RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (between 40-45 mins) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

AIR RESTRICTOR

The winning driver will have a -1% hp air restrictor penalty in place for the next round. This penalty will be in effect for the next 3 races and then dropped after that determined period of time. Exp : A driver winning R3 will get -1% hp for rounds 4-5-6 and on R7 he'll see his power come back to normal. A driver winning again in that 3 races penalty period will gain another -1% hp but the 3 races period won't be resetted like in the past to 3. The longest a penalty (-1%) will hit will be 3 races.

Seeing that this was posted today, I'll guess the deadline is next week, rather than yesterday...

Lol. Try harder! Use less braking, or just go even faster and then go one stint with harder tires... Or mix and match tires if the fronts wear out first, if you aren't already. And blah blah.

I'mma get to work right now for once, instead of leaving it for the last minute like I have been since this season started, basically. 👍

Oh god. I just had such a good, clean run... Managed to find a good, AI-free line through the first corners, by the second hairpin they're gone. So far, 1'47.7 on blueish-green Mediums, with stock everything - so it's not eligible anyways, I'll have to adjust the car once I get my figures. RMs last 5 laps, RHs last 7-8, so I did one stint (starting one) on RMs, then RHs, and, while planning to do another switch to RMs, I lost my nerve and jumped into the wall of the pits 👎:grumpy:

Ok, I was allllllll kinds of confused when I saw you posting in this thread... But, I guess you're joining up, eh?! SWEET! What car are you driving?

The stats that you'll be using for it will be the same ones that are used in qualifying each round. Except for power decreases for the people who've won races, of course. 👍

Yes, I PM'ed Eats with the car and number after the discussion we had, but I'm waiting for the power and weight - I joined a day after the deadline for qualifying, so I don't know power and weight... And I'm driving the #72 Xanavi Hiroto GT-R. I wanted a JGTC car that looks OK, and isn't used by others... Thing is, I can't dip much below the 1'47s with it (Stock power and weight) 👎
Still, she handles like a dream and has almost equal tyre-wear. I like it... Waiting for my power and weight, meanwhile running 0% 0%.

Number of pits, as well as strategies are allowed to be discussed?

Oooh, I like the way that one looks. Power is 499 and weight is 1080 to begin with... https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=89115

And yes, discussion about pits and strategies are able to be talked about. This season's been relatively quiet...

Me, tire wear, and this number of laps do not get along well... Argh. We'll see what I come up with. Not satisfied with any of the 3 different strategies I've tried yet, mainly because I can't get the tires to last as long as I want without driving TOO slowly.

Welcome to my world. I'm way to slow on RH and I wear out RMs in 5 laps.

Starting to look like 4 stopper for me. I just don't like going slow to save tires

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your DFPs...

:D

Finally!

Welcome to the club mate!

Now you just have to get used to it, best advice is listen to the tyres!

With a DFP you will find you will, at first anyway, get more under-steer than you used to. It's normal, and caused by over-control.
Small, smooth movements of the wheel is all you need to get the desired effects, unlike the DS2 where there is some in-built smoothing-out done by the game itself there is none with the DFP.
So take it easy!

That's okay but as I know Zeratul is a DFP-club member for a long time.He usually uses the DFP...and only occasionally the DS2.

Neil,did you used the RM's for 6 laps,didn't you?
I can't imagine a totally different pitting resume like this: 5-6-6-6 laps on RM's...The results will be very close...

I'm deciding between 5+6+6+6 and 5+5+5+8(RH). I think there will be less than 3 seconds difference between these two

Edit: actually one of these is about 15 seconds quicker !!!
Now I just have to put together clean run

Good news - I broke into 1'42s, bad news - I can't make RM tires last for 6 laps :-(

If memory serves me right, my first run had me going 7 laps on RM's, but that included a DTP for colliding hard with the wall coming off of Turn 17.:ouch: I'll try again with the three-stopper with RH's for the second stint again later today and may try the mixed tires setting later on.

