I'll kick off the Car-Show this week...

On March 1 1973, Pink Floyd released the album The Dark Side of the Moon. I recall discovering this album in high-school in the early 90's. While not my favorite Pink Floyd album (that would be Animals or The Final Cut) there's no doubting the legacy The Dark Side of the Moon left behind.

A lifetime regret of mine is skipping out on Pink Floyd's Division Bell tour at Exhibition Place (Toronto) in 1994. But I did manage to see Roger Waters 4 times.

Or Meetwo?
Maybe MeeToo? Hey, we're stuck in traffic.. Me Too.
Two or Too makes more sense than Toe.
How about MyTwo. If it only holds two passengers, then My (car) Two (passengers) makes a lot of sense. Especially if they are trying to compete with my daily ride, the ForTwo.

2 possible answers..

What “MiTo” Means

Mi = Milan

Where Alfa Romeo was founded in 1910

Symbolizes the brand’s design heritage and style

To = Turin (Torino)

Where the MiTo was built

Historically the heart of Italy’s automotive industry

So the name represents a bridge between Milan’s style and Turin’s engineering.

Or maybe..

Mito means myth or legend in Italian.

That is a deep answer @Oshawa-Joe but how do you pronounce it?

On our way to the GV to drop off the PoP, We got lost in the Mow Javee, near where I used to live and work, many, many moons gone by.

Question.... and please be honest. For the D1 drivers...

How many hours a week are you dedicating to the hobby?
Are all of you taking time to go through replays and analytics?

Nothing in sim racing comes naturally to me so I try to get on for at least 2 hours each day while the wife is out. Sometimes more on the weekends in preparation for Sunday night. But my kids are all adults and I don't work 50+ hours a week anymore, so it's easier now. Yes replays are a great resource.

I split up my time between TTs, SNAIL combos, Weekly Challenges and Power Pack racing. I get bored if I do the same thing too much.

I think I average 60 mins of seat time a day. Kids are in their teenage years and need to be driven around quite a bit and pull me away.

My seat is also split up between many of things @Oshawa-Joe has mentioned.

Hope to see you tonight.

During my first year with SNAIL, I drove almost every day. A year and a half prior, I built my first setup, so I put over 400 hours into the game. I have much less time to practice now, but all those hours eventually paid off.

And yes, replays were a huge help during those first few months with SNAIL.

Like I mentioned over here, I used to practice for many hours during the week. Once I became a SNAIL Steward, I spent more time watching replays than I did actually driving. I am by no means a true D1 driver. The only reason I'm there is because SNAIL doesn't have 3+ divisions.

These days, I spend 1-1.5 hours in the Sunday warmup lobby and that's all. I usually watch replays of the races I was in on Monday evening, more for any incidents I may have caused than anything else. Occasionally, I'll run a sport mode TT and/or the weekly challenges. I found, early in my SNAIL career, the more I practiced the more I expected from myself and experienced frustration when I didn't meet those expectations.

Bottom line - I may play (drive) GT7 4-5 hours a week, if that.

Other bottom line - You'll get out of it what you put in.

Ready for tonight !

@Apomorphine Usually I do a 10 minute practice session with every combo once or twice during the week plus practice session on sunday nights before the races.

This week has been pretty busy with friends from out of town that came to stay at our home the last few days so I’ll be discovering the combos with you guys during practice.

Ironically, the 6 or so fastest drivers in D1 do little to no practice for Sunday night and are all competing for the podium and fastest lap. Then you have the rest of us.

Well, thankfully, FS25 still has AI and, while they've improved compared to previous versions, they are still Artificial Idiots, so I don't have to do everything in the game. I will admit to having tractors, trucks and combines running almost every hour I've been home since Monday evening last. I've had 9 AI running at once and about to test my PC to find out if it can run 10, seeding 13 fields. May get them started tonight before racing.

@Apomorphine , please keep in mind, long time SNAIL and Gran Turismo veterans, to include those in D2, have well over 10,000 hours in GT, spanning 3-4+ versions of the game. None of them "got gud" overnight. As I think I've posted previously in this thread somewhere, while innate talent can shorten the process considerably, it still takes 5 (40hr/week work) years to become an "expert". That's if you subscribe to that general rule. Those "6 or so" Joe mentions? They've already so far exceeded that 10K hour rule it doesn't even bear thinking about. Just call them 👽👾and be done.

If you wanna' be that 👽 fast, reconcile yourself to every waking (and some sleeping) hour you aren't doing something else, snuggling up to your controller of choice and wrapping yourself up in GT.
