Anyone who has heard about the Nissan GT-R will know that its launch back in 2008 took the worlds motoring press by storm. Faster around the 'ring faster than a 911 Turbo, posted a 1:19.7 around the Top Gear testrack and the revived R36 was even faster and for $160k - $170k (Australian Dollars).

We know all the trivial stuff like its:

193mph top speed

3.8L Twin Turbo V6

0 - 60mph in sub 3 seconds

And the fact that a Nismo version is coming but now it's going to not just dominate the established range of exotica, because it is now taking on the serious end of the automotive achievements list. The Hennessey Venom GT for example can hit 186mph(300km/h) in a staggering 13.63 seconds and go from 0 - 230mph(370km/h) four seconds faster than a Bugatti Veyron SS goes from 0 - 200mph(322km/h). But somebody's faith certainly goes deeper because there is a new aftermarketly tuned version, the AMS Alpha 12+, goes from 0 - 186mph(300km/h) in 12.87 seconds and is just off the Venom GT's pace to 230mph(370km/h) by only about 2 or 3 seconds and with a mind blowing 1700hp!!! 500hp more than the Hennessey!!!

What an achievement you've got to respect the GT-R. What do you guys think of this amazing achievement, the AMS Alpha 12+

Not sure what's so surprising about considering it is an aftermarket car. Hell, there's 2004/5 Gallardos built with TT kits producing 1,600+whp as well.

I assume you're talking about this one from Russia...

Indeed. We live in an era of 2000 hp cars everywhere, heck, many of them home-crafted. To no one absurd power figures like these should be a surprise anymore.

Come on, saying they're everywhere and not surprising to see, is dismissive hyperbole. This is barely an "era" of 300 horsepower cars. Supercars and these microproduced batches of vehicles clearly don't appear everyday.