With the NSX there's no reason to mix the tires because it wears the four pretty evenly. Most of the other cars we're up against wear out the fronts much faster than our NSX, but they have more front grip to compensate. 👍

CRXnut
Is it gonna be your first time using DFP ?
Nope, as GTXDriver pointed out, I'm a long-time member of the DFP Club :) Got my first one while playing GT4P. I spent all of last year traveling for work, so I was occassionally without my DFP (while it caught up to me in transit). I've just moved to Switzerland and had some trouble with getting my newly ordered DFP over the Xmas period (I also first ordered from a dodgy site, had to cancel, order someplace else, yada yada).

Anyway, I'm generally slow with the DS2, although I seem to be holding my own in qualy anyway. Just happy to have my wheel again 👍

P.S. For those interested in my DFP saga, the 2nd order arrived last Friday but spent the weekend in the company store room without me knowing about it. The 1st order, the one I canceled, arrived this morning *sigh*. So now I have to explain to the nice Swiss lady who speaks no English that she can come get her order and where's my damn refund?!

Well, this is kind of sucky and kind of good... I'm going to the mountain this weekend all of a sudden, and won't be able to play at ALL other than tonight. And I don't have much time tonight either. I'll probably do the 5/6/6/6 strategy I guess. Hopefully not too many if any people use RS tires this round, or else there go my chances of more points for a fast lap. I'll have about two, MAYBE three hours to race and submit tonight. Wish me luck!

Ah! No fun!

Ah my bad!
The memory's going fast, don't you know.

Haven't ran it yet, tommorrow will be the time.

Just got decent race done. Very unlucky with AI, never caught them where I could draft. Also got pushed off the track on the last lap which cost me about 6 seconds. All together I can see another 8-10 seconds to be gained.

Finished...
Got an interesting result,I think it is not fast at all,but I can't see where are hiding those seconds so I will send it.No penalties,no spins so I am happy with it.:)
My buddy in Simpson Racing Co.will crush me again.👍

PHEW! Lol. Just finished a pretty good race... Had a couple of close scares, but managed no penalties and no really bad laps! Not quite as consistent as I'd like, but damn close enough! Managed to squeeze in one lap on my limit as well... :sly:

On one lap, I got a little lazy with the joystick and nicked the Falcon as I was drafting it, hard enough that I thought I'd ruined my race!!! Luckily I wasn't forced into the pits... Then, on my next entry into the pits, I got bumped a little sideways by the rumbles and almost didn't make it in! That was quite another scare... :nervous: Overall, I bet I left between 10 achievable and 15 perfect seconds left in it. I'll have one more go right now, but my concentration will likely fade. We'll see!

Whichever's the best'll be submitted. Good luck to all!
-Kyle

EDIT: Nevermind... Had two blistering first laps, then on the third tossed it into the wall a little too hard... Then I tried restarting a couple of times, and went off in the first couple of turns three starts in a row. I think it's a sign. I have to do other stuff before I hit the sack anyway! So, submitting that lap, even if it wasn't as consistent as I'm capable of. No time! Should be good nuff for something good though. 👍

Three stopper for me, on RM's and RS's! 💡

That'll keep you guessing............

Where's the JGTC thread that shows what race is next? The cabin we're in has wireless and I'm borrowing someone's computer...??

I don't know if there is one. I looked a while back, but nothing.

Time submitted. Got a chance to run 3 races this morning. First one I crashed out on lap 18, second one I realized on lap 16 that I had the lap counter set to 20 (DOH!), so I finally set everything right for the third and managed to knock 45 seconds off my first try. But that's all I can stand of Grand Valley. Managed a best lap of 1:45.xxx, so I know that's not going to help, but I did do a 2-stopper. Figured the less time on pit-road, the better.

Hey Chris!

I'll see your two stopper with a 1'45.xxx, and raise you a two stopper with a low-mid 1'44.xxx!

Times on the way to Eats in a mo, but I got a 10 second penalty to add cos of missing qualifying, so not that hopefull.
One ray of sunshine is that not only did I get a 1'44 on mediums, I was doing 1'46.0xx -.7xx average laps on hard fronts.

Neil

Times sent!

I ran a 2 stop, no pens, no spins, very little contact race with a 1'55.xxx opening lap in 1st place before the right/left into the first tunnel.

L1-L8 + L9-L17 on RH/RM's
L18-L23 on RM/RS's
The limiting factor was rear tyre life.

Fastest lap on RH fronts was 1'46.1xx
