Pan Euro Championship RUF 3400S 00
After the success of doing the DTCM championship and had some money in the kitty, myself and the team decided to try an tackle the Pan Euro Championship. After some budgeting we only had about 450,000 to buy a car and including modifications as we needed the rest of our loads of money for other races.
So we decided to buy a RUF 3400S 00 in a dark blue colour, including a port polish, engine balancing, racing exhaust, full transmission, triple clutch, racing flywheel, full LSD, weight lightening stage 3, racing suspension, racing brakes, brake controller, a rollcage and medium and hard tyres and had enough money for changing oil and doing a car wash. This car would also be useful for the boxer races in the Professional Championship so it was money well spent. It was a good car when we tested it on track but as we could not put a rear wing at the back, downforce was going to be a concern especially at high speed, but that did not matter ..
Ok, we entered the Pan Euro Championship with our RUF tuned and equipped with hard sports tyres and not bother to do qualifying as a bit of a challenge. When we entered the championship we saw the field and it look like this:
Mercedes SLR McLaren 03
Jaguar XJ220 92
Cizeta V16T 94
Aston Martin DB9 Coupe 03
Audi RS 6 04
What a field we are up against and we found out it was 200 A-Spec points for each race even if we did do some modifications to the car ok lets go down to each race. More powerful cars versus a MR less so powerful car who will win...lets find out.

Lap 1: Rolling start in the tight but twisty Paris Street Circuit but managed to take the Mercedes SLR at the left hander, the Audi RS 6 dropped back to third after clipping the wall on the bus stop chicane. Was in fifth but end of lap one; I was hunting down the Cizeta and was 4 seconds down on the DB9.
Lap 2: Everyone was on sports mediums and I was able to pass the Cizeta before the complex left and hairpin left, so was in fourth overall, the Jaguar made a mistake on the fast left hander so I was able to pass him despite he spun off. At the time I was 3.452 seconds away from the DB9 but in 3rd place, status quo on the field.
Lap 3: Was hunting down the Audi RS 6 and just kept it easy until my tyres heated up nicely. He made a mistake going out of the right hander into the mini straight so I used my power to weight ratio advantage to take him on and put a move onto him, my friends on the pit wall said it was a good move and go for the Aston Martin. By the end of the lap I managed to claw it down to 2.1 seconds.
Lap 4: I was eating up the gap to the DB9; it just showed that powerful cars have a disadvantage on this tight and twisty circuit. I was able to catch up on the straight and in his draft but thought wisely and decided to coast around the lap staying behind him. Gap to the DB9 0.547 seconds.
Lap 5: I was hunting down the DB9 and managed to finally overtake him before the hairpin as he clipped the wall on the left hander, he did nudge me from behind and I did give him the hand raising, but I was pulling away from him and managed to stretch a second lead.
Lap 6: Managed to do my fastest lap of the race in clear air and was able to take the flag with the Aston Martin second 3.2 seconds behind with the Audi RS 6 third.

Lap 1: Standing start, so had to get the power right but as they were in more powerful cars they got away but managed to get them at the hairpin but disaster on the first corner as both the Aston Martin and Audi got caught into the gravel and both spin wide demoting them to fifth and sixth. Managed to keep it around the lap and by the end of the lap I was in fourth place.
Lap 2: Was 2.1 seconds behind the Mercedes SLR McLaren with the Jaguar XJ220 in second place, the Jaguar took the lead punting the Mercedes wide into the right hairpin after the sweeping S, in the meantime I was able to pass the Cizeta to take third just after the bridge into the tunnel. I was running third and the gap was 2.0 seconds from the Jaguar, with the Cizeta 4 seconds behind me after making a mistake on the final corner.
Lap 3: A stroke of pure luck, both cars managed to contact each other on the first hairpin with disaster consequences, both cars slipped into the gravel and both spun, gifting me a first place (later losers!!!!) and had a nice gap to the Cizeta and pulled my fastest lap of the race.
Lap 4 and 5: Nothing much, just pulled away from the Cizeta and was holding my own. The tyres were nicely warmed up to a glowing green and was going down the corners and running really well. I took the line from the Cizeta by 11 seconds with SLR McLaren third.

At the legendary Le Mans, thank goodness they put the chicanes on as I would have been swamped if there were no chicanes and it was the 6km straight. Anyway back to the race
Lap 1: From the rolling start, the Cizeta makes a bad start as he manages to spin on the chicane gifting me a nice fifth place. Thanks to getting off the fast right faster than the SLR, I was able to snatch fourth and was about to get 180 mph down the straight before the first chicane, not bad from a 338 bhp car. I was able to hold fourth place from the SLR on the first chicane, while the Jaguar took second place from the Audi RS 6 with Aston Martin DB9 in first place. I was able to catch the Audi RS 6 as he ran wide into the second chicane and lost a lot of speed and pass him down the straight. Not much happened until both the Jaguar and the Aston Martin both went into each other on the fast right hander before the left and was to snatch first. I was able to keep my cool and stay first going into Lap 2.
Lap 2: I was in first with the Mercedes SLR in second place being hounded by the Jaguar XJ220 after losing precious time clashing with the Aston. The Aston and Audi RS were passing each other in the battle for fourth while the Cizeta was having a bad time and spun for a second time on the right hander before the long first straight. I just kept a clean lap and managed to take the win by 16 seconds from the Jaguar XJ220 as he managed to pass the Mercedes SLR on the final chicane and take it by 3tenths of a second. While the Aston Martin managed to keep fourth place after the Audi made a mistake on the Porsche curve.

