2 GT5 accounts on 1 PS3

I don't know if this is frowned upon or whether it's not allowed at all, but are you able to have 2 GT5 accounts on one PS3. (Including seperate PSNs)
Would it have problems with recognizing the save data or anything?

Basically, my brother wants to play it while I'm staying with him, but wants to start his own account from scratch. (He wants to get the satisfaction of building it etc)

This is fine. I have 16. You just can't share saves between accounts. So if Account 1's save were to be copied to Account 2, Account 2 would not be able to load the data. But as long as the save on Account # belongs to Account #, then everything is fine.

It's not frowned upon. A lot of people do it, including myself. I made a separate PS3 User Account and PSN ID for a drift team I joined a few months ago.

Nope. Different PS3 account = Different save data. Me and my brother each have our own save files for some of the games we both play, like Modern Warfare 3, Dynasty Warriors 7, and Resident Evil 6.

Sure go ahead, let him start his own GT5 save game. :)
 
Yes u can, i had 2 psn acc, 1 for my indonesia region ( asia) , 1 for my us region on 1 ps3 machine. I bought the gt5 xl ed region 1 (us of course) when i tried to redeem the code, i put the wrong code (invalid) then i create the us acc, and bam! I got the everything of gt5 xl advantages.
 
It's possible, yes, it's legal, yes. I've got three, my personal, my GTP_WRS and a US account (for YouTube's app which I think I'll delete).

I also have 3 accounts. A GTP account, which I had to create to be able to get into GTP_WRS qualifier. I also created another account for duping horns and paints and cars once in a while although that really isn't necessary anymore with the huge payouts on Seasonals. But with the paints and horns it came in very handy. Each day from my main account I would sent 5 (daily limit) paints and horns, then reload my save. After a month or two, I had 5 of most things I wanted in my other account, and so I could begin sending 5 horns/paints at a time back to my original account, the reload the game save on the other account to keep the items in stock.

For me none of this would have been necessary, and it was a pain in the 🤬 because saving and loading the game takes time, but none of it would have been necessary if we could have bought paints in a paint store like the real world and like we do with every other addition to the car. Why paints have to come free from "nowhere" is one of the great mysteries of life...lol

Ok, So thanks for all the answers, in this, I also assume I wouldn't have a problem sending things to his account. (just a reasonable car for him to start on)

Also, how does he log into the account? Do I just log out of my PSN and have him log in with his?

I know these are very newb questions.

I appreciate Any help you guys can give :)

You just select the PSN you want to use when you turn it on. Or you select by scrolling left and choosing to change user.

You can send him stuff. The daily limits apply per PS3 for GT5. (1 car, 5 paints, 5 items and as many helmets and suits as you can fit. 50maximum)

Awesome. What about save game data? I'm going to try talking him to getting one after Christmas, can we transfer that OK?

As long as he set's himself up with the same PSN ID on the new machine then you should be able to tranfer the save game to the new machine

He can transfer any date from his profile on one PS3 to his same profile on another PS3. You can't use save game data on a completely different account, for example, you can't use your game save to start his version of GT5 with a garage full of cars he has to start from scratch.
