I like how it looks.
Would have been better in black but then it's wouldn't have the same paint scheme as Eleanor. :)

Nice looking GT500, I really like what Ford has done with the Mustang. The last 2 generations were kinda girlish, but these are much better. I'd take an SVT one though, how can a mustang with a Ford GT engine be bad?

OF COURSE, these kits are not made by Ford or SVT or even Shelby.

This a kit made by a private owner.
Looks good though.

But nothing will beat the original.

What, this?

Last thing I've heard about it is they won't use the GT engine, it's too expensive. :indiff:

They'll put an updated version of the last gen Cobra engine in it. Still powerfull, but heavier.

From everything I've read it says they are using a detuned version of the Gt's engine. It will almost out run a Vette.

From their current main page:

Motor Trend
Contrary to early reports, including ours, the born-again Shelby won't make use of a de-powered version of the exotic Ford GT powerplant. The GT's expensive 550-horsepower, 5.4-liter V-8 uses an aluminum block and has dry-sump oiling and a screw-type supercharger. Instead, the Shelby-spec engine is an evolution of the outgoing SVT Cobra's 390-horsepower, iron block, aluminum head, four valve, Roots-blown 4.6, with a critical difference: It's finally received the displacement increase--to 5.4 liters--everyone's been begging for.

Yep, a detuned Ford GT engine 5.4 supercharged with 450+ hp and torque at only 8.5 psi. I can't wait to see them modded.

I like BOTH! A lot! :D 👍

The quality of your posts shadows that of Famine's.

That's one very nice looking Mustang. He surely spent a few dollars on it. I can bet you it sounds just as mean as it looks too.

no thanks.
far too "me too" for my tastes.
gimme a nice alpina or schnitzer BMW 2002, autodelta alfa 1750 GTV, BRE datsun 510, eagle E type, etcetc etc

something not everybody has seen and tried to replicate. id rather not be one of the sheep.

I have yet to see a 2005 Mustang that looks like crap. I like this one, but not as much as the GT500 Mustang concept. In fact, it's nice, but don't seriously like it.

 ooh chunky innit, not sure whether id choose it over the other 2 eleanors. the mach 1 maybe my fav cos that was one damn good film, arg but then i like the retro-modern looks of the second, and then this one!! i dunno really i like all of them

Hell Raiser
I could live with it,But like you said,NOTHING beats the original Elanor
Yeah, the ORIGINAL Eleanor. Present to me a 2005 painted in bright Yellow with a black hood stripe, black-painted lower skirts, 351 cubic inches under the hood, deep-dish rims and a "Mach I" badge on the trunklid and then we'll talk. :irked:

Edit: Ohh, look! People beat me to it! Yay for Halicki fans! ^_^ *hands out cookies*

hey y'all,i'm a new member up here...anyways about the car. it is true the 2005 shelby will use a detuned version of the ford gt's engine, however you can still get the original version of the 1967 eleanor(like the one in the movie), they call it the Shelby GT 500 E...some guys in texas are making them...no they're not some dodgy tuners...these guys have the approval of carroll shelby himself to make these cars, and each car comes with shelby's signature. these cars are amazing and they come with different engine options...the daddy of them all has a supercharged 725hp engine:scared: ....unfortunately they'll violate your bank account big time and only a few hundreds will be made, but you still have got to check them out, these are some links:
