I found this video on youtube

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to diss him or anything, but how is a 2:05 possible with those lines? I use kp/h so I don't know his speed but judging his line it's pretty hard to determine where he's getting all that speed.

Super soft slicks.

May also have weight/power changes.

Exactly! Unless you know anything about his set up you can't really comment on lap times.

As for his lines, IMO, Suzuka lap times can be destroyed at the esses, so maintaining momentum there is key and by the looks of it he managed that quite well. The rest of the lap can be quite forgiving given the high speed sections later in the lap. (This may just be the case for me thought - Guys who are really good at GT Sport may disagree!).

It seems to be a modified m4 with more power and less weight.
His line through the esses are awesome, it is just a good lap, nothing to see here.

Edit: power and weight on max, I think I can beat that lap, m4 BoP uses 100 and 104%, picturing 126% and 82%, it is totally doable.

What times do you run there?
My last PB was a high 2:07

Unless you just check the tyres being used

#schoolboy :)
Oh yeah he is using RSS! Doh I should've looked there first :dunce:

Most people take the esses with the straightest line possible since it has the most stable momentum going there but some people like me use the racing line. It allows me to be much faster at some parts of the esses at the slight expense of the others :)
Although, for me the esses are the most forgiving. It may be the hardest to be fast in, but definitely quite easy to keep your car on track. It's the Degner curves that kill me :boggled:

It's a decent lap yeah, but I thought I was looking at a BoP'ed M4 with RH. Dumb me for assuming that even though it said nowhere that it is but I got used to seeing so many replays like that that I defaulted to that mindset

I love the Degners its probably the only corners i can get spot on 9/10 times in the whole track roster!!!!!!

Yes he's losing time everywhere, especially the final sector, both at the start of the lap and the end. He also has Traction Control on so more lost time, everywhere he's too slow to get on the throttle and it's not just because of the TC. He may have upped the power but he also has Super Softs on so that should more than make up for the increase in power with a massive increase in grip allowing him to exit the corners way better than he does. It's not a good lap at all, a top guy would beat it by seconds I'd imagine, if they ran the same setup as him.

You know the 'man' as in quoting Ric Flair (the wrestler) "If you wanna be the man. Then you gotta beat the man"

You are the main man to beat aren't you?

Cool, it totally validates how I handle the esses. I've seen people do it by braking before the turn and also by lifting on the apex instead of the turn. For me it's always felt natural to lift in the brake zone, steer the car, and then half throttle push once the car has settled.

I have a habit of just touching the brakes at the entry of each curve in the esses to transfer the weight to the front before I turn in, it seems to work for me but maybe it takes me 90 seconds longer to get thru the esses than everyone else. :dunce::dunce::dunce::dunce::dunce::dunce:

I usually race with Porsches and no matter how far back the engine is, lifting off the gas is usually enough deceleration to move the weight forward. That's actually why I have to wait for the car to settle, I let the front tires bite and steer and then the throttle will follow the front tires and eliminate the understeer. It's like a gentle trail brake but without braking.

I thought I was doing it correctly because I always seem to gain on people through the esses, but after viewing a few top record lap times I began to question myself.

He is rip, not "the man" :dunce:

I ain't no man :P

Every person has a different interpretation of the esses. If it works for you, it works :)
I also don't follow the line the Top 10 uses there but I get pretty fast times

You‘re a weeb, so yes no man at all :)

Hey Mr. Cider, which region do you like racing in best? How do you get credits to buy cars, or do you just do manufacturer deals? Lastly, what is AMS??? Thank you

It has to be Asia for me :) A notch down in cleanliness compared to Europe, but the skill level is just right for me. Seeing TX3s, TRLs, and all those alien teams stress me to no end :scared:

For the credits part, I earn it all in Sport mode. Truth be told, it sometimes poses a problem for me since I barely have any money on my sub accounts to buy the best cars, so I make do with the best car I have  I use the manufacturer deals to get my favorite (not necessarily best) car that I will use until I'm in the higher rankings where my favorite car just won't cut it.

AMS (Apex Motorsports) is a new and upcoming racing team that is based on the US. I got scouted while racing on that region and I accepted :D I'll be racing on Asia though, because it has the most convenient FIA race schedule (the main goal of AMS). Since I'm currently the only one in Asia, I'm scouting for some great players over here as well :D

How do these racing teams work? Are they holding league races... or?
