Messing around figure I would post up these 2 videos to share. first one is just the camera on the wheel, can't see the screen too well, and the 2nd is a replay from Eiger reverse. Nothing too crazy just some good fun. :)👍

changed video, you can now see the road, had to turn it from "Dynamic" to standard and set the contrast way down.

2nd was from last night messing around, really about 1.08 on the 4th section is why i saved the replay.

hope i didn't just waste a little over 3 minutes of your life. :D

not too bad, you dont suck, but i kind of got tired of normal tires a little while ago, im pretty sure you use them since you go soo slow and your wheels dont have any grip... anyways man i suggest you put your force feedback a little harder it seems like your wheel isnt moving fast enough, you should be able just to let it go and catch it in middle drift, and you need to feel the front wheels if they are aligned with the road and all. Anyways man your on your way, keep practicing.

thanks for the input. I'm not worried about speed, currently just working on smoothe clean drifts and connecting sections. I tried using sports tires the other day on Suzuka east and no doubt it's faster speeds, but to me it's harder to get a lot of angle and wasn't as much fun. As for you mentioning the wheel not spinning back fast, it usually whips pretty quick on switch-backs, sometimes i hit the brake to slow the weight transfer back so it doesn't spin as quickly.

my g25 settings are FFB 5, power-steering On, simulation and professional physics. It feels pretty close to how my 240sx which now has power-steering does so i really like the wheel feel. Without the power-assist on, it fealt like my 240sx a year ago before i put the power-steering system on and i was drifting in the rain. So the wheel feel is the same as my actual car, but i just don't feel the weight transfer with my body, which was the hardest to get used to. So i judge by the road, and i can tell now by the resistance/feel of the wheel. :)👍

I want my 3 minutes back... haha just kidding man nice video. when u said that ur not woried about speed just working on smoothe clean drifts and connecting sections im sure u would agree with me that the n1's are alittle to slow, yes there very easy to controll the slide but try moving up to n2 or n3 u will get more of a feel of the car and will be alot better for u in the long run. As it will feel more like your 240 in the dry contitions and not like driving it in the rain..

Nice video tho seems like u have a good grasp of wheel controll. I just wish we could see what was going on in the first video out the front window its really white looking.

Thumbs up keep on rockin

Thanks man :)👍. I'm using N3's in all the video's i've shown. Definately on the more powerfull cars the N3's feel closest in steering feel to my 240sx with power-steering on dry ground. I have more control/range on N3's i can swing out or pull into the apex with n3's. On the tunned Cappuccino i use n2's since it's got a lot less power. I can't wait till private rooms to drift with people!!! :dopey:

with the power assisted turned off you will be able to let the wheel spin for you and catch it, just look at this guy who mastered it in case you never saw him, i understand you get the same feel as your old car but its time to move on, the best feeling is when you get the power assisted off im just saying that to help you, you should also gradually put your force feedback higher each time you feel like your arms are strong :P then when you really are trying to perform at your best (impress someone or whatever just turn the force feedback back down and it will be soo easy for you)

look how he lets the wheel and the force feedback do the work for him

i actually stumbled upon that video a little earlier browsing gt5p drift video's. he's definatley awesome and has great control. But i think you may be confusing my personal style and way of handling the wheel. Because with my current settings my wheel does whip/spin back and forth with the weight transfer of the car just as the video you posted. Difference is my hands are all over the place, and i flick the wheel in each direction just out of comfort and the way i'm comfortable drifting. sometimes i actuall let it slide in my hands and apply slight pressure to slow the speed of the rotation of the wheel which is also why it looks slower. :)👍 Tomorrow i'll give it a try with power-assist off see how it goes.

er... If you go over to his YouTube website (gtartisan33), you'll noticed he modified his G25 big time... the motor's been modified to spin faster than normal and a few more crazy mods (like a fan to cool the supped up motor!!!)!!

Cheers!

hell ya it looks to me like he replaced the gear on the motor http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/sky_pilot33 u can see from there he did something with the gear i would love to find out whats going on with that wheel

Honestly... Who uses the driving line option to drift??

Never used it unless it was a mandatory license training exercise :dopey:

Anyway, sweet vids

very relaxed. Wish I had a G25....

i thought his wheel looked a little funny (housing for motors). As for the driving line, pay no attention to it, whey my brother goes at it, he uses it since he doesn't have as much wheel time or familiar with the tracks. I don't even notice it. :yuck:

[edit]-I gave a go last nite with the power-assist turned off and in MY opinion, didn't like it one bit. I have no doubt if you can drift with it turned off you can DESTROY drifting with it turned on, but i didn't enjoy it. In a real drift car you don't fight the wheel, you have enought to worry about working the wheel, pedals and shifter.

BUT if you could MASTER your lines, and throttle control, it would be very easy to drift with it off. When you keep the rite line and the correct momentum, the weight transfers do all the work for you, just need to adjust throttle/braking to keep it going. What i noticed is how I drift, making corrections is a LOT harder with the power-assist off.

yea that gtartisan guy is really good , he also drift in RL with his chaser!
I'd really like to know what he did to his g25 too

I posted a link to his site google it and it will translate it for you. There are tons of pictures there also. He added a switch on the shifter for a working ebrake. Next he ground down some plastic inside where the motors go. Then he added larger gears on the motor shaft. That will make the wheel spin faster as you can see from the videos on his youtube.

thats so stu...perb!! :dopey:

isnt power assisted steering where the wheel "relaxes" when you make a sudden turn?
does it have anything to do with the wheel spinning back?

sweet videos man,
you're doing much better than me :guilty:
pretty cool how you have something to compare to in real life :P

power-assit makes it much easier to turn-in and counter-steer. Without it you really have to put some force into turning the wheel because you're fighting the weight shifting of the car. Since my last post i actually turned it off for a while to try it. Definately more difficult to drift, but when you get good lines and throttle/brake control it's not that bad. Just makes it difficult to correct WHILE you are drifting. In my first vid, you can see how easy i am able to turn into the direction of the drift to correct/improve angle when needed. Without power-assist on you need to put a LOT more force into it.

Unfortunately my wheel started making a clicking sound so i'm in the process of trying to get it replaced through Logitech :nervous::grumpy:. So i will be away from GT5P, and my new found fun, Live for speed for a while....
