This might just be me behind my very anal firewall, but the site is taking a long time to start loading, then everything shows up really quick, then it takes a long time to finish. When it's done, the status bar has the "Done, but with errors on the page." exclamation mark. One of the things it's waiting on is the image map for the links in the yellow bar (My GTPlanet - Register - Search - ...) because they're not available until the page stops loading (either complete or incomplete). I guess that's all part of a javascript that isn't loading all the way?

Well i get the same thing some times. It does not happen all the time. I dont know what that could be. But like i said it does not happen all the time.

I was on GTPlanet early this morning like at 4-6. It was going very slow. I am on a 56k connecting at 32 Kbps and the site has never gone so slow. I was wondering why. I asked Josh if he was getting the same problem and he said he was. I hope it speeds up soon. :(

I haven't been having any problems like that. Everything is going fast for me (4+ MB/sec connection with the server on my cable modem).

Javascript errors? Hmmm...the image map isn't anything fancy. The only difference is that I put the map URL's and dimensions in the footer of the page to decrease the size of the header. The only thing I can think of that would be causing these problems is the new statistics counter that I added a few days ago (the small blue box). It does include javascript, and it is remotely hosted (which means there server could be overloaded, causing a delay)...

Ah yes, the little image does load slowly at times. I assume they're busy.

Thanks (:

Well, I just removed the counter as a little test...what is happening now?

Something is going wrong with the server, though. The load average is between 2.00-5.00! :nervous:

Yikes! Well it had gotten a bit faster just before you removed it. Now it's back to "blazing fast" just like we like it (:

About the load ... do you have a shell window open? You can run "top" and it will show you what applications are using how much percentage of the processor. "Q" to quit.

Blazing fast, eh? That's good, although I guess this means I shouldn't use that good stat service...

I took a look at top, although no programs appear to be doing anything out of the ordinary. Apache and MySQL are the overwhelming majority. It's already using swap memory...

And you have what ... half a gig? How long has it been up ("uptime" in the console)? If it's growing in memory then there is probably a memory leak in vBulletin. Linux, Apache, and MySQL are damn near flawless.

I did notice a short time (about an hour ago) that the forums were not accessable....

Wow, that's weird. Did you reboot it or did it die?

I rebooted.

Jordan, I like the post per day add on! Very spiffy!

I was like, "what's he talking about now?"

Very cool, gives me a quick referance to how quickly I'm gaining (or not gaining) on a Top 20 spot (:
