As previously mentioned, we've once again partnered the world's foremost brand of low frequency audio transducers to bring you an exiting prize contest! Rules for the ButtKicker Challenge V:
  • One ButtKicker point will be awarded for each Sunday night race that a drivers competes in
  • Drivers who are not on the starting grid for any reason (network issues, being late, etc) will not receive a ButtKicker point for that race
  • Any driver that is imposed a penalty by the stewards will also be docked an equal amount of ButtKicker points
  • The more ButtKicker points a driver has earned, the better odds he will have at winning the random prize drawing
  • ButtKicker points will be docked for inappropriate behavior in the lounge or on the thread (e.g. posting a public racing complaint instead of filing an incident report)
  • This prize will not be shipped outside the United States or Canada

Hosts should start the night's racing at the scheduled time. The only reason to wait is to allow someone who has already been in the room their 3 minutes to return in the event of a DC or to sort existing issues. Seeing someone log on to PSN is NOT a reason to hold the start of the night.

Haha. I mean, that post was like 3 years ago...
On that note. No promises, but after new year I may be back. Having sworn off consoles, I am severely disgruntled with the PC gaming community. Not many games out there that aren't being ruined by hackers and modders. Games like GTA V are pretty much unplayable because of it. Freaking aids.
Gotta finish this last semester first though.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Mitsubishi HSR-II '89 (Sports: Medium) at Circuito di Roma / Reverse (9 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @socalnatv wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Junior (Racing: Medium) at Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit (5 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @TomMang_68 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @src_ej6 so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Normally i would choose to freeze the track, but in this case Mt. Panorama is a tad glitchy , especially with those pesky invisible walls that "stop cars dead in their tracks". Furthermore, i do love me some redbull jr ANNNNND (spoiler alert) Max's win in Malaysia is inspiring. So why not freeze that Red Bull Jr. one more time.. (you know you love it @socalnatv )

Shame that Vettel had to start from the back and do damage control but the gap only increased by 6 points so not too bad I guess?

I looked at the demo GT S vs PC 2. Visually GT S is taking PC 2 to school. The winner of the sound still goes to PC 2. However PC 2 falls so far behind in the graphics department that the sound alone can't lift it up.

Fair enough. One is trying to replicate real life and has a lot trying to happen at once while the other is more game like and continues to excel there. The CEO of SMS @Ian Bell himself admits GT has them beat in the graphics department.

I agree with this somewhat. I still think GT does still aim to be sim, but the brand is willing to bend the "rules" of sim in order to earn brownie points.

Opinion: GT graphics sometimes exaggerate color saturation to make the visuals pop and look prettier, at the expense of realism.

It's too bad GT is solely stuck to the PlayStation because I'd buy it on PC if I could.
 
Hey everyone! Remember me? It's been a while. I received a text today from @socalnatv telling me to plug in my wheel and join back in the fun. If you guys would allow me, I'd like to join in some practice sessions with you and go from there. I haven't plugged my rig in for a pretty long time and need to run with some of you to get, what ever I had, back. After I get the feel back, I'd like to maybe race part time. What say you?

As for GT Sport, I preordered it and I'm just being lazy but what is Snails plans. Hint : send me a link, if there is one:)
