Race Specifics:

  • You have your choice of cars this week. Feel free to test, switch back and forth, whatever you'd like to do. But your choice of cars MUST be kept secret.
  • The green painted concrete next of the rumbles is not part of the track
  • G25 Clutch is prohibited
  • Use your GTP_Tag

Steward's Comments:
Not a new idea this week, but something fun for sure. Sjaak used something very similar to this in one of my first WRS races, in GT4 WRS Week 119. The 2 cars definitely have different characteristics, so choose the one that suits your driving style and go for your best lap!!

Viewing your T1 & T2 Lap Time Splits:

You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'.
To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Page' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay' option.

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 58 Submission ) to (Vaxen):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    [Division#]---M'SS.XXX---GTP_Tag---Car Used
    (Example-) [division 2]---1'44.678---GTP_EDK---Viper
  • You can submit only once
  • Please include in your submission PM your division, GTP_Tag and final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday December 14th 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

Great combo Kevin! Visit number 11 to wonderful Suzuka if my little list is correct. This is going to be a fun week 👍

Cool looks fun this week. Just what I needed. I'll keep the secret of what car I'm using, but I will tell you it has 4 wheels :D

So far, I picked a Yellow car :D

52.997
1'36.987

As always, early days, still getting use to all that grip. 👍

I'm not competing but I'm going to have a go and see what times I can get, it looks fun.

T1: 55.057
t2: 1'40.094

Welcome!

Please don't double post. Use the edit function if you are posting in the thread and your prior post is the most recent.

I've taken the liberty of merging your posts.

Secrets be damned; I'm using a much different car than you, mine is the car that swills gasoline. :sly:

Seriously, should the text in OP indicate that the Fanatec clutch is prohibited as well as the G25 clutch or am I missing something?

Well, I'd hate to think that someone would read that, and believe use of the Fanatec clutch is OK. It's the verbiage we've been using since the start of GTP_WRS. Of course, there are other, high end wheels that have a clutch as well. I hope that we don't have to come up with a list all of them. And, at the same time, I think specifying G25 helps everyone understand what we are talking about.

I am stupid, explain to me, why is the clutch prohibited ?

Hi stupid, I'm Kevin. :sly:

The clutch offers an unfair advantage to those who use it, because it reduces the amount of time it takes for the next gear to engage when upshifting. It might not seem like much, but can add up to several tenths in a 2 minute lap.

Kevin, a quick question. When we pick a car do we have to stick with it or can we submit any lap which is faster out of the two cars?

How would I know which car you'd picked? :P

You can change back and forth as the week goes on, just submit your fastest, clean lap, in either car. 👍

Indeed, and some people (like broke college kids like me XD) can't afford a G25/G27 x_X (damn I wish I could though)

Bit different to the 135 on N1's

First laps - still loads of room for improvement!

Looks interesting, 2 awesome machines, it will be difficult to choose. I'll give it a try tomorrow, because tonight I'm playing MW2. :D
I'll probably choose the one that is RWD. :sly:

This really looks fun I hope I can get some time to put aside for this event. Love a bit of power and grip.

Good one Kevin 👍

This is a great combo 👍

First splits this week,

T1 53.713
T2 1'38.333

Lots of mistakes in that lap, so hopefully lots of improvements to be made.

Due to having to go away for work for a week, I have submitted with a feeble time.
I would enjoy chasing the second or so that I reckon I could get, with a bit more tuning and time.

54.012
1'38.686

Good Luck everyone 👍

Due to having to go away for work for a week

Same with me (except mine is vacation away time), I might get a session or 2 in over the next few days but will be gone after that. I'm very keen to see which car wins out here - the Viper looks a little better on paper but we all know about Kaz's love of the Vette now so I can't help but wonder about the accuracy of the physics for it.

Will also be interesting to see how the times line-up with WRS 44 when we ran the Z06/Tuned at Suz 800PP. 👍 Need some Viper lover's to show up and give Carl a challenge this week I suspect. :)

Good luck everyone!

Tried the two cars and I came up with those splits. I love both of them they are so nice to drive.

T1: 0'54.545
T2: 1'38.915

A lot of improvements possible, I just had a short run to compare the Viper to the Vette.

First splits for this week.

T1: 0.53.182
T2: 1.36.976

Feels much better than 800pp.

Matt

First Splits:

T1: 52.919
T2: 1'36.887

Hopefully more left to come off

EDIT:

Just had another quick run:

T1: 52.802
T2: 1'36.601
