took a trip up to the hot marques trackday today :D was a little worried about the weather but it didnt rain and stayed decent all day.first off me and a friend went down next to the chicane to get some pictures,an rb320 impreza and p1 both lost it in the first few laps :nervous: getting very sideways, lucky noone ran into them.guess thats cold tyres and a damp track for you!
After around an hour we worked our way round to the pitlane to try and get some passenger runs round the track,as a vag fan i had my eye on getting a go in the golf r32,the car was brand new and only had just under 600miles on the clock  owner wasnt really pushing it much as it was his first trackday so he was taking it easy so he didnt crash it.got back into the pitlane and my friend was wanting a go in the 993 that was there and he said he would take him out on the track but he forgot and took someone else out :grumpy: so as we were walking down the pitlane we got chatting to the owner off the r32,i thought it was one of the rwd versions as it had a GT badge on the side and he was like no no its a top secret GTR....wtf,was rather shocked at that  so then the question how much power and he said it was just over 600bhp and revs to 9500rpm!!my friend then asked if it would be ok for a couple of passenger laps and the owner said sure.i remember my first time around knockhill, that was in a mk4 golf gti that had been chipped to 230bhp and the suspension on that broke after the 3rd lap,and knockhill is a rather scary track so it was safe to say he looked abit scared while putting on the 4 point race harrness :lol:after a couple of laps they came back in and my friend loved it.
Now i do admit im not much of a skyline fan but i asked the owner if it was ok if i could come out for a few laps and he said sure,so now it was my turn  stopped at the end of the pitlane and waited till the redlight goes up and the gtr wheelspinned in first then at the start of 2nd before the 4wd kicked in and the thing just took off, although it wasnt as brutal as the gallardo but certainly faster!having had a total of over 150 passenger laps of knockhill i would say i pretty much know all the braking points but the skyline just seemed to have an ungodly amount of grip, whereas before cars ive been in have braked, the skyline just stayed on the throttle and wasnt seemed to be bothered by it,only time it got out of shape was getting the rear out around the hairpin.
spent most of the day with this guy and 2 girls from aberdeen with impreza's(black sti and a blue bugeyed sti) really nice people had a good time talking with them.the guy was rather annoyed though has he owned both the imprezas but had forgotten his driving licence hence he had to trust the 2 girls with his cars round the track, both were extremely good drivers and they annoyed a few of the other guys cause they were keeping up with them :lol:had a chat with the owner of the 350z to see how is car was as it wasnt running right at the trackday a couple of weeks ago and its now down from 604bhp to 200  really good day out, cant wait for the next one on wednesday :)

should have the vids of me in the skyline and golf tomorrow when i get them off my friend

They all came with the GT badge on the side, RWD and 4WD.
ah ok,wasnt too sure on that as all of the skyline i had seen before with the GT badges on the side have ether been non turbos or RWD.
have to say im pretty sore now after the go in the skyline yesterday.forgot to put the highlight of the day was in the golf r32,heading up the straight the RB320 was trying to pass us,so the driver in the golf moved over and the rb320 was starting to over take us,then from no where the extreme motorsport time attack evo passed both of us on the outside, ended up going 3 wide on the knockhill straight just before the braking area :nervous:

some more pics, love the last one my friend took when we were coming back into the pit lane, still to get videos of the r32 golf though as the files were taking to long on msn
