sounds fun. I'll try some in a little bit
*EDIT* Alright, back with some results, I tested out a few of my favorites, and heres what I got.
First i naturally went for the Viper, which left me little mod money, but i did the best I could with what I had, and I ended up with 506HP @ 5100rpm, 73.5 ft.lb @ 4100rpm, a weight of 1423kg for a p/w ratio of 2.812. On sport tires I managed:
0-60: 3.7secs (approx.)
400m: 11.853 @ 121mph
Top speed: 191.8 on the normal transmission
Then I went and bought me an R34 VspecII skyline, bought some crap, and ended up with 457hp @ 7500rpm, 60.2 ft.lb @ 4500rpm, and 1450kg for a p/w of 3.172. On medium slick tires I managed:
0-60: 3.2secs (approx.)
400m: 11.674 @ 116mph
top speed: 178.6 on normal trans, blah.
4wd definently had the advantage here as the 0-60 and 400m times show, but the lower HP ultimately leads to its lack of top speed. Still great for a sprint car tho
Next I hopped in my favorite, the RX7 RZ. Used my funds the best I could, and ended up with 449hp @ 6500rpm, 50.3 ft.lb @ 6000rpm (boooo!!) and a weight of 1181kg for a p/w ratio of 2.630. On medium slick tires I achieved
0-60: 3.8 secs (approx.)
400m: 11.943 @ 122mph meh...
top speed: 200.1 mph on full race trans.
Here the RX7 shows its true potential. top end. especially w/ the adjustibility of the race trans. BUT, as is common for the poor rotary engine, the lack of torque just cant propel the car thru the 400 as fast as the others, even w/ the lighter weight, tho it does its best to try and keep up.
Finally for the fun of it I chose an unlikely candidate, and was quite surprised w/ the results. I picked out a nice 3000gt VR4. After all was said and done I sit at 498hp @ 6000rpm, 71.5 ft.lb @ 4000 rpm, and a weight of 1495kg for a p/w ratio of 3.002. On medium slick tires it managed:
0-60: 3.1 secs (approx.)
400m: 11.588 @ 120mph 👍
top speed: 194.6 mph on normal trans
Very surprising results, but again, 4wd has a distinct advantage here. The twin turbos do a nice job of revving the engine up quickly, yet still give it plenty of top end where you need it. The normal trans is geared pretty well right off the bat. Even when i shifted into 6th gear mid way around the turn it still pulled until i was out of the curve.
So theres my results so far, as for the mods performed to the cars
The viper was fitted w/ semi race suspension; NA stage 1; sport tires; weight stage 1
The skyline has semi race suspension; twin plate clutch; semi race flywheel; Stage 2 turbo; medium slick tires; weight stage 1
The RX7's fitted with semi race suspension; racing muffler; racing chip; twin plate clutch; racing flywheel; racing trans; stage 2 turbo; medium slick tires; weight stage 1
And finally the VR4 has semi race suspension; racing muffler; twin plate clutch; racing flywheel; stage 2 turbo; racing intercooler; medium slick tires; weight stage 2
Thats all for now. I'll test some other ones tomorrow
