Thought you guys might enjoy this. I had one of the best seats in the house... There isn't any "rulebook" for this section so I suppose it's OK to post, right?

Here's a few pics to hold the early viewers over. I'm uploading a video to Youtube now. See above video.

I HAD to come here once I saw the title of this post. I didn't see this car cross the auction block on NBC Sports Network, but I was completely stunned this beauty raked in $7 USD. I'll tell you what... she's worth every penny. That is a gorgeous car. I've always loved the Ford GT40. This one is amazing.

It was actually supposed to get even more... When I saw Wayne Carini there, I was almost certain he would buy it for 8-9 million. A phone bidder got it though. (Does Leno have a GT40 yet? )

You saw Wayne Carini? Now I'm even more jelly....

Yep. Saw him walk by about 2 pm (GT40 was auctioned about 3:30). I was looking at pictures on Mecum's Facebook page and he was sitting in the first row during the auction.
That's awesome. Must have been an amazing day for you. :D:tup:

Makes you wonder if the classic car investment bubble will ever burst again. It seemed pretty impervious to the 2008 financial disaster.
