Ok here it is at long last a bit delayed, but finally up, anyway my presentation method I tried to do, ran into a wall for the mean time.
Moglet's Interview
TVR&FF: "We start of this first edition of interview a Photomode gallery owner, by interviewing Moglet, who has been around for a while on the Photomode scene. Anyway please tell us a little bit about yourself Moglet, like Age and so on if you want?"
Moglet: "Hello! Well, my real name is Lloyd Morgan, i'm 21 years old and i'm currently living in Somerset in the UK studying a degree in Graphic Design."
TVR&FF: "So it seems Morgan falls into the Moglet name really well, also Graphic Design that does come in handy."
Moglet: "Yup, Morgan formed the name Moglet waaay back when i was about 15/16! My course does come in handy too, because it means i'm constantly using Photoshop and taking photos for real. It all helps me with my GT4 photos."
TVR&FF: "Anyway lets roll on the first question, this question comes in from Franz:"
I see you very good in Photoshop right from your start in GTP, so what makes you into photoshop and how long have you been learning?
Moglet: "Ooh, kinda answered that a bit early by accident there....um. Well, Ive been using Photoshop for about 3-4 years now, but before that I did a lot of editing using Ulead PhotoImpact 7. That taught me the basics of working in image editing software. I've always been interested in working with images though, it's just appealed to me naturally, which is also why I'm quite into actual photography."
TVR&FF: "Woops that must have slipped past of my radar Moglet, talk about when Chat show goes wrong." *Laughs*
"Anyway now for the 2nd question, which comes in from Loon:"
How many GTP photomode comptitions have you won in total?
Moglet: "Err...."
TVR&FF: "Seems we have a problem here."
Moglet: "I was worried this would come up!"
Moglet then says: "A couple "
TVR&FF: "Sounds more like a lot."
*Moglet laughs*
Moglet: "I honestly have no idea."
TVR&FF: "Loon must be thinking, I need the truth"
Moglet: "I'll get back to him on that."
TVR&FF: "I am sure you will, anyway this question comes in from sar593:"
Do you try to express something in your photos?
Moglet: "Sometimes I do, but not always. A lot of the time I take photos that are just designed to look good and provide some eye candy. But every now and then I like to give a photo a certain, feel and look and they often reflect my mood. The 'soft focus' collection was all taken and edited when I was feeling nice and calm after completing an assignment."
Moglet then says: "If Im angry I produce dark photos. You'll see more of those over the next few months."
TVR&FF: "This question from jgda9rs may take a while to reply too, anyway here is that question:"
What inspires you the most, and out of all of your shots, which one do you think is the best and why?
Moglet: "Inspiration is, an easy one, it's usually either music or seeing something related to cars on TV. When i watched a Top Gear review of the Dodge Charger they filmed it with an overexposed, old fashioned look out in the desert. It was around this time that the Vintage themed 2.0 contest was started and I entered the Charger photo that you seen in my avatar today, inspired by the camerawork of Top Gear.
Out of all of my shots my favourite is very hard to pick. However, it's either the Charger shot mentioned above or the winter Crossfire soft focus photo. Simply because I love the way they look compared to most photomode shots.
Because they're both very in your face, yet the Crossfire one was nice and calm at the same time."
TVR&FF: "This question comes from a drifting person, by the name of Drift2XS. And here is the question:"
What do you think makes a great picture and why?
Moglet: "I always enjoy seeing something that has never been tried before. It's all very well taking photos with great reflections and then blurring the background, but I much prefer seeing a well put together photo that shows something I don't usually see. Colour Balance can also make a huge difference, because the colours that come out of GT4 are horrendous, I barely ever keep them as they were in game unless I have to because of the rules of a contest.
Saying that, I do, like shots, with blurred backgrounds and such."
TVR&FF: "The next question comes in from speedster502:"
What is your favourite car to photograph and why?
Moglet: "The Impreza Rally car
I never realised how good it looks in photos until I took my entry for the latest 2.0 contest. It looks right at home within a load of dust with saturated colours. It's also a very nice looking car and either if you're shooting from the front or back it looks great. Just like the road going version."
TVR&FF: "This question is from Ultrashot:"
Have you been photographing for your whole life or did GT4 inspire you in any way?
Moglet: "I've been photographing with real cameras for about 4 years overall now. When I heard that GT4 had a photography mode I could barely hide my excitement! GT4 has since inspired me to take photos of actual cars though."
TVR&FF: "Talking about actual cars you must have taken some real life Super Cars before GT4 came out."
