Gotta say, I'm fairly pleased. I'm looking forward to oldschool Honda reliability + gas mileage. It needs some cosmetic things but other than some basic maintenence the car runs pretty good. So on to the pics. I'm going to miss driving my Camaro around.

That's an awesome choice. 👍

Congrats and have fun, just be sure to obey the rules and laws of the road.

Good choice in a Honda, JCE. It'll give you many years of happiness.

I'm sure you've noticed that the Lude is comfortable, sporting, practical, and just generally pretty cool. Put an intake on that big motor (hey, it's big for a Honda  ) and you'll find it hard to stay out of VTEC. The sticker might have good gas mileage, but anyone who can spell VTEC might as well chop those in half!

I'm going to drive it as economically as possible. Which means under my care my tach won't reach 6k RPMS--or at least I hope not.

Unless you're completely devoid of driving enthusiasm you'll have it up to 7500 once. Then twice. And soon you'll be giving friends rides so they can feel the VTEC kick in.

And then you'll sell your Camaro. :sly:

Very nice, looks like fun. I'd still say its one of the best Hondas they ever made...

Thats not bad on a Honda. It still has another 100K left in it.

Come to think of it, Grandpa's Prelude has the same amount of miles on it (if I recall), but thats 20 years old this year...

Guys, guys. That's break-in period. He could drive it as hard as he wanted...I guess the window switches are up to it.

The regulators and motors all around need to be replaced. But they still work--albeit slowly.

Congrats on the new car 👍! It's always nice to bring something new home.

Congrats! Screw mileage. Enjoy it on a few occasions. Now, get friendly with Boz Mon and it will be smooth sailing. 👍

You=Jesus. Nicely done 👍 Is it a 97 or 98? Same color as mine 👍 You will really enjoy it and its not hard to get decent mileage but dont forget to use premium(I usually average around 25-27 and 29 on rare occasions that is shifting at like 3500 to 4k revvs I have a theory about the h22 and gas mileage that I could type if you want). Nicely done once again, always nice to see another Prelude around 👍

Its a '97. I'd love any info you have. I'm completely new to Honda so I need to start learning--and learn from a mature person and not some ricer forum. Wiki has given me some technical details but I need quirks, things to look for, and just general info. Thanks!

Thanks for the congrats guys. :)

Nicely done! the Preluds sounds like a good solid daily...that'll have fun when you want it to.

so, what for the Camaro? Streetable race car?

Sarcasm or serious-ness?

For a Japanese car, it still drives like :sly: at that kind of mileage, or they should be.

Anyway, congrats on the purchase, I've always had a sweet spot for the Prelude, the only Honda I've got a sweet spot for actually

Enjoy that ride

C4 Vette LT1 + roots supercharger or twin turbo + 4L60E tranny + 2002 Trans-Am interior + orange exterior paint + black stripes + blacked out headlights/taillights + SS Camaro style rims = one badass ride.

Thanks. Preludes have always been my favorite Honda (and pretty much the only Honda I really like).

Nice car man, I like that shape Perlude. Good choice on the manual, i didnt think they existed there:lol: Was your Camaro a manual?
A lot of stone chips, probably done a lot of those miles on the motorway I think?

I'll sell your kids before I sell my Camaro. :sly: 👍

Hahaha

Well, the only things that come to mind right now are to check the oil at least once a week until you know how much oil it uses between changes, which is usually around 1qt per 3000 miles but it varies. Also, I hope you looked into if the timing belt was changed at 90k miles, if not, it needs to be done along with the auto tensioner. If I think of any other info, I will let you know.

To quote another member here:

"Japanese cars will run like a top until 150K Miles or so, then everything breaks at once, but American cars will run like crap from 50K miles on but wont need much else."

no, it was something like "American cars run bad longer than Japanese cars run at all."

I'm confused it takes Premium?

Aside from that it looks like an awesome car i've always loved Preludes. 👍

No it wasn't, I was the one that posted it, or at least one of the people that posted it. I can't find where though...
