I finished Simulation mode 2 years ago and got 100% complete last summer, but now I started playing a little more and I was thinking it would be cool to win using the fewest number of cars you could.

Here's what I came up with. If anybody has corrections or better ideas, please let me know. I'm a new member here because I tried posting this at GranTurismo.com and got no replies.

I'm not listing where you have to get the cars, but that's easy enough to look up. Everything should work out fine if you do the races in the right order (may require saving before the last race in a series to get the right car sometimes).

Winning with 18 cars:

Any car you use can never be sold. Any car you aren't going to use must be sold immediately. If you're going to use a car, it has to be upgraded immediately and used as-is for the rest of the game. After the initial upgrade, you can't change any parts on cars (besides tires/oil/settings). You can't buy any cars besides a Mercedes and a Tuscan.

1) Mazda Miata MX-5 LS (unmodified): Roadster Endurance
2) Renault Clio Sport Race Car: Clio Trophy
3) VW New Beetle Cup Car: Beetle Cup, all 3 FF Challenges
4) Spoon Civic Type R: only prize car that can do the Type-R Meeting
5) Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor: both Silver Arrows
6) TVR Tuscan Speed Six: Tuscan Challenge
7) Toyota Vitz RS 1.5 (pink): Vitz Race
8) Altezza LM Race Car: Altezza Race, all 3 FR, all 3 Turbo
9) Skyline GT-R Vspec II (R32): Red Emblem, 80's, 4WD
10) Suzuki Alto Works: Lightweight K Cup
11) Subaru Impreza Rally Car Prototype (or race car w/ rally tires): all Rally
12) Audi TT 1.8T Quattro: Tourist Trophy
13) Pagani Zonda Race Car: Italian Avant Garde
14) Lotus Motorsport Elise: Elise Trophy
15) RUF 3400 S: Spider & Roadster and Boxer Spirit
16) any Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution: Evolution Meeting
17) F094/H: all F1 races, all MR, all NA, etc.
18) GT40, Cobra, Viper Concept or Z06 (normal): Polyphony Digital Cup, Trial Mountain Endurance and Stars & Stripes

Winning with 17 cars:

Same rules as above. Same list as above, except you don't use the RUF 3400 S. Use the Impreza with rally tires for the Boxer Spirit and use the SLK 230 Kompressor for the Spider & Roadster. I don't actually know if it's possible to win Pro Spider & Roadster with the SLK...

Winning with 16 cars:

No rules except that any car you use can never be sold, and any car you aren't going to use must be sold immediately.

It's mostly the same as the list above, but:

Don't use the Spoon Civic Type R, RUF 3400 S, or the GT40/Cobra/Viper/Z06.

Buy an Acura Integra Type R and use it for Stars & Stripes and Type-R Meeting.

Get a Zonda C12S instead of the race car and use it for Italian Avant Garde and remove the upgrades to use it in Polyphony Digital Cup & Trial Mountain Endurance.

Use the Impreza Rally Car Prototype for the Boxer Spirit and use the SLK 230 Kompressor for the Spider & Roadster.

Pretty good logic there, Badtz, and welcome to GTP. A lot of talk has been made about buying the least number of cars in a game, but not much about simply using the least number. As an aside, it has been determined that the Ruf 3400S is the single car eligible for the largest number of specialty races, if that helps you any. Cheers, and welcome aboard,

:Duke

PS - my wife tells me I look like Badtz-Maru, so I have quite a number of Badtz paraphenalia around.

Doing the 16-car thing would be a little tricky. You'd have to get the Miata from B-License all-gold, then win the Roadster Endurance and sell your prize car, then you'd have at least $122,225. Then you could buy the Integra and upgrade it. If you wanted to keep buying to a minimum, then you'd have to keep running races with the Miata till you had the cash to get a Mercedes SLK or a Tuscan. But if you happened to get the F688/S from the Roadster Endurance, you might as well keep the thing and go for 17 cars.

18 cars is probably the most practical, because then you can keep the RUF 3400 S, and if you wanted to get all golds in the license tests, you could start off with the Viper Concept and immediately do the Polyphony Digital Cup and get the F094/S.

The S License is hard to get gold on, but if you were able to get gold on B-8 and get the Miata, you can easily get the RX-8 from the A License, which can win the PD Cup.

I started a new game, and so far I've gotten all the golds and did all of Arcade Mode in the first 48 days, then on day 49 I did the Polyphony Digital Cup with the Viper Concept from the S License and got the F094/S. I finally managed to get the Clio Race Car from Super Speedway Endurance (I reloaded after getting two F090/S's and a Tickford first). I think I'll be able to get 100% using only 17 cars, only buying 2 of them, and not selling anything. So, it looks like what I'll do is:

Viper GTSR Concept (from S License): PD Cup, Trial Mountain End., Stars & Stripes
Miata MX-5 LS (from B License): Roadster End.
Impreza Rally Car Prototype (from R License): Rally and Boxer Spirit
F094/S (from PD Cup): F1 races, etc.
Clio Sport Race Car (from Super Speedway End.): only winnable Clio Trophy car
New Beetle Cup Car (from Clio Trophy): Beetle Cup, FF Challenges
Vitz RS 1.5 (from Beg. FF Challenge): Vitz races
Spoon Civic Type R (from Pro FF Challenge): only winnable Type R car
Altezza LM Race Car (from Pro Vitz race): Altezza races, FR Challenges, Turbo
Skyline GT-R Vspec II (R32) (from Beg. GT World Champ): Red Emblems, 80's Cups, 4WD
Alto Works (from Beg. 4WD Challenge): Lightweight
Lancer Evolution VII GSR (from Am. 4WD Challenge): Evolution Meeting
TT 1.8T Quattro (from Am. American Championship): Tourist Trophy
Zonda Race Car (from Pro All Japan GT): Italian Avant Garde
Elise 190 (from Am. Euro Championship): only winnable Elise Trophy car
SLK 230 Kompressor (need to buy): Silver Arrows, Spider & Roadsters
Tuscan Speed Six (need to buy): Tuscan Challenge

That's 17, and I don't know of any way to use fewer cars other than to ditch the Viper, buy an Integra to use in Stars & Stripes and Type-R, then use a Zonda C12S for PD Cup, Trial Mountain End. and Italian Avant Garde. That makes the order of things more complicated, though, and I'd rather not have to pay for a 3rd car when I only have to buy two.

The 3400 S can enter a lot of things, but all of those (except Boxer Spirit) can be covered by other cars that you are forced to use for specific events, so I think I'll just use the Impreza Prototype.
