2 problems with 2 cars

Ok, I have 2 problems with 2 of my cars.

1. Trueno with everything and a stage 1 turbo, 2nd and 3rd gear get into the red and keep going... 3rd gear gets into the red at about 50 mph but stays in until 62 or so.

2. Supra (the more costly one), When I drift with it, the back end tries to align back to center. This is a stock Supra. It acts like the Escudo does at high speeds, only this is low speed.

Did you try tuning your transmission so that in 2nd and 3rd gear,i t will not go into the red? If you did, then try not to press the gas button too hard. You can touch the button very lightly to get a better acceleration.

Did you try putting simulation tires on it? If you do, then the car will be easier to oversteer. If you did not, then try getting the horsepower around 400 and then it should be easier to oversteer.

I hope that helps :)

I did try Sim tires, but how it acts(Supra) when trying to drift annoys the **** out of me. Go get the Supra(44k one) and go drift it, go try sims too. you'll see what my problem is.

As for the Trueno, should I make the gears smaller? What about Final gear?

For the Supra...did you remember to turn ASM off? I know I always forget to do that when I go to buy a new car and run it.

As for the Trueno...moving the gears to the right (bigger, I think) makes them have less power, but a higher peak. This should keep you from burning out too badly, if you control the accelerator well (like Thio said;)). For the final gear, move it over left, which would be smaller. This is kinda like auto-setting it higher, except its really messing with the back end gear, not the individual gears. Also, the final gear makes much smaller changes.

I always remember to turn ASM off... I can get the Supra to oversteer, but it fights, it fights to go back to normal. If you've used the Escudo on a rally course with jumps, you'll know kinda what the Supra is doing...

my supra is the oversteer king.

has like 1000hp though. and sims.

wheels stay spinning until 6th gear. hahaha.

What are your settings for both the Supra and the Trueno? That can help us pinpoint where your problem is.

The Supra is stock.

The Trueno has everything and a 1st stage turbo... I haven't gotten into changing settings cause I always screw the car up.

Okay, so it seems like you just need to know how to control it. Then all you need is practice. If the car oversteers a little and then the rear end gains traction again, add some more horsepower and lighten the car. Then the car will be easier to drift. Some key things to remember: try to feather the throttle instead of flooring it. Countersteer when you need to. Drifting is not about flooring the throttle and having full countersteer, or else then where is the fun of drifting? Put on some Simulation Tires on the Supra. That will make the car easier to drift than having the normal tires on it.

I used to drift the Supra stock, and I used to have the same problems. You just need to practice weight shifting to get the car to oversteer, that is all ;)

Like what Purple Platypus said, try changing the gears by moving the final gear ratio to the left or moving the auto setting to the right. Either way the gears will be stretched so you can make use of the powerband ;)

I hope that helps. Give these suggestions in this thread a try and tell us if it helps you or not. If it does not, then ask over here. We are always here to help :D

people here need to recognize me... I'm not new to drifting...

Thx for the advice though, not the general drifting advice but the lightening/adding hp advice. I'll tell you tomorrow if it worked out...

Noooo

Here it is For Supra with 1100 hp turn off asm not traction control
and put sims. Thats what i do it seems like it wont burn out when u set it up but....it will 1100 hp tsc dont do Junk... So do that dont change anything else

Most are not interested in 1000+ Supras for anything, drifting or otherwise. I think that most people get better times with the stage 3 turbo than the stage 4, anyway.

turbo 3 psh..... I use the GT One Road Car and it drifts preity nicely.....its so fast and burns ruber like crazy.........
Can watch it in my 2 video i made

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOMMMMMMM..............

Supra Is Good To drift with at 1000hp + It just cool to have 1000hp and still be drifting.....But you got to make sure u have at less 1 tcs on

Eh, I'm just gonna have to say that drifting with 1000 hp can't be good. I mean, even with T8's and tcs on high, you can't even touch the gas without burning the rear wheels off. But then you get up to 150 mph and try to drift? That just can't work well. Then you go into the drift and try to control those 1000 horses with 1/16 of an inch of X button? That's gotta be even worse. Oh well, maybe that's just me . To each his own.

1000 hp drifting is fun sometimes, with t8's it feels the same as 300 hp on sims just that time is a little sped up. Other then that it's pretty much the same.
