Hey everyone-- couldn't find a thread that had a CONCISE list of the new update features without digressing into a mess of people either complaining or applauding the update. Started new thread just to point out:

the tire wear indicator has been revamped a bit. Each tire now has a 'life gauge' of sorts, and the color of the tire depletes as it wears down. This is measuring the life of the tire, not just the temperature, as the old indicator had (the new one still does this as well)

I think this is awesome, and actually mentioned it on my "wish list" rant in the "things you'd like to see in GT5 updates" thread

That was there all along dude. It is just that there is no tire wear until you get to the endurance races in A-Spec or the Extreme races in B-Spec but it was there from the begining or at least as far back as 1.01.

I'm pretty sure it has always been like that. I recall 2 days ago completing the Extreme Series in B-Spec where you can only use European cars (lvl 22). B Spec Bob had a pair of Sports Soft on the the Merc C63. On the second to last lap I noticed the rear tires were gray and instead of a healthy full [||] they were more like [-]. Looked almost like a half full/half empty rectangle.

I'm at A-spec 25 and B-spec 20, and while the tire color gauge has always been there, today is the first time that I've seen the "life gauge" effect. Maybe I just drive that much better on my tires ;)

...not likely. I haven't done an endurance event yet, maybe that's the issue. But the race I did today also wasn't an endurance event, and alas, tire depletion

As I said tire wear has been on all along but only in A-Spec endurance races and B-Spec Extreme or higher. You have not seen it before but it was always there. It has also been in online races since day 1.

Possibly they added it to other races? I have not ran any A-Spec Extreme since the patch.

Once you hit level 25 A-spec OR B-spec, tire wear kicks in.

Tire wear has always been on at level 21 or higher B-Spec races and level 25 or higher A-Spec races. Had nothing to do with your level other than the fact that you could not enter those events until then.

I never paid attention on A-spec, but on B-spec, if you're in a race where there is no command for "pit", then there is no tire wear and Bob can powerslide around corners all he wants without wearing down the tires....although he will heat em up. If there is a "pit" command, then the tires wear down.

Think that was around level 20 or 21 when you hit Extreme races as others have already said. On A-spec, I think even on Extreme races, you were still only doing a few laps and tire wear still wasn't an issue so you probably didn't notice. On B-spec on those same races, Bob would be doing far higher laps and tire wear can be an issue depending on the track .....and you will notice.

So do we have a full list of changes made anywhere? I've heard about the limited time 20% increased reward amounts, and there's the obvious additions such as "seasonal events" which include GT Academy and "Online dealership" but I'm wondering about what is more subtle...

The tire life gauge been there before the update, mate.
Evidence: I got bored of driving perfectly on a practice race on practice mode, so I played around with the cars. When I held down the E-Brake button, after the car spun out the rear tire's bars went down from full [||] to 3/4's.
