Hosts should start on time tonight. The only reason to delay start is to allow a driver already in the lobby their 3 minutes to sort out connection issues

Since I joined the Snail Racing League (Jan of 2024 - Closing in on 400 races), I think that the collection of Combos that were selected for the action last night were the most enjoyable I've been a part of. I considered skipping the voting process because it would be unjust to vote out one of those Combos.

Good stuff and have a good week.

Snails,
I tuned into GTPlanet’s 25th Anniversary Party Live Steam this afternoon as some background noise and thought I’d pass a Happy 25th Anniversary to the website on behalf of Snail Racing League.

Shortly thereafter, we got a little bit of love on the broadcast in return. All part of my recruiting initiatives.

@Jordan - Thanks for hosting our league and cheers to the next 25 years.

Awesome shout out to SNAIL ! Nice

It wouldn’t be possible without the involvement of the BoD and multiple volunteers that makes SNAIL unique and well organized. But it also wouldn’t be possible without this forum created 25 years ago.

Thanks @Jordan and the whole team for creating and maintaining this platform alive for 25 years now. Here’s to another 25 !

Been a GTplanet member since 2009 and I’m glad the passion for GT is still alive and well on a forum that in 2026 is so refreshing in the current state of the internet and social media. Long live GTPlanet and SNAIL !

@DRD_Niagara our lead recruter, that was a good idea, well played.

Division 1

  2. Ridger23 ---------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  3. Oshawa-Joe -------- voted to eliminate Round 1 - Prize A
  4. Dragonwhisky ------ voted to eliminate Round 1 - Prize C
  5. DRD_Niagara ------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  6. GTP_Worstdriver --- did not submit a vote
  7. Skills_19657 ------ did not submit a vote
  8. Kgffty ------------ did not submit a vote
Division 2
  1. JamCar0ne --------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  2. RacingChamp30 ----- voted to eliminate Round 1
  3. Canoworms1 -------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  4. Ou8beaver2 -------- voted to eliminate Round 2 - Prize B
  5. arethosetacos ----- voted to eliminate Round 3
  6. VikeBike ---------- did not submit a vote
The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - BMW M3 '03 (SH) at Deep Forest Raceway - Reverse - S03 afternoon (9 laps)
Therefore, the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. @Oshawa-Joe wins Prize A, and gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - BMW M2 Competition '18 (SM) at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit - S13 Sunset (10 laps)
This means either the car or track will be replaced for next week's line-up. @Crunchy Taco is the Prize B winner and they have the option to freeze the car or the track, or they can give that option to the Prize C winner. If they give the freeze away, they get to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Dragonwhisky - they get whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it's confirmed you don't have any penalties.
  • It is recommended you visit SNAIL combo history, along with other data on our car and track history, to review how many times we've raced each car and/or track.
  • Please remember, originality is always appreciated. Although not required, picking cars and tracks we've never raced is a plus.
  • What's more important is, you thoroughly test any combo you are considering, before making it your official selection.
    • For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter, either hard1 or soft2, at any point during a race, even in the draft.

IMPORTANT:
  • When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting.
    • For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98".
    • If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza".
    • Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers.
  • Please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select.
  • For track selections, include the Preset Weather and the Time of the Day (e.g.: S01 Afternoon) or it will be set to default.
    • Available settings can be found under Time/Weather Settings, when creating an online Lobby, after selecting your track.

Car Selection Guidelines
See Section 3 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines.

Track Selection Guidelines
See Section 3.1 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines
.

1Hitting the "hard" limit causes the RPMs to "bounce" and reduces torque and speed.
2Hitting the "soft" limit ceases all acceleration potential. Meaning, you're not going to go any faster.

Prize B freeze the track Brands Hatch GP.
We'll be taking a car that, by the data here, has never been raced in SNAIL. Since the one I have is already painted up in my SNAIL livery, I reckon it was an alternate pick for an LCD or UCD car and never got pulled in.

At any rate, and without further adieu,
Prize C;
MINI Cooper S '05
MDLT at Brands Hatch Gran Prix Circuit, S13 Sunset = 1:50.xxx (I turned a high 49 in full manual w/clutch)

@JamCar0ne (had you in mind for this one) ;)

Great pick, I think I picked it once as a backup car but we ended up not using it.

I’m a sucker for never used cars in SNAIL

Just getting to the last bit of that podcast.

Shout out to @Jordan & @ChazDraycott for the shoutout. Shout out to @zer05ive and all the past and present SNAILs! Very gratifying to hear a mention of our efforts in this corner of GTPlanet.

If anyone else wants to skip, god forbid you do, the mention by Chaz happens at about 1:55:00 in the cast and Jordan's comments regarding SNAIL are at about the 2:00:00 mark.

I feel compelled to mention, @Famine should probably be considered for Sainthood, or be Knighted, for his patience with some folks around the forums.

I'm fully aware that some of you are in the last preparation for our big Finale tomorrow night in the Porsche SuperCup series but there's also the Sunday Spec Races who continues in the side.

As usual I'll manage a practice lobby for theses races. Open at 9:15pm EST, first race at 9:30pm, all three combo twice, 3/4 of distance (or so) and reverse grid (unless some of you asking for starting from the back). See you there!

Thanks for the practice.

I'm currently inactive and would like to become active for Sunday if possible.
I'm not certain of the procedure for returning members, but you can get the ball rolling by following the instructions to join in the first post of this thread.

I guess I’ll kick things off with the carshow at one of the absolute worst scapes, a random commercial strip parking lot, PD never ceases to surprise us all.

Big Altima Energy spotted in the background, 05-06 Nissan Altima with a missing door handle on the driver’s door because they all break (had an 04 Altima as my first car) and a 02-04 Infiniti i35 (rebadged Maxima of the era) what a sight !
