GT2 and GT3...are you referring to the changes made in GT4? Personally I love the new 2nd sector, very technical, the old one was a bit irritating and gave the track too many sustained corners IMO.

Had a run at this last night (gonna have to submit qualy with the DS2, should be the last time *cross fingers* ). I managed an average performance with a mid-1'42 fast lap.

der, you're right.

This iteration of the track doesn't have the same flow that the other one had. Coming out of the tight hairpin, you had a couple nice lefts and a couple nice rights...a place where you could either gain or lose seconds. But this time it's a tricky left followed by a brutal left toward the reservoir, with 2 rights that don't mesh well anymore. It is a lot more technical, but it's like re-makes of Elvis...It might be as good, but why try to improve on greatness?

Just my opinion.

Hi, thanks for letting me join mid season.
I'm not sure how much help I'm gonna be for the Mazda team - I'm not very fast and don't have much experience driving in arcade mode.
My fastest is mid 1'43 in free run without AI.

Hmm. I wonder what I'm like with tire wear.

This is yet another strong track of mine, and I SHOULD have some time to race next week, so, the results will be one of the strongest for a Honda yet.

Welcome CRXnut! w00!

Are paved (concrete) areas behind the rumble strips part of the track ?

I really suck under pressure in traffic. Had a clean run with no penalties but my fastest lap was 1'44 :-(

Just so you know, times that you get in free run aren't going to be comparable to times you get in the races... The car's different. I think it has something to do with the gas or something, dunno for sure.

Time submitted. I think I managed a fairly solid run, hopefully my last submission with the DS2. Managed a low 1'42 fast lap.

Good luck all 👍

So, is there a clarification on what's considered legal as far as the corners where there's concrete outside of the rumble strips?

And jeez, this understeer is not fun...

It's a short race not a single lapper qualification run, so you basically just "race". Nothing illegal aside from the typical "I go on purpose out of bound" to pass the AI.

very slow time submitted :(
Not a chance in hell of getting any points this round, either in the qual or the race.

Sorry all, esp Drew!

No time from me, not well, not happy about it- but there it is!

Sounds good, thanks.

For what it's worth, I vote back to hotlap next season, and DEFINITELY include the penalties during qual. It's pointless to leave it out, just keeps slow drivers/cars slow and fast fast.

And this car... It's overweight and overpoweredness is FRUSTRATING!!!

Fastest lap so far is 1'43.678, and that's after doing probably 30 laps or maybe more. I don't see that number getting much lower... And this is one of my stronger tracks. This car though, has to slow down where a JGTC car should NOT. Blah.

I shall continue on, I'll have something without any penalties and some decent times in to submit this time. Maybe I'll grab a point or two if I'm lucky.

Well, with experience comes speed... Seen down to a 1'43.0xx for fastest lap now... Just knocked almost six seconds off of what I thought was pretty decent before, AND that's with a 3.5 second off pace lap because I went a little wide over the high speed uphill chicane thingy before T1 and that put me into a bit of sliding and a quickie through some sand...

Will have one more go and submit. My fingers are crossed! :)

Oh yeah, I accidentally backed out while I was racing and found some other AI that allow me to go about a second faster on the first lap... How nice! 👍

Edit: Nope, that'll be it. About 4 seconds left in it if I could concentrate that hard for that long, but alas... Submitting now!

Good luck!

Ok, thanks for clearing up the rules. That means I could have been more aggressive but I already submitted my time and replay.

Time sent in...(might have been slightly late)

Could only find the time to run this round today, but too many late nights caused me to sleep in. Woke up 1 hour before the dead-line and quickly gave it a few runs, I only ended up getting 2 complete runs in before I had to submit. But I'm not concerned, because I only have myself to blame.

Fast lap was a 1'44.656 (not very familiar with this track). Not very consistent also...

Thank you eats for the results!
Never thought that I'll be second in qualifying but I am very happy with the second place!
Congratulations to Zeratul to the first place!
I have the "black horse" who will win the next round...

Cool. Bumped up two spots from my previous best, could've managed maybe 3rd place this week if I could've put it all together.

Well, we'll see what the actual race has in store for me... :nervous:

Pole? Wow, I hope I haven't been without my wheel so long that my skills are shifting back to the DS2...may end up posting some terrible times once I get my DFP again

Ok, thanks for clearing up the rules. That means I could have been more aggressive but I already submitted my time and replay.
Careful though, the intention of Eats' comment I believe is that you should still drive the TRACK and not what the game allows you to. So no excessive use of run-offs unless you would consider it legal or "correct" in RL racing (or you made a mistake, etc.).

Just my 2 cents :)

Nice times from everyone, I pretty much finished up about where I thought I should have been. Will make sure I get more runs in for the race this round.

I need to see a replay of a 1'42.1xx lap. Is there some Whipout-style accelerator pad I have to drive over before the long straight?

I would not mind seeing that replay too.
I'm surprised that I finished just one spot out of points. Expected to be dead last.

For one thing, some cars are a bit advantaged when compared with others in qualification rounds. For another, there is a great range of driver's competing in this series, some who could be placed in D3 of the WRS, while others are(or could be) placed in D1. 👍 Some are good at hotlaps, other's are good at tire conservation, others are good at everything. I fall into the hotlapper. Definitely. :)

Good on everyone for competing! :)

If I had a working replay device I would happily post it. If it's any consolation it was a rare lap, my average was in the mid to high 1'42s. If I get the time tonight, I'll review the replay and try to figure out where I made the time and post it here, just for interest's sake.

What I can tell you is that I didn't let off or brake before turn 17 (the final turn before the main straight). I imagine some cars can do this easily, but with the Pitworks Z you have to time the turn-in just right or you end up on the grass at the exit.

@Eats: are we allowed to post sector times here once qualy is over?

That's a good idea.If we know the T-times we can compare the laps and then we will know were we left the time in.But only when the qualy is over,as Zeratul said. The Simpsons need those points.:sly:
I know exactly that in the slippery chicane (just after the tunnel) I always lost some time.
I think there is only one car which has problems to get the low 1'42's and this is the Takata. It is too heavy in the qualifying run but still able to get mid 1'42's.👍
Anyway,Zeratul's lap time is blistering fast.

Agreed. 👍 I don't know about the other cars, but I do agree that in the right hands a mid 1'42 would be possible in the Takata. I never managed to dip down into the 1'42s during qualifying, but I know it's possible. I was going to try and do a few laps in the Pitwork Z last night, but I don't own the car!? :)
