1.07 patch interrupting my LeMans Endurance

I'm 13:31:xx:xxx into the A-spec Le Mans. It's Sunday and I started the race before the release of the 1.07 patch. Previously I noticed the patch rearing its head whenever I paused the game, but it was simply a case of pressing circle and getting on with the race. Now, the patch just interrupts the game (almost catastrophically) so I get an instant black update screen and have to press the circle to escape it. If I had the X button configured for gear changes this would undoubtably cause me to go into the update, cancelling my race. Luckily I'm using triangle/square for gears and L2/R2 for brake/gas.
I'm going to get seriously p'd off if this makes me cancel the race! 11 hours to go and it seems to be getting more aggresive in its requests for me to update.

Just unplug your internet connection?
 
Genius...thanks, but I'm on WiFi...so maybe not. I could always go into my router and disconnect it there I guess.
 
Just set up an access list and don't allow your PS3 :)

It is quite simple to do ... Can you not sign out of Playstation Network from being in-game?
 
Here you go ... Press the PS button ... Go to Account Management ... Press triangle ... Choose to sign out ... That will hopefully block the update from coming up.
 
Good luck with this. The 1.07 patch interupted my Le Sarthe 24hr endurance race, despite me not being signed into the PSN network. 16 1/2 hours down the drain. :indiff:

Hoepfully you won't experience the anger that I did!
 
The annoying thing is that we didn't know the coming of 1.07. It says on the notice it was a "network maintainence".
 
2 hours and 38 minutes into 9h endurance Tsukuba! It had poped up some times, but every time, I just pressed "circle" to cancle. Then this last time, I was about to accelerate "cross", its pop up, milliseconds before, and woops PD, 2h38m down my drain.'

I installed the damn thing, and then went to "Network Settings" in the XMB, an disabled til Internet. Nothing is gooing tu disturb me further.
