Hey good luck with your league.

although its a no go for European guys, because its way to late for us.

My race modded '69 Camaro is my favourite drive at the moment. I'm in the UK.

I have been noticing and got a lot of in game feedback that this series seems to be much more popular with UK/EU Players. I think I might move this series to a uk/eu time slot.

Suggestion on what would be a good time for EU/UK player would help. Thanks.

Crap. I'd love to do this but my 69 had been done to the tit(stage 3 engine) for the Historic cup....

Just build another one :) I am trying to get a DEMO car shared so people can try the spec out.

Congratulations for the excellent and complete organization.

Everything perfect except:
I dont see any suspension modification (at least the first stage will be realistic)
Racing hard Tires: In that era, best tires were like the sport soft, not even the too sticky racing tires we have in the game.

Anyway, I'll give a try:

GTP_NURBURGRING

no 64

Wheels and color to be determined.

He did say its Racing Modification, which by default the car will have race suspension, full lightweight mod, racing tranny and aero applied to it...

I might have to delay the race for about a week and to a more UK/EU friendly time. Got some in game feedback about how some people that are interested might not have the car ready. My oversight is I forgot to factor in the 200k required for the RM.

Please check back for updates. worst comes to worst, I will host a track day or some short race this week for some practice.

For those who are interested. I am also hosting a MX5 Cup series using the '07 (NC) roadster in a similar format, very cheap up start cost. See my sig for detail.

cheers!

Date and Time updated.

The race is now pushed back a week to 12/18/10 and time has been revised to be EU friendly.

Enjoy.

i would like to partake in this event. i do not have the s license as yet (as that part of the game i find too repetitive and boring)but if i had to i suppose i could have it by the time this event kicks off.i own the vehicle but is still stock .(with rm)

psn id .. fingersandthumbs
car number . ? not sure
wheel .. dfgt

i am i correct in thinking its about 7pm gmt

cheers

I also have the problem whereby my Camaro has the stage 3 engine tune... and I'm not sure about spending another 400,000 - 500,000 credits to build another one (I'm a little hard up).

Another problem is I have not yet obtained my S license (haven't done any of the licenses yet). If it means anything, I'm on the GTP registry as GTP_Gadbury.

Thanks for changing the time. I don't get home from work until 18:30 GMT although ironically it's my last day at work (was made redundant) on the 17th Dec.

Is it possible to share the demo car or set up a server with you garaged Camaro as the only car selectable so that everyone can use the same car...?

I might have to give the race series a miss, although if there are any unofficial practice sessions for fun, I'd like to come along.

I'll see if I can muster enough cred to build a 2nd car....I really would like to try this...

Unrelated issue, about online in general. I don't really play PS3 online much. I have no headsets or mic or anything. Is that needed?

Ok, sorry about the "S license" confusion. My intent is use that as a indicator that whoever is joining by that level should know their way enough around the game and all its features; It was NEVER there to set a "bar" for entry.

I will revise it to convey my intention in a different way. Thanks for the feedback.

There is an official practice the day before, for test and tune and what not, we can share set up and do some short races just for fun. make sure you add me so you can have access to the DEMO car if you wanna try it out.

I should have a DEMO car up in my lounge. The key here is to make sure you add me to you friends list.

Yeah, thanks for setting this up. I'll see if I can make the practice. Will add you on PSN :)

Update: 12/09/10 - See post #1 for detail

* S license requirement eliminated

race sign up format:

* sign up format option

nice lil setups you have here, on both of your events :)
I set up both cars to your specs just to play around with and i was pleased. that mx5 roadster is pretty fun to drive around setup like that lol

good to see it being done with realistic setups, not all "lets max it out and throw soft slicks on it for traction" ha!

I have interest in both of your events, but if a wheel is required ill have to wait till my next check or so.. I have a old 4 year old driving force wheel i used for GT4 but for some reason the FFB no longer works, rendering it almost useless.. its got power and seems to ohm up ok on a meter but its just not acting like it should.. so ive been stuck using a controller for now... anyhow..

again nice work on your choice of setups and events. I hope to be able to join in for some nice clean racing very soon!

I'll add you now, Rocket Punch. I'm interested to know how your Camaro setup compares. First time I took it out after race modding it, I couldn't believe how it DIDN'T want to go around corners! A bit of reading set-up help and I've managed to tone down the understeer but it's still a bit of a beast to handle!

Racing Conduct update:

I added this to the racing conduct section for both series. The truth is, if you didn’t realize you shouldn’t be doing those to begin with anyway? This series may not be for you.

* On track road rage towards any driver and disorderly conduct such as but not limited to driving in the wrong direction, and intentional ramming is strictly prohibited. Only one warning will be issued before banning from the series. <- [updated: 12/11/10]

Event Rule Updates: Points Structure, Mechanical Failure, Driving Conduct

Update Log: (refer to event rules for details)

* Revised points structure to for closer competition.
* Added incentive for finishing races.
* Procedures regarding mechanical failure and “limping” it back to the pits.
* Note added regarding pit exiting.

Doing a Test & Tune session online now, hit me up if anyone in the series wants to join in.
