Just took a MazdaSpeed Atenza '05 into the Clubman Cup. Seeing a lineup consisting of 2 WRX STi's ('99 and '02), a Supra RZ '97, and another Fairlady Z TT 2 Seater, I smile to myself thinking I'll smoke these boys with my FF Mazda equipped with newly installed Stage 1 Turbo, intercooler, brakes, and a good 'ol comp-chip. I had this boosted from a stock 280+ HP to a 300+ bad boy.

Starting the race, screen shows a value of 154 A-Spec points. Uh-oh. To my surprise the mazda hold's its own, 1st and 2nd gear on this guy really shines, able to keep pace. By the 2nd turn I'm in 2nd place, trying to keep up with the '02 WRX STi. I can keep up with him on the corners, but his 4wd is owning me badly on the straights. He keeps a steady 3 car lengths ahead of me, and it stays this way for 9 laps. Tires are losing grip, and so is my composure, last lap, I get desperate, gotta get cheesy on this guy. My only chance is the big 90 degree turn, So i go full boost ahead, slamming into the STi at 200 Kph. He goes flying into the wall, and I downshift to 2nd and take the lead - all the way to victory.

Seems like some strategies never stop working :)
 
Lol, are all the races longer in GT4 or is it like GT3 beginner races 2 or 3 laps, professional 10 or more ect? I noticed you were entering the Clubman cup though which I though was a beginner event.

Race lengths depend on the event and difficulty of event. Clubman Cup is a Professional Hall event in GT4, 5 races total.

So far no time penalty on crashes. But I know there is 5 second penalty on Rally Races.

I was doing that since GT2 , crash into the opponent in the corner and win :) (only if I was behind)
 
got to ask, are there 90-96 300ZX(fairlady Z) in the game??? or is it just the 99-00 Zs?

and plz tell me they brought back the IMSA Z race car from GT2.

Yes the 300ZX is in GT4, I've seen a few sceenshots and vids with them in.

Good story but I dont really agree with your method of winning a race. Thats one thing I really like about games with damage. You have to use pure skill to win. Games like TOCA 2(X-BOX VERSION), Rallisport challenge 2, Forza. If you just ram into someone on those games your car will be so damaged you wont be able to win. I just think of it as cheating when you have to ram the comp to win. Good story anyway. :)

"cause you've hit everything else on the race track....i want you to be perfect"



Scrappy. just the way i used to play when i was out matched.
now i just take my beatings if i have to. makes you a better driver in the end.

Ye 'ol faithful smash'em into the wall on the last turn Maneuver......Classic

Yeah, in the Forza demo, you can barely touch an opponent. Unfortunately, sometimes the AI will cut right in front of you, or in some cases rear-end you. Since I don't use traction control, getting back on the track takes a little longer than the person who wrecked us...
 
Some of the most impressive AI I have ever seen were in Toca 2(X-BOX VERSION). They are quite intelligent in the Forza demo also. Makes the racing very very intense at times. 👍

a. The LawnMower maneuver

b. The block-his-path-so-he-can-boost-me-from-behind maneuver

c. knudge him from behind so he wipes out into 50 square feet of gravel

The lawnmower effect doesnt even work in Toca 2 (x-box). The game instantly spins you out if you try that. :lol: Its hilarious online when guys would try it then instantly end up in last. :lol:
