I was wondering if ya'll could help me build a badass car for under 150K, including the price of the car. Do ya'll have any suggestions? I need a car, parts list, and a good setup. I'd really appretiate it if you guys could help me. Thanks.

(Preferably with a RX-7 RS or RZ;) )

wow! thanks.

and one more request... Could ya'll help me build a 500hp beast? It has to be 500hp or less. I need help. No limits on price. Thanks.

ah crap. I meant that you have to buy a car and work from there. It can't be a car the you won in a race.

Do you think you have any ideas? I'm in a little tourny in this other forum. It just started. I got a measly 7th place seeding time. I don't have to race the first round because the best 8 seeding times get bye-rounds. I just want to get ready for the next tournament. I want to be ready for it with a 500hp monster. I just need your help. I'm hoping that my car can take the competition... but I doubt I can do that good against the players, but whatever, I'll try my best.

I would try a Lancer Evo VI RS, full lightweight (full everything for that matter, $$ no object, right?) Then play with the power parts until you get as close to 500 hp as you can. The chassis can handle it, and with proper suspension adjustment you can eliminate the understeer.

Castrol Tom's Supra can be bought for 1.5 million if I remember correctly. But I'm not sure if it comes in at less than 500 hp....... shoul dbe close though ;)

I would concur with Duke on the EVO. In my experience, EVO 6 is the lightest. I have turned the best times with the 7. Go for the chalk white RS.
If you are a decent tuner, The TVR Griffith is a good choice. The Tuscan is a better choice. But a real mover at the 500HP level is the GT350 Lotus.
Both of the TVR's can get tail-happy. The Lotus is rock-steady in stock form and only gets better with tuning and tweaking.

Interesting. Thanks guys. I'm going to try out those cars. And yeah, there is no price limit.

So which would be better? The EVO VI or VII?

I'll try out all those cars you guys listed and see how they turn out.

I don't have much experience with the VII, so I can't help you there. If Gil says it is faster in lap time, I believe him. Definitely go for the RS because they tend to be lighter than the GSRs.

The Lotus 350 would also be an excellent choice. The TVR Speed Six is capable of very fast lap times, but it is not user-friendly at all, and hard to drive consistently (for me anyway).

The Tommykaira ZZII is a wonderful, wonderful car, but I think even in stock form it is over your 500hp ceiling. If not, definitely give it a try.

If you want a "scalpel" instead of a "broadsword" The Opel Speedster, fully tuned only has about 330 Hp. But what a wonderful way to use 330 HP! It is small enough to be really agile on narrow tracks (Like Monaco) and with proper tweaking of the gerarbox it is quite fast. It will never be the first choice on tracks with super long straight-aways (the Test Course, GVS).

As for the EVO (If, like me, you LIKE "broadswords"). Try both the 6 and the 7. As I said, The 6(RS) is the lightest. I just have more seat time in the 7. You can make the 6 as quick as the 7 with gearbox tweekage. (A lot of the really awesome cars come into their own with tweekage of the gearbox). I prefer the way the 7 handles. But you may prefer the 6.

Some other cars that fit the bill for a 500 HP beast. The Supra RZ. IT is quite heavy, but it is a nice drive until you crack the 600 HP barrier. Then it becomes an intractable beast.

Either of the Newer RX-7s or the RX-8. I prefer the looks of the RX-7's. They are quite fast and handle well. But the RX-8 has lapped consistently faster for me.

Don't overlook the Viper. With stock gearing, (It think it has a 3.09 final drive, with the "sports-wide" slider set for about a 350 mph top end) it is an embarrasingly slow car. After full race tranny tweaks and the final drive to 4.44, let's just say it isn't the same car. Test the car on the track of your choice. If the car can't get nearly to the top of sixth gear by the 3/4 point of the longest straight, Go back to tranny settings and move the "sports-wide" slider 2 points to the left. Now go back and retest, setting that slider back 2 clicks, until you are happy with what should now (with your zealous tweekage) be awesome acceleration.:D

hmm.... a viper. Maybe I'll use that. Would a ZO6 be good? I need a good list so that I can narrow it down to the best cars. Right now, I'm leaning towards the EVO VI. I'm gonna try out the Supra today and see how that car turns out.

The Z06 is very good. Remember it is a LOT faster than it feels. Brake early.

I've never driven a Z06, but I hear it's great. I'm the only person in the world who hates the C5R, though.

I don't hate it. But it is rarely my FIRST choice for anything.
Stock it's a little too slow, and any level of modification and it becomes a bit of a handful to drive well.
I personally prefer the Vertigo. It's ugly as heck, but it goes like stink.

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks I suppose. I have never been able to drive the Gran Sport really well. It's good, but there are many cars I like lots better.
Try the mods listed above on the Viper, (if you haven't already). You will be pleasantly surprised.:D
