well this is the second day of playing NFS:SHIFT and here are my first impressions of this game compared to GT5P.

Note, I am using G25 wheel, and a proper cockpit set up.
and the settings on SHIFT are Professional, with all assists turned OFF.
and GT5P on professional with all assists turned off.

1. I had great expectations of this game in terms of being a realistic simulator. it has been widely publicised as being developed by the people behind GTR2, and was supposed to have physics handling that was more accurate than GTR2.
after playing this game for 2 days, i really am not sure if its all that realistic. I mean i probably will never know for sure as i have never driven a race car on a track, but the handling physics of the cars are so different from that of GT5P.
eg. compare the bmw 135i, which is available on both games, the handling is completely different. on Shift, the steering wheel feels very light at the centre and then heavy when its turned to about 60 or 90 degrees. GT5P on the other hand is evenly weighted no matter what the position of the wheel. the feed back feels more communicative and hence feeling for how much turning circle to use is better.

on shift you just keep fishtailing all the time, its an abrupt snap of the back end of the car even when you are turning the wheel smoothly and slowly. .

2. does anyone know what settings in the game wheel control and options i should use in order to make the control/handling physics as close to GT5P proffesional setting as possible?

3. apart from the handling of the cars being disappointing so far, the rest of the game seems fantastic. i have still yet to explore the online functions but its all looking and sounding good so far.

4. although one disappointment with the sound is the rumble strip. it just doesnt make that sound as good as in GT5P.

5. ...will add more as i explore more into the game

10 reasons why Shift is better than Prologue? Yet none of your 4 "reasons" explain why Shift is better than GT5.

Some reasons why this thread is locked:

1. It's in the wrong forum. This is for GT5P discussion, not asking for controller settings in NFSS.
2. You're comparing a brand new full release to a two year old half-game.
3. Seriously. "10" reasons? "1" would have been optimistic for your post.
4. We don't really need yet another fanboy of this game vs. fanboy of a different game thread.
5. Yeah. Those four.
