16 laps with one set of tyres

I raced the Toyota GT1 road car on Midfield II in the Polyphony cup. I picked hard tyres for the front because they get used more. I had medium tyres in the back.
I was surprised to notice that the tyre wear signal was just turning into orange after 16 laps. I pitted anyway but I think I could have gone to the end without a pit stop.
I think my lap times were not slow either (I think it's impossible to be slow anyway, you just make mistakes.), I did six laps in a row with 1:08:xxx.
So how are your experiences with tyres (the GT-one)?

I find that when the tyres are burnt out u get more grip...at the Super Speedway endurace race, I raced my 800bhp Viper which took 42laps before it needed a pit...I pitted 3 times I think...

I just raced the super speedway in a 1100hp Viper, pitted once, on lap 50... My best lap time was 35.11X, what are yours? In the end I just bumped of the walls...

I have to disagree, the tyres seem to have better grip when they're green.. My theory is that you just try harder when your tyres are worn out...

yeah, I can go faster lap by lap for like 10 laps !
