Just a video I found at another Australian Sim Racing site posted by a member.

It is some home video footage of Bathurst 1983, quite rare. Take a look, awesome video.

Thank you for the dig up ! Pretty violent @ the race start ! Love it!

@ 2min 45s, i thought they were going to play bowling with the PomPoms ... :p

hm. fraid you'll have to identify a few of the cars for us yanks. I usually use body shape and headlight/tailight configurations to identify them. some of the manufacturer markings help, but that's about it.

besides an obvious beamer and an FA rx7, i SWEAR a saw an "f2" Camaro and a c2 Corvette in one pass-by.

Excellent video 👍 - was the race still known as the Hardie-Ferodo 1000 back then?

TheCracker - Yes it was the Hardie-Ferodo 1000 during that year. 👍

Now, details of some cars to help the US & Euro guys out.;) And I'm only putting them down when they first appear, there's quite a few times where the same cars appear.

Qualifying:
#11, #22 & #25 - Holden Commodore's [VH] (#25 was Peter Brock's car which won that year!)
#31 - BMW 635CSi (Jim Richards)

Pitlane Saturday:
#17 - Ford Falcon [XE] (Dick Johnson's car)
#15 - Nissan Bluebird Turbo (George Fury's car, this was the pole sitter for that year with a 450hp Z18T motor!)
#4 - Holden Commodore [VH]
#43 - Mazda RX-7 [SA, Series 2] (Alan Moffat's car, powered by a 13B Peripheral Port motor!)

And the last 30seconds of the video with the drinking.....well, THAT is what I referred to as "the bullring". If you were a Ford fan, you sat with your Ford mates and if any other brand of car came within 100m of your area, it got torched and vice versa for Holden Fans!! Many people use to drive there and have to get the train home due to incidents like that.

Best image is 6.33-6.38, go the dude eating the leg of lamb like a caveman!!