Lap 1: Rolling start for this race, managed to get the SLR on the first corner while the Audi and Cizeta were running away, but the Cizeta makes a mistake at the hairpin near the hotel before the tunnel and gifts the Aston third place while I managed to pass the Cizeta before the chicane at the tunnel. I was running fourth about 3 seconds behind the Audi.
Lap 2: I was reeling in both the Audi and the Aston as they both were trying to get first place, by the end of the lap I was able to catch up with the DB9 and RS 6 and managed to peg it down to 1 second. While the Mercedes made a hash of the chicane and ran right into the wall losing more time.
Lap 3: Pulled a daring move from into the tunnel, the Audi managed to take keep off the Aston but they both hit the wall. I was able to pass after the tunnel right into the outside and brake very late into the chicane and managed to take two on one and managed to get into first place. While the Audi was able to hold off the Aston, the Cizeta was having a hard time to keep the Jaguar away from its tail for the battle for third place.
Lap 4 and 5: Nothing much happens really; I manage to pull very fast laps without no mistakes and stretch the gap by the end of the final lap to 18 seconds, probably because the Aston and the Audi battling must be slowing themselves down and giving me a huge lead. While the Jaguar makes a mistake at the hairpin before the hotel hairpin after Casino corner and runs into the lay by and has to correct himself, effectively costing him third. The McLaren has a torrid time and spins in total 3 times in two laps by going too hot.
Lap 6: Managed to win the race without any dramas by a massive 21 seconds. The Audi manages to hold off the Aston to snatch second bring the rest of the positions wide open.

What a final race we are going to have, I have won the title by Cote D Azur while the Audi, Aston, Cizeta, Jaguar and Mercedes were all separated by just only 3 points. It was all going down to the last race, the fable but dreaded Nürburgring Nordschleife

Aston Martin DB9 Coupe 03
Jaguar XJ220 92
Mercedes SLR McLaren 03
RUF 3400S 00 (ME)
Lap 1: Rolling start for me and started last, I was able to pass the SLR into the fast right hander before the left right and another chicane. The Aston Martin managed to take second place from the Cizeta with the Audi in third place. I was in fifth by the end of the second time split 4 seconds behind from the leaders. I was able to take third place pretty easy as the Cizeta made a hash of the left right combo before the third split and the Jaguar running wide before that combo on the fast left hander. The Mercedes SLR overtakes both the Jaguar and the Cizeta and he breathing down my neck. I was still closing the gap and by the fast section after that technical bit (by T5 split) I was two seconds behind the Audi and the Aston, then the Audi runs wide before the Karussel corner gifting me second place and was closing fast on the Aston. Then by that technical bit of left and rights I managed to pass the Aston and trying to build onto a good lead. The good thing was that the Aston was holding off the SLR on that lap which built a nice lead for me to keep. By the end of the lap I was 18 seconds ahead of the Aston.
Lap 2: Nervous times, the McLaren SLR manages to pass the Aston into the first corner and I could not believe he was gaining on me. The team said the SLR was gaining about a 1 second a sector and had to do something, I could not do anything despite I was not making mistakes the stupid SLR was closing in every sector as the team were trying to push me. The Audi drops back to fifth after the Jaguar Flugplatz corner, while the Cizeta spins three times on a lap effectively cannot challenge for a final podium. The Aston Martin was in third place but was getting closed in by the Jaguar. By the long straight he was 7 seconds behind me and saw him down the straight and by the end before the last corners, he was 5 seconds behind me, dam I have to hold on I thought. The Audi spins on the technical left right corners after the Karussel section and was losing time. But thankfully I did off the SLR; the increase of gap on the first lap paid off and was able to hold off the Mercedes by 4 seconds at the line, what a relief. The team were happy and gave me full congratulations on the slowing down lap.
The Mercedes was in second place, knowing if the Aston fails to finish third, he takes second. Unfortunately the Jaguar did catch up to the Aston, but ran out of time and the DB9 pipped the XJ220 to take third effectively snatching second on the overall title. The Audi finishes fifth taking fourth overall, with the Jaguar and the Cizeta finishing the last two places.

OVERALL:
I win the title with a very underpowered car with some modifications and tuning required, beating the likes of Mercedes, Jaguar and Cizeta. The Aston takes second from the Mercedes making it two underpowered cars in the top three, while the Audi finishes one point behind the SLR to not finish in the top three. Overall, the rest of the field were separated by just 5 points and I bet the Audi, Jaguar and Cizeta must be disappointed to only be a couple of points away from a podium finish.
IN THE END .
I was about to get 1,000 A-Spec Points thanks to winning, able to beat 5 more powerful cars than me. Me and the team won 105,000 total prize money for our efforts and win a cool and sleek JAGUAR XJ220 LM Edition '01 as my reward.
Hope you enjoyed reading my report, thanks to PD and Sony for this championship. Until next time ..its goodbye from me and goodbye from him. See you next time.
