Wait... did I just see traction control is prohibited for every race? Thats crazy... Im not there yet.... The lap time I turned in for placement i was using TC at 2... so that's not accurate at all. This kinda blows. I get the point in learning to drive without it... but competitive racing isn't the place... my car control will go way down and ill end up taking people out.So I guess I just stay out of the races till I learn. Sucks.... so SNAIL is for A drivers.

Hey, I was in the same spot when i first joined and tbh I still struggle with it. A lot of us in B division (actually i think all of us) are below A rating. Still show up, nobody will tske it personally if theres an accident and its a great way to learn. Ive been the cause of a few incidents and I still always feel welcome on sunday nights. Hope to see you there.

Yeah... ill be there... just a kick to the groin and ego i guess but I do see the bigger picture. I'll figure it out.

I monitored this chat for quite some time before I finally expressed interest and joined. For the first few weekends, i was finishing dead last 15 seconds behind the guy who finished 2nd last. But I found the group to be very helpful on race nights and on Thursday practices. At first I just tried to fit in with the group and with time, gained confidence in myself and the trust of those around me.

It really is a stress free environment. You win...great. You lose...who cares. You will progress as a driver. If you give Snail 3 or 4 weeks, it'll grow on you.

As @ZoomZoomMf said, I hope to see your name on the grid tonight.

Not by any means is SNAIL for DR-A rated drivers. There's only about 5-6 drivers in Div 1 with A or A+ DR ranks, and one of them carried his A rating over from GT Sport.

We are much more interested in drivers with high SR ranks. SNAIL does not set lobbies to require either DR or SR specific ranks. In any case, take it easy and let the "race" come to you. Ain't nobody being paid to win a race in SNAIL Sundays, even though some take it somewhat more seriously than others. And yes, it's generally a good idea to leave the ego hanging on a hook elsewhere.

The current lobby settings can be found in this post, or, if you're a google sheet fiend, you can have a look at this sheet, which is what that post reflects.

@Apomorphine welcome to Division2. D2 is populated with DR B, C and D drivers, so lots of variation. On my first time in an aid restricted lobby I was shocked to learn I couldn't use TC or line markers. My goal that night was to only be lapped by 1st place, not the whole field. Since then I've learned all those assists are a distraction. And you will end up being faster without TC, you just have to be more judicious with your right foot. Ease on, don't hammer it. See you tonight.

My last post re: Aces of Thunder...get it. In VR it is an absolute blast. The Thrustmaster T.Flight joystick has made all the difference. I'm not a master of controllers and the joystick is sooo intuitive and an absolute must. I absolutely love it, and flying around in test flight mode is cool. Now I have to learn how to fly planes in a dogfight. Perfect.
I was unaware of this game until you mentioned it. I've added it to my 'wishlist' so perhaps I will get it some day.

D1 replays shared. Ya'll might want to laugh at D1's keystone kops action in R3R2.

I highly recommend it. I'm finding it difficult. It's a flying simulator, which means I need to learn how to fly planes, and then shoot stuff down. I've tried shooting stuff down, but I'm not good enough...yet. But it's an absolute blast to fly planes over the countryside, especially in WWI biplanes. The VR effect is worlds above GT7, really remarkable.

3500b and hard tires was a horrible idea. Not sure where to vote yet... but that was garbage.
I stand corrected. While it has been my experience that voting occurred in the lobby, I have since learned that all scores and votes have a deadline of 8 pm eastern. So post your vote here and it will be recorded. Let me guess...

@Apomorphine, @DriftstarE it was nice to see some new guys racing with us. Hoping you both have enough fun to come back on another night!
It was easily the most fun racing I've had on GT7. I got into several back and forth clean battles that were hella fun!! Once I get a wheel that doesnt disconnect and learn a little more right foot control exiting low speed corners with no TC....

Had a blast!!

And yes... i vote to never race the 3500b with less than RM or RS options.
