:D

Yes I have played GT4 and it was bloody amazing, I also tested of the New Logitech Driving Force Pro,

- First of all, The steering wheel was just perfect, nice smooth 2 and a half turns to each lock, also there was nice layout of buttons: D-pad, x,o etc. I also used the gearshift and that was great with swift, reponsive gearchange and the paddle shifting was decent, too.

- On to the Game, The build that I played was very similar in kind to the one at E3, but this also included the tight rome circuit which is called Citta de Aria, The track itself was tight and challenging with some of the most beautiful scenery seen in a racing game, ever. I also tested out the NEW Fuji Speedway Circuit which was also quite great, this track was very reminiscent of High Speed Ring, which was good. Grand canyon is also amazing, long swooping corners with dust erosion and complexion, a pure rally thorughbred racing track.

- Third, they had the Subaru Simulator that was seen in the Making video, I had a great turn on that, it was with the NEW Impreza Rally Car and it had three screens, it was an amazing GT Exprience.

-Fourth, Most of the cars were pratically the same as the cars at E3, I saw my brother try out the prowler and the driver looked great in full 3D and is animated very well. The muscle cars were great like the Plymouth Hemi Cuda, Camaro Z28, Pontiac GTO, just to name a few. The New Impreza and Evolution 8 were excellent driver's cars. Unfortunately, I did not see the vehicles backfire in the build version that they had.

Overall, it was great playing GT4 with the wheel, I beleive the Steering Wheel is a must to fully comprehend and adhere the NEW GT Exprience that is Gran Turismo 4!!!

What were the ques like to get onto the game and how long were you able to play for? Were people hurrying others off so they could get a go?

Ah, shame. I'm just a little worried that shed loads of pikies will take over the place, cause chaos and prevent people like me and you nitro from getting some game time :(

yeah, i am slightly worried about the queues and the pikies at this.... they shoulda had it further south, then the pikies wouldn't have been able to get there :D. **cough** Haywards Heath **cough** :).

But they had to put it smack bang in the middle of london :).

aj

PS. Does anyone fancy trying to steal a few of the GT4 rigs as the place closes, I'll drive, you grab

Pffft! Southerners! :D

I can't recall when this event finishes... Might even be today... Dang. Been to busy to go :(

let me tell you i did it with the NEW Evo 8 and the new wheel(my avatar) and it was pure italian bliss, scenery was ohh inspring and the streets were narrow and fast, just how the driver sof GT4 like 'em. Much better track than Rome.

quick summary.....:

grand canyon looks GREAT, all the other tracks, mediocre, very GT3 graphics.

all cars are very skittish, muscle cars spin like anything, i was taking new york track at 50kph every corner, brake early too :D.

queued up for ages at the official challenge stage, didn't get picked.... i was better than everyone who tried though.... prize was a £16,000 Honda Civic Type R :banghead: :banghead:

gah, i'm so bitter i didn't get picked

i played all the tracks:

Tsukuba, New York, Grand Canyon, Fuji, Cita De Aria (spelling)

in a mix of an old corvette, and the Subaru Impreza.

the rally physics are a big improvement, for anyone that knows the pendulem effect, it works even better in GT4, i was swinging em round the corners :)

roll on 26th Dec (Amazon) or 7th January (everywhere else) :)

aj

PS. On a side note, Colin McCrae 4 is great too :)

I have a curiosity: anyone can say me if any turn of "citta di aria" is a true hairpin? a 1st gear turn?

is only a curiosity, thanks

yes the one in the far left corner of the map. that was pretty tight even in a EVO VIII!

I was using a Levin for that.

Did you guys run the races with no drivers aids and in manual, I did anyway everyone else seemed to be using AT with all thre drivers aids.

I took the Chevelle on the new york track, bloody hell it was hard to control, mainly because I had no real analog acceleration, just the D-Pad buttons. Then I ran Fuji in the Lotus Europa, although the track layout seems a tad different from when it appeared in TOCA. Tskuba I used the JZA70 supra and was sprised on how easy that circuit was, apart from the last sweeping corner. Grand canyon I used the New Impreza WRC car and found it quite easy, well after I knocked a whol load of fences iver. Although I also tried to drive off the cliff at certain unbarriered sections, but an invisable wall stopped me. Citta de aria had me driving a Levin, boy are there allot of sharp turns on that track, but it was great with quite a few elevation changes.

I as too lazy to queue up to use the big simulator thing and use the steering wheeled GT4's. I did play some more, but that's mainly the stuff I can remember. The handling, is werd though, but it was probably just because I like to use the other analog stick to brake and accelerate.

It was awesomes though.

Edit, I don't care if I made spelling mistakes. So STFU n00b's probably.

What the hell, why is my post here?

Apparently the Cita De Aria track is in the ''city of song'' Asisi in Italy acording to another thread around here somewhere.
I have seen (on a PS2 mag DVD) film of a Skyline running around this track it looks awesome and so does Fuji 👍. I guess the Asisi track is a tarmac rally stage?

HELL YA FINALLY A TARMAC RALLY TRACK!!!
Something that's been missing from the rally racing portion of the GT games (Well one of the things, now all they need is at least one track where you race on snow and one you race on gravel).

I dont know if they will be able to get all that in the game although there is more emphasis on the rally part of the game this time (acording to an interview with the creator I read) much more than GT2 and 3.

Well there was the Wet race in GT3 on tarmac. Hope that Italian track can be raced with all cars not just Rally.

Looks like you can race both :)

Looks like you can race any car on Asisi from what i saw at PSexperience today. I did chose an EVO 8 though which is classed as a rally car too, but i'm pretty sure you can race any car. It's a damn hard track i tell you!

it was on all cabinets using gt4, the ones where u stand up to play it, not sitting in the simulator or racing seats.

what show where u at?