Moglet: "I've never managed to photograph an actual Super Car in my life. I forgot to take my camera to the Motor Show when I went and every since then I haven't had much of a chance to see them to photograph. The only one I did see was a Ferrari 355 Spyder in the car park at the kit car show and I only got snapshots of it."
TVR&FF: "Now lets roll onto the last main question, before the bonus round, and remember this is not a game show."
*Moglet goes aaaw*
TVR&FF: "So if you thought you won some prize, well you have not, because I am being cheap lol."
Moglet: "No deal"
TVR&FF: "Put that tongue away anyway lets move onto the last question from FaLLeNAn9el:"
Where do you draw your inspiration from, is it based on real life techniques, your own personal style, or a combination of different styles and techniques?
Moglet: "It's based almost entirely on my own style really. I don't have any photography heroes as such, except for VuDa. When I started taking photos in GT4 I was posting them on the official PlayStation forums. VuDa was posting his there and they just blew me away so he became my inspiration to get to where I am today really. I believe he used to hang around at GTPlanet for a while too.
But I draw inspiration from other people's galleries too though."
Bonus question time
*Moglet goes oooh*
TVR&FF: Mac or PC?
Moglet: "Mac" *Moglet also confirms he has an iBook G4.*
TVR&FF: "Any reason?"
TVR&FF then says: "Let me guess you hate Windows being opened."
Moglet: "Yup!
I use to hate Macs, then I bought one, but I am not going back again if I can help it."
TVR&FF: "I don't know how people who really hate Macs will take this, but they will have to take it, because life is never fair. Anyway the 2nd Bonus question:"
What Photo Editing program do you use mainly or do you not use one?
Moglet: "Adobe Photoshop CS
No question about it, nothing goes as deep or works as well as Photoshop does."
TVR&FF: Whats youre Favourite type of engine?
Moglet: "I don't really know much about types of engines because I've never driven anything except for a Metro or a Focus. However, I do have a soft spot for the burble of an Impreza."
TVR&FF: "Now here comes the question, which people may have been thinking."
Whats youre Favourite 10 Photomode people?
But I know its harsh, but people want to know the truth.
Moglet: "In no order:
Ultrashot
Franz
440 Charger
alexwrc
Cod_Father
atlop
Danger_Orange
TVR&FF
LGForce aaaaaand
VuDa"
TVR&FF: "I'm happy" *Does a little jig*
*Moglet goes hehe, but then says, "I think there's someone obvious I missed.... oh well."*
TVR&FF: "Now comes, another car question, Favourite 5 all time Car models?
5 Dodge Charger
4 BMW M5
3 Aston Martin DB9
2 Aston Martin V8 Vantage
1 Pagani Zonda
TVR&FF: When GT5 comes out, what will you are mainly working on for the first year out of these 2 games GT4 or GT5?
Moglet: "GT4 because I won't have a PS3."
TVR&FF: "Sorry to hear that, but I bet your looking forward to GT5 galleries."
Moglet: "I am indeed, but I can't stop looking at videos of PS3 racing games."
TVR&FF: "2 more bonus questions remaining."
Who out of these 2 people would you like to do a Photomode gallery Ken Kutaragi or Kazunori Yamauchi?
Moglet: Kazunori definitely
Seeing him in the making of GT he's very passionate about his cars. I'd enjoy seeing what he could do with his own game!
TVR&FF: "I bet he knows a code to make his shots look better unedited then edited shots. But someone must find that code if possible."
Moglet: "I think Ultrashot already has."
TVR&FF: "He does not work for PD and he edits his shots."
Moglet: "I know"
TVR&FF: "Anyway time for the last question, which could be one of the main bonus questions."
If you could improve GT4 Photomode, what would you do in the Photomode, and how do you hope GT5 will take Photomode to the next stage?
Moglet: "I'd make it more realistic for a start, and I don't mean graphics wise. There should be a 'pro' mode where adjusting the aperture of an image will mean you need to adjust the shutter speed accordingly. Exposure times in GT4 don't affect the image how they would in real life and sometimes this can be a right pain. I would also include the option to take photos from cameras fixed to the car so that background blur from various angles would not be a problem. I'd also like to see a fully adjustable camera within Photo drive replays so you can position the camera exactly where you want it.
But if that is what GT5 is like Ill be very happy."
TVR&FF: "Ok thanks for the interview Moglet, but before we finish this up, if you had some wise words to say to people how they can improve there shots, what would they be in 5 words."
Moglet: "Take your time. Then edit."
TVR&FF: "Thank you very much Moglet."
