Im starting straight away :)

Awesome, great to see it starting, I'll start tomorrow.

Amuse FTW!!

Amuse on Costa D'Amfili?
No chance

V/H GT: ass-happy 2002 is ROUGH, might have to put a wing on it.
GT3: that MG is a fun little car!
GT2: RUF is RUF w/o a wing
GT1: Might be in for a car-change
SuperGT: Supra? Amafli? I'm w/ Morley, not a chance.

Well, it's possible to get a clean lap in the Amuse! Just at an average speed of 70mph roughly... I expect to get trounced here. :grumpy:

Tell you what, it's a track you learn to handle your car.
and w/o TCS, i'm spinning my supra tires all the way through 3rd, with RSS!!

Are you surprised?

That Supra has a hell loads of torque with such power

But hey, good warm-up :trouble:

This no set-up rule ruins me.

I hit my top speed limiter pretty much from the S/F line to the first corner, and 4 other places on the track....

Nothing about no-setups

I think he means that you can only adjust settings between rounds. Kind of an odd rule if you ask me. I'm interested in racing though, so I'll be checking out your main thread (I assume there is one).

Exactly what I meant 👍

Being able to set-up your car every secoind of a round is boring, we need some good competition so if you get the chance to set-up your car for the next round 👍

This during the round before that next round, so what I'm saying is that you guys can only set-up your car for the first round now and in the time between the first round is NOT posted up ;)

If not that interesting, I might change that rule, tell me your opinions!

Like I just said in my entry PM, I think just being able to adjust settings ONCE at the beginning of the round would be nice. Personally, I don't mess with settings much at all. I usually run a few laps to get an idea of what needs done and do my best to adjust it. I'm not a good tuner, so I adjust a few simple things and I'm usually satisfied.

So...That means that I can't adjust any settings for the warmup considering I just joined, right?

...

Let's start from the beginning,

I'll change the rule to this:

If the driver is statisfied with his times in all classes AND has send them to me, then you can start setting up your car for the next round 👍

Hope this clear things up,

A bit over-complex for my liking. Sorry but I'm still a tad confused.

So I'm not allowed to change the set-up on my car, right now, I have to submit my limiter hitting time, then I am able to set-up my car for the first round? (El Captain)

Since it's the warm-up. I think we should be able to change set-ups as much as we like.

I agree with Casio. Considering this doesn't count for points, we should be able to tinker with settings as much as we want this time.

Maybe you could have two "deadlines". One in the middle of the week, where you can submit the best time you have gotten already (if you have one that is) and then you are allowed to mess with settings again for the time you turn in at the normal deadline. The first time would be set with the current settings rule in place. I don't know if it would work or not, but maybe the person with the fastest first time could get a bit of a bonus. I would say bonus points, but we aren't using points...Any thoughts?

additional performance upgrades should be illegal during the current round, but changing the settings on cars is what is done at roadcrosses, SOLO events, and races all over, it's a part of the event, to get the most out of your car. If you want to spend more time tinkering w/ the gear ratios and less time on-track, that's your choice.

I will admit that i adjust suspension settings mid-round, it's logical. Changing PARTS on a car, unless previously bought (aka hauling around in your trailer) should be reserved for between rounds, but adjustments are a part of racing, let's keep them in it OK?

Got my time in. Did away with the R390. Went with something a little more tame...

Audi did it. Now I'll do it. I'm driving the 120d in the GT3 class.

So far, these drivers have submitted their times:

George Morley, Casio, Ebiggs.

:indiff:

Thanks for the shots Casio, now you guys can look even more forward to the race report ;)

Come on submit your times people!
It the deadline time today :nervous:

I think no more will join up, results coming up within...err...some hours 💡

So how did everybody's cars (dis)like Amalfi?

My Classic entry, the 280Z, felt perfect here. A bit of oversteer here and there but only on throttle and very easy to correct. It also felt a litle short on power on the steep uphill.

My GT3 Motorsport Elise was also a pretty straightforward drive. It will only oversteer if provoked, but you have to remember to brake much earlier than the 280Z because of the huge difference in speed. The Elise is around 400Kg lighter with only 20 less horsepower.

The M3 CSL (GT2) is probably my favorite of the bunch. Very neutral handling with plenty of oversteer available with a prod of the right foot. The S3s shortened braking distances to be even less than the Elise's.

What better car for a GT1 class than a Corvette? :) Surprisingly with 600hp and a supercharger it gets zero wheelspin besides the final tight hairpins. Easiest car to drive by far thanks to the racing tires.

And finally the car everyone is going to be chasing. The R390 GT1 is the fastest road car in the game when fully tuned thanks to being a homologation model for the racing version. Nearly 900 horsepower, 1000kg, R5 tires and a ton of downforce makes this car extremely fast, but also very hard to drive, at least on Amalfi. I had to break hard at every jump to keep it stable. There is no torque below 3500rpm, so the final hairpins are crawled through in third gear. Second would be the same result, but then the revs jump to the rev limiter once the turbo kicks in. This time wasn't a good representation of this car's speed, and it may have trouble at El Capitan too.

My GT3 Supra felt way better then its 904 HP big bro...

But Ebiggs, don't think you did a universe of time faster in the R390 GT1 :trouble: 👍

Oh, just wait until we get to a smoother circuit. It'll probably be close again at El Capitan, but I think you may win there if the Supra is stable like I'd be willing to bet.

My TVR 350C was great, but probaly beaten by the 200 BMW M3 drivers :(
