Okay, i have had a car sitting for abour 3.5 years. I have no idea whats wrong with it, but from what i hear the engine is blown. I havent had the chance to really look at it yet, because i just decided i should work on it and get it running, as i will have my license soon enough. Currently, i have no idea whats wrong with it, the transmission is out of it along with the driveline.. I was wondering, whats the easiest way to find out whats wrong with it and whether the engine is blown or not?

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks.

Turn the key.

If it works, you rule.

If not, take it to a mechanic.

That's what I do.

Heh, id like to work on my own car and not have to shed out 1000$ to get something fixed that might only cost about 150$.

rip the motor to bits. doesnt always solve the problem but its fun to pull things apart.

My own error demands I edit this as a :dunce: post.

How can it run if the engines blown man O.o

M5 said if the engine run are good, and if it don't is death=call the mechanic.

I.M.O

Ok, I misread you, I thought you were saying that you had left a car with an ok engine docile and that you had tried to use it and found out it was "blown". Sorry.

Is it the Bottom or top half that's gone (don't know much about Chevvy engines)
