Everyone plays games for different reasons. Everyone who plays GT5 does it differently, but from what I see on this forum, I must be nuts.

I play with the volume on mute, cant stand the engine noise.

I have hundreds of paint colors as I have have never painted a car and don't care to. Even in the new car dealer I use the color that the car shows up with, don't even cycle through the options.

I have no interest in playing online, ever, goes for every other video game also.

I use the driving line, the HUD, and every assist offered.

I don't mind leaving my PS3 on indefinitely to do B-spec forever, in fact I enjoy it.

I don't have any problems with the game, think its great, and don't want anything changed. I abhor when games are changed after release, would much rather wait another year for the initial release.

So I must be crazy, right?

I hate playing online on GT5, can never connect to my friends and to be honest I hate online on most games people buy for. FIFA, Gran Turismo, even Black Ops I prefer the campaign and playing zombies solo and combat training (love combat training :D) to multiplayer. I must sound so anti-social.

When you say "Am I Crazy?" do you mean 'I as in me' or 'I as in you'?

Wait - who said that?

Nevermind - I'm voting 'Yes'.

Nothing wrong with playing the game the way you like to play it as long as you aren't ruining the experience for others, and you don't play online, so have at it! Only thing I think is weird is that you don't want updates. At least 9 out of 10 updates is a welcome improvement on the game, especially GT5 since it wasn't finished at launch.

I can understand the not playing online (I haven't yet) but you need to hear the sounds to judge whether or not the car is loosing grip on a corner, this can be corrected if you hear it and you will see faster lap times.

Also my 5.1 setup allows me to hear if cars are approching from behind so I don't need to keep switching views to look behind (I drive in 3rd person only).

How far are you in the game again you crazy guy?

A-spec level 27, B-spec level 33. Only by driving overpowered cars though, my skills are weak. I find the license tests almost impossible, and thats for bronze. I also cut every corner I can and ram other cars. So I am definitely nuts, but like it says "the first step is admitting you have a problem"

And with Mario Kart via feet, I could beat the AI on most tracks and my friends, so I should probably see a therapist ASAP.

I doubt he CAN lose grip with all the assists on

Have fun playing your game your way though man :)

Seems like one of those "who am I?" things lol.

But I agree, you're crazy (no offense). Might have OCD?

I blame the OP's location...

For sure, everyone sucks at driving here. Plus I grew up in Tokyo and never had to ride in a car, much less drive one. But we do have a section of interstate in the mountains that is incredible. I used to love driving it IRL in my '88 prelude. Flying up the hill blowing by trucks at 90+, sweet. Now I rock the minivan with kids. But in the game I'm closer to a half blind 80 year old!

Whats next, playing with the TV off?

Hmm, that could be quite entertaining to watch a replay of... Maybe I should give that a shot... On the Norshliefe... At night....In the rain.... On comfort hards.... In an X2010..... LOL Jokes, Im not crazy :boggled:

Part is the engine noises get annoying after a few minutes. I absolutely hate it when people drive by on the street revving their cars. But its also that with two kids and a wife I mute it so I can play at night when everyone is in bed.
